Chapter 158: Waking up (2)

Aurora could barely stand the sight of the witch killing the children and placing them to bleed out next to her body on the stone table. She knew something bad had to happen at this place but she never envisioned it would be this sinister. How could anyone just kill children like this? And there was the point of the witch telling Minnie she would need twice as many children as they had today. She counted the children as the witch who killed them and found there to be seven children.

"Can you at least attempt to see if the wish will grant me eternal youth?" Minnie’s biggest goal was to stop aging outside of bringing more success to the Hamilton name.

"She’s not in her strongest state for a wish of eternal youth to be granted. If I release her from the spell-"

"No!" Minnie interrupted the witch. She was certain the moment the spell wore off, Aurora would try to kill her. For now, she would have to wish for something to benefit the success of one of their businesses. A competitor of theirs in the wine business was doing much better than them, cutting a lot of their income. It would be good if the family could all die.

"Don’t you want your son to become close to the king or something? Dump his wife and have the chance to marry the princess?" The witch proposed an idea. It would be good if one of her customers had ties in the palace. More money for her and possibly, fewer punishments for witches in the future. The rule of witches being burnt should no longer exist.

"Mother, I don’t wish to be divorced from Rachel," Nathaniel said, disagreeing with that plan. He came to love his wife even though the marriage was arranged. She blessed him with two beautiful children. To divorce Rachel and suddenly marry the princess wouldn’t leave his children in a good position. The princess might want only their children to be in the palace and not the ones he had from a previous marriage.

Minnie didn’t bother to reply to her son.

"I promise to find you one of my sisters who can do anything you ask for. The next time I cast this spell, you will be granted eternal youth but you must never forget who has helped you reach your goal. I like having rich friends who know how to repay favors." If the Hamiltons turned their back on her after the things she did for them, the witch had no problem killing the entire family.

"I will remember how much you have helped us. Bring one of your sisters who knows more about this dark or black magic and I will make sure you are paid greatly. There is something else I need you to do when we are done here," Minnie said.

Nathaniel took a step forward to speak up, "My children are too young-"

"Silence son! You have long asked me to bring you into this and now you question everything. You will do as I say and not question my authority," Minnie spat to her son. He was always well behaved but tonight he was getting on her nerves. "Continue with the spell."

Aurora continued to watch from the sidelines as the witch painted her body with the children’s blood. She almost vomited at the sight but held herself together. Once she was soaked in the children’s blood the witch started to chant something and a bright light glowed down onto the table thanks to the moon. Aurora had to cover her eyes for a moment because of the brightness but when it disappeared, she found her body which had been grown turned into a child.

"I hope you made your wish," the witch told Minnie. It was important that the wish be made as soon as the spell worked its magic. The witch had considered taking the spell for herself and leaving before the family could realize it. A wish coming from someone whose existence came from the ancient tree which grants wishes would do the witch better than waiting on favors from Minnie.

"I did," Minnie grinned, pleased with what she ended up wishing for but was a little upset that she wouldn’t deal with the aging problem tonight. "Why did she become a child?"

"You said you wanted her far from the age she wouldn’t start remembering anything so I altered the spell to make her into a child."

Aurora watched as Minnie stared down at her child’s appearance.

"Mother, what are we to do with her as a child? Should we have her locked away in the old-"

"No. I have a better idea," Minnie stated as she touched Aurora’s face wiping away some of the blood from the children they sacrificed. "Pick up the body and have her cleaned up Nathaniel. Come with me," Minnie told the witch.

As Minnie left with the witch and Nathaniel took her new body from the stone table, the memory disappeared leaving Aurora with the sight of her body being covered in vines.

"They did that to us over and over again just for a wish. I was once friends with a Hamilton but for what they have done to me, they have become my-our enemy. That memory was only one of the things they did to us. They had to stab us in the heart before taking us there. We can’t remain as we are now. Wake up," the voice in Aurora’s head told her. freewebnovёl.ƈom

Tears fell from Aurora’s eyes as she imagined how many children were killed just for them to put that spell on her. Death was the fate of Abigail and Tara had Derek not saved them. Someone like Minnie should not be given eternal youth for her to make everyone’s lives difficult. Minnie and many others needed to die.

"Please wake up," Aurora softly spoke as the moonlight became bright in the room just like in the dream. She closed her eyes to protect them from the bright light.

"Aurora! Aurora! Can you hear me?" Cherry’s voice was suddenly heard.

Aurora opened her eyes first seeing Cherry looking down at her with concern.

"Oh, thank goodness you have woken up. I was afraid something bad would happen after I couldn’t hear your heartbeat for a moment. We were ambushed on our way to Vincent’s home. They broke my arm in the fight and took both of us. If I just had a second more I would have killed the man who broke my arm. Just wait till I get out of here," Cherry cursed their kidnappers. They ruined the dress she worked so hard on and she planned to make them pay.

Aurora blinked twice then sat up from Cherry’s lap. When it dawned on her what had happened she started to laugh which confused Cherry.

"Did you hit your head Aurora? This isn’t a situation where you should be laughing. Vincent is out fighting the vampires and Victor had the rest of the kidnappers to fight off. He must be worried sick about losing us. I find it suspicious that no guards were in that area of Vincent’s home. Why are you still laughing?"

"Because they took me on a wrong day," Aurora smirked as she was back to her original self. They picked the worst day possible to kidnap her when she was finally free. "It feels good to be back. Where are the idiots who took us? I don’t mind a little entertainment as a welcome back gift."

Cherry didn’t understand why there was such a shift in Aurora’s personality. The usually shy and meek girl was speaking a lot differently. There was a different vibe to the girl too like she had just become an entirely different person. Cherry decided to remain silent for now. freeweɓnovel.cøm

"Say whatever is on your mind Cherry. It annoys me when people don’t state what’s bothering them. I’m a little sad that you didn’t remember me but you never had a good memory," Aurora chuckled remembering something from a long time ago.

"Why are you talking differently? It’s not how you were a while ago."

"I wasn’t myself then but now I am. It’ll be explained later but for now, I want to have some fun," Aurora stood up from the ground to inspect the shabby home they were taken to. Did they honestly think they could hide her from Vincent in his own community?

Suddenly, the door to the room they were placed in flew open, and in walked two men.

"Nice to see that you are awake but it would be much better for you to be seated darling. Be quiet and this can all be over for you soon," one of the men told them.

"Hmm. I would prefer it if you tell me who sent you to kidnap me and before I get angry, tell me where the necklace that was on my neck is. It’s important to me and I would appreciate it if you hand it back while I am asking nicely."

Aurora kept her memories and feelings from the time she had left the Hamilton home. She promised to keep Vincent’s mother’s necklace safe and that was what she intended to do.
