Chapter 118: Trust me (1)

"Forgive me, it’s just surprising to have a plant talk to me like this. I’m sorry for thinking about killing you but it’s just that it is a wolf community and you are known to make them sick. I’m sorry," she apologized, regretting that she almost killed it. Aurora was surprised at how easy it was to do this when she didn’t intend to. What was with her body doing the opposite of what she wanted?

"If it’s surprising, why don’t you stop doing it? I’m a plant. I’m not supposed to be talking to anyone. And don’t apologize to me. I don’t have feelings like that for you to hurt."

"But still, I considered killing you for a moment and that wasn’t right. No one can enter my bedroom without giving me permission, so I could easily hide you in here," she decided on doing just that. She was excited to speak with the wolf’s bane because it had been here when she arrived so maybe it could tell her something about her past? But how was it here in perfect condition without a sign of withering away? That had to be because of her right?

"I don’t care whether or not I die. I’ve been here in this room for a long time. Can you hurry up and kill me?"

"Why would you want to die? Don’t you want me to put you in the garden or something? You’ll be the only one of your kind down there but still, it’s better than being locked away in this room with no sunlight or death. How did you survive for this long without sunlight or water?" She wondered if Vincent had been coming inside to take care of it while she was living with the Hamiltons.

"How am I supposed to know? I’m just a plant. I’m not even supposed to be talking with you but you’re doing some weird thing to make me do it. Are you going to burn me or not? If not, I want to go back to normal where you and I couldn’t speak to each other."

This plant was definitely much different from the others that spoke with her. "I’ll leave you be but do you have any idea how I can speak with you? Is there something that you suddenly felt?"

"I don’t know. A little tiny person with wings visited me once before and made me come alive when they threw something at me. Perhaps they just wanted all of the secrets I knew about the people visiting this room. Those are nosey little things. That’s probably how you do it but without throwing something on me. Goodbye." freewēbnoveℓ.com

"Goodbye," Aurora muttered, not wanting to annoy the wolf’s bane for much longer. "Tiny person with wings? Is that what people call fairies? They can make plants come alive too? But I’m not tiny nor do I have wings. I’m just a...I came from a..." she trailed off, not certain how to explain her relationship with Artemis and how she came to be. "Why is this all so complicated?" She smacked her head down on the desk in front of her.

Why couldn’t life be simple where she just magically had all her memories back, understood how to use whatever powers it was she had, and knew all the information in the world about tiny flying people and werewolves? Why was the world so complicated that her powers did the opposite of what she wanted?

"Should I just forget everything and live like a normal person? No talking to trees or plants. Just live like every normal person with wolves," she muttered, making the normal life sound far out of reach because she was living with wolves. She could count how many normal people lived with werewolves on one hand. The answer was zero because no matter how hard she might try, she would never be normal.

Aurora pushed the wolf’s bane further back on the desk. She had no idea how it appeared so healthy in a room without sunlight but some questions were better off left unanswered. "What else can I do that does not concern plants? Artemis didn’t seem like the type of person to create someone all for the sake of growing and destroying flowers. What was I made for?"

Everyone had to ask themselves this question once in their life but for her, it was entirely different. Why was she created by a Goddess? The answer was locked in her mind belonging to her old self. When she was told her memories would be returning soon, she was kind of expecting to have them by now.

Aurora sighed, resting her head against the desk tired of getting nowhere with herself. She wasn’t able to make the plants in the room grow, she almost burned one that she made talk about, she had no idea about the Hamilton family history, and now she added two little girls to her troubles.

She closed her eyes deciding it was best to just relax for a moment then get back to practicing again. Unintentionally, she drifted off to sleep in a matter of seconds. After what felt like an hour’s rest, Aurora woke up stretching her arms eager to get back to what she had been doing earlier but a surprise came over when she felt a cold breeze and realized she was not in her room.

Aurora found herself back in an area surrounded by trees but it wasn’t the place Vincent had chased her in his other form. She looked around to see if it was what she experienced with Vincent before but there was no one around. frёewebηovel.cѳm

"Where have I taken myself now?" She asked herself looking around the area for a sign of another person or at least where someone lived. "Hello!" Aurora called out just in case anyone was nearby to help her. "Maybe this is just a dream this time? Why is everything always in a place like this? I’m here for a reason but I hope nothing jumps out to scare me again. I can’t handle running from something I have no idea about."

She started to walk around to get an idea or clue about why she was here. This time, no one had shown up as Vincent did in what she believed was a dream at that time. "I have to be going around in circles," she concluded after every tree, bush, cloud, and more had all looked like she passed it before. "This is the worst day ever."

"Where are we going?" She heard a young voice similar to her own in the distance. Aurora looked around behind her and noticed that a mountain had magically appeared behind her with a cave right at the bottom. Looking up, she saw that there was a full moon in the sky when just a moment ago, the sky had nothing to offer but clouds.

"Trust me," a familiar voice replied to the earlier question.

Cautiously, Aurora slowly began to follow the voices to see who was talking. She came to the conclusion that maybe she was going to see one of her memories right now. "Why is everything seriously in a forest?" She asked herself once more when the forest grew colder and appeared darker than it was a moment ago.

"Follow me," the familiar voice encouraged her inside the cave under the mountain.

"Any other day this would be a bad idea." Aurora had a gut feeling that she shouldn’t enter the cave but she was already here and she desperately wanted to see who was talking and what was happening on the inside.

"I have a present for your birthday. You just need to trust me Aurora," the voice said, becoming louder the more she entered the forest.

Entering the cave, Aurora was greeted by countless lit candles placed all over for light. She came across what looked to be a circular stone table in the middle of the cave with weird markings all over.

"Are you sure this is okay?" She heard herself ask the person.

There was no one in the cave right now besides Aurora but she could still hear the conversation clearly. She had an eerie feeling like she had been in the cave before and her heart started to rush for a reason she couldn’t explain. She started feeling that dangerous feeling she had whenever she was around Seth. However, the feeling in the cave was much more intense like it could suffocate her at any given moment.

"Just trust me. You can always trust me," the person sounded to be whispering the words to her in a convincing way but Aurora right now did not believe that she could trust whoever it was. Her breathing quickened when she started walking around the stone table to get a better look at the markings. They looked something out of the book she had bought from the witches.

"What is this place," she muttered, running her hand against the markings. Aurora gasped when she suddenly felt something wrapping around her hand to keep her close against the stone table.
