Chapter 83: Chapter 83
Seton was gone for now so he didn’t need to be worried about Henri’s safety at his club but it wouldn’t hurt to drop by the Horse riding club on his way back from Professor Hoskins’ office just in case he had decided to go horse-riding after all...
But no... if he did that, then he would be late for his meeting with Lyon, they only had so much time until it was time for dinner.
Dio gathered his hair out of his face himself, watching Louis with evident concern in his blank eyes. He liked seeing Louis happily helping others out but he was starting to worry that maybe it was a little too much.
"I’ll see you later, Dio." Louis waved, walking out of their shared dorm room.
Dio didn’t respond, untying the ties around his wrists himself. It took a little maneuvering to do but he didn’t want to cause more trouble for Louis so he learned to do it himself.
He had hoped that maybe Louis would be able to take a break when they went on their field trip but he just found more people to take care of.
Dio didn’t feel right bringing it up with Louis because firstly, conversing had never been his strong suit, and secondly, it felt a little hypocritical of him.
Louis had taken care of him from the moment they met, it would be selfish of him to stop Louis from doing the same to others.
Dio would prefer it if he had all of Louis’ attention but that wasn’t even the issue here. The issue was that Louis was working himself to the bone, which made Dio worried.
It was odd because Louis had always seemed so self-sufficient, Dio looked up to him because he always seemed so balanced and could do everything. Dio was the unstable one, Dio was the one with all of the problems, Dio was the one no one wanted.
He looked at his wrists that he had wrapped again with a fresh pair of silk ties, unimpressed with his work, Louis would have done it better.
Dio used to follow him everywhere before but gradually, he found himself staying back more and more until Louis stopped asking him to come with.
Dio just didn’t want to be a bother, not to mention, no matter how hard he tried to meld into the background, Louis always ended up having to take care of him or explain something for him. If his presence only gave Louis more things to do then he would be better off just staying back in their dorm room.
Dio rolled from one end of the bed to the other, sprawled out on the big bed. It was a luxury he never got to enjoy so it was a favorite pastime of his, just rolling around on the joined beds in the quiet, empty dorm room.
He had no explanation for why he didn’t tell Henri what he was asked to, his mouth simply refused to cooperate. Especially as Henri was one of the few people who didn’t throw all their weight on Louis.
He didn’t have anything against the Omega, they were friends even which was saying a lot for someone like Dio but every time he saw Louis fuss over him, it made him feel a myriad of emotions.
He had ignored it all this while but would have to address it soon. College was so complicated, it was much easier when all Dio had was weekly visits to Louis’ home and their weekend sleepovers.

The short break given to the students after the field trip went by far too quickly and too soon it was the start of a new week
Not just any week but the week before tests, it was like the academy had given them a little reprieve before proceeding to drown them in schoolwork once more. freeweɓnovel.cøm
There were four tests held at the college once every two months before the final examinations, and they all contributed marks to the overall score so they couldn’t be taken lightly.
Even Henri, who tended to be avoided by his classmates due to his outwardly cold attitude, was approached by some on specific topics they didn’t understand. This meant that Louis had a lot more to attend to, even more students asking him to tutor them.
Dio never had to try too hard with education, he wasn’t educated by his caregivers before meeting Louis. He didn’t care about learning either and had done it just for Louis, and well, Louis’ mother.
He was brilliant enough to keep up with Louis even so, which meant that he was fine studying by himself for the upcoming tests.
He had to watch Louis run himself to the ground even worse that week though, even Henri noticing it enough to say something about it. Dio was happy that Louis had been confronted on his slowly worsening habits but he was spiteful that it had been Henri that did it.
It should have been him.
But it wasn’t...
The night before the tests, Dio woke up late at night to find that Louis had fallen asleep at his studying desk. He gingerly moved his best friend to their shared bed, watching him with a proud expression on his face after tucking Louis in.
Doing the caring was nice but Dio still wasn’t pleased that Louis had fallen asleep at his studying desk so many times that week because he was too busy to study and when he finally found the time to study, he was exhausted.
Dio sat cross-legged beside Louis to watch him sleep, deep in thought. There were dark bags under his friend’s eyes and his usually vibrant golden-brown hair was a little pale.
Louis was never this haggard when he was taking care of just him, would it go back to being that way if Dio were to relapse?
He glanced down at his wrists, it was just the desperation talking, he would never do that to Louis, even if he had good intentions.
Besides, this was just a particularly bad week for everyone at the academy, he was certain that Louis would be able to get proper rest after the tests were done.
