Chapter 151: Party mess (1)

"He had the nerve to embarrass me," Graham slammed the front door of this home shut as he stormed off to get a drink to calm his nerves. The trial had not gone as he had planned and now Marge wasn’t an elder anymore. He lost one of his connections today all because of his nephew and that woman he brought with him. If Artemis hadn’t shown up, they would’ve killed the children and interrogated the woman Vincent had. He was so close.

"Nice to see you again darling," Cecilia Lawernce greeted her husband without looking up from the jewelry she was trying on. "I take it the trial didn’t go as you planned? I don’t see why you went as it is always boring," she muttered then jumped when glass being broken was heard. "I loved those little glasses. Now we need to buy more. Darling, can you not wreck the entire house? You don’t want me buying things but I will have to if you keep breaking them. What happened today?"

"The children will be living with Jane and Derek thanks to Artemis showing up-" freewёbnoνel.com

"She was there? Did I miss the opportunity to see the Goddess? Quickly, tell me what she was wearing or what did she say? If the moon Goddess is going to show up you all should tell that to everyone. Now I am going to behind all the gossip," Cecilia sighed as she pictured how anyone attending would have all eyes on them to hear the news. "Honey," she waved her shoulders around like a child.

"Save it Cecilia and listen to what I have to say. I don’t want anyone coming around us saying what happened at the trial. I was looking forward to having a hunt with those humans and now they will be living here amongst werewolves. I have said that boy does not make a good leader but no one listens to me," Graham mumbled taking a seat at the table with his second wife. freewēbnoveℓ.com

"Well, you would have been had you turned into the alpha. Why did it skip you and go to your brother’s son? That must have been embarrassing. You were probably filled with joy expecting to become our leader and then he just snatched it from you poor soul," Cecilia said, not noticing the grim expression on her husband’s face.

"Thank you, Cecilia, for the reminder. I have the cruel memory stuck in my mind and it is what fuels my hatred for that boy. Since he was a little boy I always hated him and I was right to do so. He stole what belonged to me-"

"Technically, it belonged to your brother, and had he not died at war it would’ve gone to Vincent anyway-"

"Cecilia!" Graham banged his fists against the table to shut her up. "Whose side are you on? Are you my wife or not?"

Cecilia looked at Graham wide-eyed because of his outburst. "You scared me, you psycho. I’m just saying what anyone else on the outside would say. What’s so special about being in charge other than the money? You’ll have to be on the front lines of wars against vampires or humans. And we’ll have to attend those trials all the time. You have just enough control as you are now. Many of the people here come to you for help instead of Vincent. Stop stressing about him."

"I will not stop until I have become the alpha. I love you, Cecilia but you need to be a little supportive."

"At first I was but then all you ever talk about is Vincent and this neverending dream of you becoming the alpha. I would like for us to talk about anything else. The weather, how my day is going, or for us to go on dates. Anything other than having to listen to you talk about your freaking nephew that you don’t even like. I would prefer if we heard about Victor for a change. He’s the one that kind of likes me," Cecilia said as she picked out the jewelry she was going to buy and put the others back in the box.

Graham didn’t have an issue with the younger boy and treated Victor like his younger son but the boy was too loyal to his brother. "Has he not responded to the invitation for you to throw him a party?"

"Nope and I heard he is preparing to throw one for himself so it’s no use reaching out to him. We should just attend with a good gift or something. Find a good lady friend for him to occupy himself with and hopefully settle down. Victor has lived all alone in that house since he moved away from his brother. Think of a wonderful gift to keep him on your side."

"Hmm. What on earth could that boy want? On the other hand, I need you to get close to that woman living with Vincent but you’ll have to be careful. After what I saw her do to Marge, she isn’t someone to underestimate but if I play my cards right I can use her. Vincent won’t be able to keep her locked away in his house forever. I want you to have your little friends send word back to you immediately if they see her out somewhere," Graham planned to strike Vincent where it would hurt.

"Sure darling but it will cost you," Cecile smiled, turning the box of jewelry she wasn’t going to buy towards her husband. In life, you shouldn’t do everything for free even if the person was your husband.

Graham sighed pulling the box closer to him. "We have to talk about how many things you buy Cecilia. You always go above and beyond the budget I give to you each week. If you keep this up, we won’t have enough funds to live this kind of lifestyle in the future."

"Then you should open up more businesses to make sure we always have money flowing in. You spend more money than me because you always have those men watching Vincent’s home and they charge a pretty high price. I am pretty sure Vincent knows you are watching his home. I would hate to believe we are going broke." She had her eyes set on Graham as a partner because he was a Lawerence and they had an endless amount of wealth. She wanted the finer things in life and only a Lawerence could give her that.

"We are not anywhere close to going broke but you spend more money than we bring in on a week we will. If I knew having you as a wife would have been so expensive I would have-"

"Stuck with your first wife?" Cecilia chuckled at his ridiculous statement. She wouldn’t allow him to finish that sentence himself. "Go right ahead and see if she’ll want you after you have already married me. You wanted someone young who would listen to what you said as long as you could offer this grand lifestyle in exchange, remember? You got what you asked for. I married you for your money and a little bit of love while you married me because of how I looked."

Cecilia could admit she loved money more than she loved her husband but Graham himself knew that was the type of person he signed up for. It was hard to stay happy when he wasn’t allowing her to buy the things she wanted. ’I knew I should have gone after Vincent instead,’ she thought to herself as she watched her husband look through the jewelry. Vincent gave off the aura of wealth while her husband gave off cheap.

"I’ll do it for free and I won’t spend past my allowance anymore as long as I get to pick out a new dress for Victor’s birthday celebration. That woman is no doubt going to be attending and if she is in need of a dress, Vincent will take her to Cherry. I will go to the dressmaker from time to time in order to meet the woman. If you one day become the leader you better not try to divorce me and marry a younger woman," she warned him because the wife of the leader was not something she would easily give up. Plus, she knew many of his dark little secrets.

"I won’t," Graham lied to her face. He had enough of being around Cecilia when she was only after his money. He wanted to have a marriage like his first one when he had been in love with his wife but he screwed that up. There was no point in looking back now. "I expect that by the time Victor’s party is over you’ll have introduced yourself to that woman and invited her over here. "

"Invite? Why don’t we just steal her away one time?" Cecilia deviously proposed. She had a bad side just like her husband and couldn’t stand to watch Vincent just have any woman who was not even a wolf by his side. "We should plot to take her while everyone is distracted at the party."
