Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Whispers on Ancient Walls
Elara
Charlotte’s voice was full of malice. She was basically saying I wasn’t worthy of serving any pack.
My eyes turned cold. A sarcastic smile played on my lips.
I was about to fight back when Professor Williams stepped in.
Her face looked stern.
"What do you mean ’couldn’t make it’? Building businesses in the human world takes even more skill for our kind! Many successful Alphas have pack enterprises across multiple industries! “
“Luna Academy trains independent she-wolves, not petty girls who tear down their classmates ! You narrow-minded pups, do you think putting others down makes you better?"
"Though you’ve graduated, I must remind you - Luna Academy teaches she-wolves to be independent and strong!”
“ Hannah became a successful pack warrior, Jessica works with the Wolf Council. You all have unique value. The sisterhood you formed here should be stronger than petty jealousy."
Hannah was the first to cheer. "Professor Williams is absolutely right! Every Luna Academy graduate is making her mark!"
I watched Charlotte’s face turn red.
"Don’t worry, Professor Williams. Some wolves will never understand what vision means."My tone was casual, but it hit Charlotte hard.
"Hey, Elara," Jessica said, "if Professor Williams ever wants a vacation, your hotel better give her the VIP treatment!"
I smiled warmly. "When Professor Williams stays with us, everything’s on me." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Charlotte had been so mean earlier. Now she was turning red and white. The verbal dominance display clearly stung.
I was afraid that pushing someone too hard might trigger her wolf’s aggression.
Thankfully, Professor Williams smoothly redirected the conversation. "We still have some time before I need to leave. How about we check out the old training facilities? They’ve completely upgraded all the combat equipment since you graduated."
Everyone agreed eagerly.
The training room had indeed been completely renovated. The equipment was new, the walls freshly painted, and even the Luna etiquette training materials had been upgraded.
Someone sighed with nostalgia. "I wanted to see where we used to practice moon ceremonies." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"I remember how hard we competed for the Outstanding Student Award," another classmate said.
I headed toward the exit. "Hannah, I’m going to walk in the back garden alone. I’ll meet you at the main entrance later."
Behind Luna Academy lay a grove of silver oak trees. Deep within stood an ancient wishing wall where, legend said, the Moon Goddess would grant wishes for fated mates.
I walked toward it step by step. Once, I had walked this path countless times, my heart always fluttering with hope.
Now, I felt nothing but calm.
It was time to say goodbye to foolish teenage dreams.
When the wall came into view, I could see countless prayers left by generations of she-wolves. Descriptions of ideal Alphas, yearnings for mate bonds, layer upon layer of wishes.
I was so lost in thought that I lost track of time. It wasn’t until Hannah’s voice called from behind that I snapped back to reality.
"Elara!"
"Why did you come all the way out here? Come on, everyone’s heading to dinner!"
I turned, smiling easily. "Coming."
The sun was setting. Golden light filtered through the silver oak leaves onto the stone wall. Several ravens called from the branches overhead - a sign of powerful wolf magic.
Hannah’s eyes suddenly widened in surprise as she looked at the wall.
"Elara, come quick! Look at this!"
Puzzled, I walked over. "What is it, Hannah?"
Hannah pointed excitedly at the wall. "Look there! Someone added something new!"
I looked up and saw it. A pattern carefully drawn in red paint. Countless tiny crescent moons and wolf prints arranged to spell out "ELARA" in elegant letters.
The paint looked fresh, as if done recently. In the sunset’s glow, the red letters pulsed with magical energy.
"Who could have done this?" Hannah gasped. "It must be some powerful Alpha who fell for you at first sight!"
I shook my head, confused. "That’s impossible. This is Luna Academy. Alphas can’t even enter our territory."
"Then it’s even more mysterious! Maybe some Alpha had his pack members do this just for you!"
A strange feeling washed over me.
My wolf stirred restlessly inside me, recognizing something familiar about the scent lingering on the wall.
Hannah leaned in to examine it closely. "This paint is enchanted. Definitely not something ordinary wolves would have access to."
I stared at the shimmering letters, trying to make sense of it. "The paint looks so fresh... it must be some powerful Alpha’s message to a student who happens to share my name."
Hannah straightened up, giving me a curious look.
She paused, studying my face. "What were you doing out here anyway, Elara?"
My heart quickened, but I quickly composed myself. "Just walking, remembering the old days."
"Let’s go. We shouldn’t keep everyone waiting."
As we left, I couldn’t help glancing back at my glimmering name.
My wolf whined softly, as if recognizing the magical signature. An unexpected warmth spread through my chest.
At the restaurant, our group gathered around a large table. One of the girls excitedly announced, "Have you all heard about Alpha Zack?"
"Of course! His Blackwood Pack is elite - they’ve existed for centuries! I’ve heard countless Luna Academy graduates dream of becoming his Luna!"
"He’s holding his mating ceremony soon! I know his chosen mate - she studied at our Luna Academy for a while! When she heard about our reunion, she wanted to come meet her senior sisters! Professor Williams, would that be alright?"
"She’s certainly welcome," Professor Williams nodded.
Everyone agreed.
Only Hannah and I exchanged troubled glances. Our faces darkened.
