Chapter 92: Chapter 92
Alois couldn’t shake Slade off him, the groves above his eyebrows deepened. "Don’t you have other things to do?" He griped when Slade waited for him to finish competing in the archery competition, sticking to him even when he spoke to Henri and after the Prince left.
"You look troubled, your aim was a few centimeters off," Slade said, reaching out to touch Alois’ shoulder.
Alois sidestepped him. "It wasn’t."
"It was." freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
"Go away."
"Don’t be like that now, let’s go play a game together, this is the only chance we’ll get." Slade said in a convincing manner.
Alois eyed him up, "You always win, why would I fight a lost battle?"
"Fine, suit yourself." Slade said, trying to pat his shoulders again.
This time Alois wasn’t paying attention so Slade’s hand made contact. Alois immediately jumped backward but it was too late.
He muttered curses under his breath as he glanced at his shoulder to find that Slade had slapped a handful of honey on his dark red silk shirt.
’Where had the asshole even hidden the honey?’ freēwēbnovel.com
Slade had already hot-footed it out of the Archery range by the time he looked up again. So that had been the reason he came over, like Alois expected anything more.
He actually had, for the briefest of moments, when Slade said that he looked troubled. He had actually thought that Slade could tell that he actually had a lot of worries on his mind but then again, it was Slade.
It wasn’t that his older brother didn’t care about him, but it was in a ’sacrifice his life to save him’ kind of way and not a ’heartfelt conversations over fruity soda drinks’ kind of way
He still had to find Cecil and he had no idea where to begin searching. But first, he had to change out of his shirt before he got mauled by insects seeking the sweetness of the honey slathered over him.
Slade had merged into the crowd and watched his younger brother fume for a few moments before making the decision to return to the dorm buildings for a fresh change of shirt.
He might have bumped into his brother’s roommate earlier and saw him heading to the dorms. He was just trying to help his brother who was a bit slow, nothing to it.
With that, he disappeared into the crowd again, his hands in his pocket as he languidly meandered across the Field.

Dodie and Fleur decided to do a little touring of the Field, promising to return to the pool before Nael had to compete.
Nael had to bite his tongue to stop himself from urging them to take their time.
"Do you need to eat before you swim?" Errol asked as they made their way over to the pool, alone for the first time all day. Nael held his hand but it was nothing new, it would have been odder for them to just simply walk side by side without touching.
Nael didn’t need to but he almost agreed just so that they wouldn’t have to go to the pool. Because if they did, they would be separated again.
"No, but we could go after you’re done running." He suggested.
Errol’s eyes brightened at this. "We could all go together, perhaps get some blankets and have a little picnic."
Nael died a little inside listening to Errol ramble on about having a nice big picnic with everyone attending. But he agreed nonetheless because he would go with whatever Errol wanted.
The captain was already waiting for him when he got to the pool and of course, the deputy captain as well. It was going to be a really long day.

Alois made his way down to the dorms, noting that the students around got sparser and sparser the further he got away from the Field. By the time he got to the walkway, there were only a couple of loitering students here and there.
Unsurprisingly, the students around were a mix of Alpha and Omegas. As they were free to tour the college grounds, they made the most of it.
The dorm building was even more devoid of students, Alois running into only a single Alpha on his way to his floor, and said Alpha was on his way out.
It was odd to be at the dorms on a day like this, if Alois didn’t have to change, he wouldn’t have returned to the dorms because no one else would either, not wanting to miss out on what was going on outside.
So Alois already had his shirt half off before he got to his dorm room, the stickiness of the honey making him uncomfortable. He paused at the open doorway of his room, locking gazes with Cecil who had been previously searching through his wardrobe.
They stayed in their frozen positions for a few endless seconds. Alois looked pleasantly surprised to find the very person he had been looking for, uncaring that Cecil had half his body in his wardrobe.
While Cecil was the physical embodiment of horror, the feeling rooting him to the ground. He hadn’t expected Alois to return to the dorm room so early, as a matter of fact, he hadn’t expected him to return at all.
He should have been spending the rest of the day with Giselle and the rest of the Omegas sticking to him like butterflies to honey.
Alois broke away from the spell first, stepping inside and closing the door behind him. "What are you doing?" He asked casually, taking his shirt off completely and dropping it in the clothes bin on his way over to Cecil.
Cecil was still frozen in place, his eyes wide. "I... I..." He stumbled over his words.
It wasn’t because he didn’t know what to say because he knew exactly what he was doing. He had headed straight for the dorms to get away from the crowd and to hole up on his bed feeling miserable and sorry for himself.
It had started off like that but he didn’t expect the misery and self-depreciation to hit as hard as it did, and somehow he found himself searching through Alois’ clothes to find some comfort in his scent.
So how exactly was he supposed to explain all that to Alois?
