Chapter 107: Problems (4)

"Did you know you can change the colors, Aurora? What other color can you do besides red?" He teased further, keeping his line of sight on her blushing cheeks. That decides it, red was his favorite color.

"Go away," she pushed him back from teasing her. "Your breath stinks," she lied and stepped away to where he wouldn’t be able to reach out and grab her. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

Vincent is amused by her words. "Really," he checked his breath by blowing air into his hand and smelling it. "Smells good to me but maybe you need a second opinion to confirm it," Vincent took a step forward.

"No-!"

"Aurora! Oh, I’m sorry," Mari apologized after she opened the library door and realized she had interrupted Aurora’s time with Vincent. "I’ll wait back out here till you are done." freēwebnovel.com

"No," Aurora said, running past Vincent to get away from him and his games. Being alone with him was something she should never do but how easy will that be when it was just the two of them living here?

"You shouldn’t run away from me, Aurora. Wolves love a hunt," he referenced the title of the book she picked up earlier. He became a little worried when she almost slipped running up the stairs but seeing her quickly get up to keep running, he felt entertained by her behavior. "This woman will be the death of me."

With Aurora gone, he went back to where she placed back the book title the hunt. Vincent picked up the book and read its contents. It wasn’t something he wanted Aurora to read. He wasn’t expecting her to find the library while he was away because there were some books he wanted to hide from her.

Vincent hadn’t lied when he said his pack didn’t take part in the hunt anymore but there were other packs that took joy in still doing it. The hunt wasn’t a pretty sight to someone not used to it and he didn’t plan for her to witness it again.

There were some wolves in his community who wanted to continue the hunt as a tradition to get back at their enemies but Vincent forbade it. Vincent tried to avoid anything that would cause bloodshed from his own people or from someone else just for the sake of fun. They had more important matters to be worried about.

It was mostly the rich who wanted the hunt to begin again and suggested they hunt less fortunate wolves who were no use to the community. Little did they know, he wanted to have a hunt of his own to kill all of the idiots in the community. These fools wanted to hunt for fun but not go out and defend their homes against the vampires when the time came.

Vincent stopped on a page which showed a creature similar to the alpha biting into the shoulder of a young girl. He stared at the beast’s eyes and found them similar to his eyes like he was the one in the book. He smacked the book shut before thinking of himself doing cruel things.

"I need to smoke," he placed the book under his arm to take away from Aurora’s sight. There were some things left unknown while her stay here was still fresh. Later on, she’ll learn many secrets of the wolves but right now was not the best time. He walked back up the stairs, closing the door behind him.

Another day went by quickly and came upon the time for dinner. Aurora sat at the table, this time not at the head of it to leave the seat empty for Vincent. Mari requested to leave early as tonight was the birthday of her youngest sibling so Aurora gave her permission to leave. This made Aurora start to think about her money as she wanted to give Mari a gift for her younger sibling.

She couldn’t depend on Vincent forever regardless of what anyone told her to do. She was not the type of person to enjoy using someone else. Aurora knew she had to come up with an idea of how she would make money during her stay here. She never had a job as far as she could remember but she was willing to get one.

"Ready for the breath check?" Vincent asked as he came to the table. He found her in deep thought and wondered what she was thinking about. "I might fret Cherry but the dresses she makes are wonderful or maybe it’s your beauty helping the dress. I should give you all the credit instead."

"You must have all the women losing their minds over your words," Aurora said because of how much of a charmer he was. He did it so naturally each time that it was starting to amaze her. Vincent would certainly be the man everyone would want their daughter to be married to back at home.

"I’ll believe that when I have you losing your mind," He grinned, picking up a shiny red apple from a bowl on the table and taking a bite of it. Vincent sat at the head of the table since Aurora didn’t.

"You must really like apples," Aurora commented due to the way he was quickly eating it. "Dinner will start soon if you are this hungry. What you are doing is considered torture to the apple. Next time, allow me to slice the apples for you so I don’t feel you are about to choke."

Vincent snorted, placing the remains of the apple on a plate. "You have a lot of jokes within you, Aurora."

"Actually, I was being serious."

"Well, the way you say it is funny. Here, I want another apple," he handed her an apple along with a knife from the table for her to cut it. One apple was more than enough but how could he turn down her offer to feed him?

Aurora shook her head, not surprised by Vincent’s actions already even though she had only known him for two days. "Do you want a particular shape-"

Her question was interrupted by loud knocks on Vincent’s door. A worker walked to the door while Vincent and Aurora stayed where they were. After small chatter Aurora couldn’t hear, the worker came to Vincent with the message and said, "Derek wishes for you to meet him at the gates for he has a problem after his trip today. He says it’s important the lady comes along with you as it involves her."
