Chapter 214: Dear uncle (5)

"Your brother doesn’t have a clue what a real man looks like," Derek laughed at Victor’s reaction. They were all close to each other and Victor was acting as if he had never seen a penis before. Doesn’t he ever look down?

"And you have?" Vincent replied. Derek and his obsession with showing what he was working with never failed to amaze him. It was like Derek had to prove that he was truly a man.

"Of course. Each and every day I know what one looks like. My secret weapon to having Jane so crazy about me- Will you please stop throwing things at me!" Derek yelled, throwing back the pillow at Vincent.

"Pardon me for not wishing to know how you got Jane to be so crazy about you. I am more interested in how she saw you and thought I am going to date him."

Proud of the woman he was able to marry, Derek felt highly of himself and decided to lecture Vincent. "I have mastered the art of seduction from a young age-" freēwēbnovel.com

"She told me of how much you stuttered when she asked you to be her partner at her father’s birthday celebration. Which page did that come from when you were mastering the art of seduction? I might have skipped that one?" Vincent grinned, enjoying the horror on Derek’s face.

"W-Why on earth were the two of you speaking about such a thing? I’m your friend not her," Derek couldn’t believe Jane was going around telling his embarrassing moments of when they first started dating.

"I knew of Jane before you and she has become my friend just like you are. And she told me these stories to tell you whenever you lie about your skills. I’m saving you from the embarrassment of lying to someone else. I’m finished." Vincent had finished changing and was ready to follow his uncle. "We have to meet up with the others quickly." frёeωebɳovel.com

Derek was finished too but he was more concerned about what else Jane told Vincent. Didn’t she know Vincent was one of the worst people to tell secrets to? He’ll use them as blackmail. It was like sinning in front of the devil and not expecting him to drag you to the underworld.

"Tell me everything Jane told you," Derek said.

"Ask her yourself. You live together."

Vincent went down to the first floor to see Victor mentally preparing himself to go out to the crowd. Derek came down right after and went to the back door they were going to escape out of.

There could be a crowd at the back but they were hoping Victor would cause a loud enough commotion that the people there would leave and give them enough time to enter a trap door hidden in the garden. It would lead them a few houses away for no one to see Vincent.

"Let’s do this," Victor took one final breath before going outside to distract the crowd.

"Now," Derek whispered when there was a loud noise on the outside. This was their chance. Derek was the first to leave just in case there were too many people there and he would need to warn Vincent of staying. He opened the trap door and jumped down then waited for Vincent who followed soon after.

"Lock it," Vincent said to Derek. It was a good idea for him to not close up this little space as it came in handy. He wasn’t sure what the person who built his house was going for when he created this area but it was useful.

He used to be worried about someone using it to sneak into his home but no one ever did. It meant the person who did it never told anyone of this and the gardener ignored it whenever he came across it.

"I should’ve placed some lights here but I didn’t want anyone to see me opening the trap door. I hope your eyesight is still good," said Derek. They were going to rely on their eyes rather than fire to help them find their way out.

"I should be asking you that. I hope the men you have chosen have not lost sight of Graham or I will punish you along with them."

Derek’s mouth fell open in disbelief he was going to be punished for others’ failures. "Are you really just a werewolf? You’re actually the devil and have been fooling us all along? Tell me, I can keep a secret."

"If I was the devil I would have sent you down to the underworld already. Must I keep reminding you that I am more kind than you think? Do you wish for me to show you what me being cruel is like? You seem to be asking for it quite often," Vincent glanced at Derek waiting to see if he was going to accept the offer.

"No thank you. You being nice is already hard enough. We’re close to the exit. One man will meet us there and then we’ll catch up to the ones keeping an eye on Graham-"

"Listen," Vincent placed his hand on Derek’s shoulder. "This is risky and we can end up in a fight against vampires but I promise to bring you back home to your wife and children."

"Of course. If I don’t return today Jane would find me in the underworld and kill me again. The plan is to not engage in a serious fight and just get Graham on the vampire’s bad side right? We got this," Derek held out his hand for Vincent to make the promise.

"We got this," Vincent agreed with Derek and shook his hand.

"I have to make sure Aurora doesn’t lose the love of her life. Again," Derek added as Vincent had almost died recently. He started to climb up to where the second trap door for them to exit. "This lock is hard to open," he started wiggling the lock around for it to open but it ended in him breaking it off. "That works too."

Vincent shook his head not understanding how Derek managed to break a lock that was simple to use. All he needed to do was pull out the chain.

"I can feel you sighing behind me. I am not appreciated around here," Derek sobbed.

Vincent ignored his fake ugly tears and climbed out of the hole before closing back the trap door.

"Vincent!" A man called in a shush tone. It was one of the men meant to take them to where Graham was going.

"You came a long way," Vincent said when he recognized the man as the one who ignored the vampire outside the gates. "Well done. Take us to where my uncle is."

"Yes sir," Carl started leading the way to where it had been reported Graham had gone. He took routes to keep Vincent out of sight but that didn’t help with some people sniffing the air because of Vincent’s scent. "He went home and got two men with him. He just went out the gates but the others are on his tail."

"Good." Vincent liked that things were going well but still kept his guard up. Anything could change in a second and have them screwed. Graham always managed to disappear whenever he left the community.

The three men quickly made it out of the community without anyone bringing attention to Vincent’s scent in the air. Now that they were out, Vincent removed a hood he used to cover his face when he got dressed with Derek.

They started running to catch up to Graham and the others following but remained light on their fight so Graham couldn’t hear he was being hunted.

Vincent picked up on Graham’s scent and therefore started to run ahead to lead the way. He was out for blood so his senses were heightened to keep track of Graham.

"Vincent," a second called to the trio to stop them. By this time, they were close to the dark forest where the vampires resided so there would be guards all around keeping an eye out for intruders.

"His scent disappeared," Vincent informed the others. The moment they stepped into the dark forest Graham’s scent disappeared but Vincent was still able to pick up on new scents of vampire guards.

"He didn’t go through the main gates of the palace. I saw him disappear into a space between two trees. It has to be a witch spell to keep him from being spotted by other vampires," the third and final man of their group appeared.

"The royals must not want all the other vampires to know they have a werewolf in the palace. They could be hiding him from any traitors who would wish to sell Vincent this information. That’s why he disappeared whenever we follow after him," Derek concluded. They should have known it was a spell making them lose track of Graham.

"What do we do now?" Asked Carl. He was already surprised to see Graham had been working with vampires but now that they lost sight of him what were they going to do?

"Stay together and follow my lead. There are only five of us so be on alert or this group will get smaller," Vincent warned the men before moving from where they were as it was too dangerous to stay in one place for too long.
