Chapter 82: Chapter 82
"Very well, Henri." Sir Bolton straightened his shoulders.
"I’ll also personally let my mother know of this so I’ll have to task the Head Chancellor to keep it from the media as well." Henri added.
Bolton beamed, this was going far better than he hoped for. "Certainly, your Highness." He slipped up.
Henri didn’t bother correcting him again, letting it go.
"Investigations will begin into the matter right away, I’ll handle it personally," Bolton said earnestly.
"Will I be required to give a statement?"
"If it’s no trouble." The Head Chancellor said, getting to his feet.
Henri mimicked his actions, getting to his feet as well. "I’ll have it submitted to your table after breakfast tomorrow." He was quick to say, eager to return to the comfort of his dorm room.
He hadn’t been able to get any sleep before lunch and he hoped to do so then. Henri bowed slightly to the Head Chancellor after he was dismissed, making his way back through the hallway that Sir Bolton’s secretary had brought him through.
Telling his mother what had happened himself was the smoothest way to break the news to his parents. He would just squeeze it right into his letter to her about how his field trip had gone.
He absolutely trusted Sir Bolton to handle the matter and was almost certain that he wouldn’t be seeing either Rowe or Seton again. Which meant that the rest of his school year was going to be a breeze, seeing as his two major antagonists were both out. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.
Henri had a single goal in mind and that was to spend three peaceful years in college and then return to the Royal castle to take on the duties required of him as the crown prince and the heir to the throne of Reinhold.
He had kind of lost track of that by attracting so many friends in just his first month of college. But even that wasn’t so bad, it was still peaceful. Nael was too busy with Errol, and Audie, and Valentin were too busy to bother him anymore.
He had also managed not to stand out too much which was a pleasant surprise in all honesty. Henri had expected that his status as an Omega would be the bane of his existence but it must be everyone growing up with the knowledge of it. Their Prince might have been hidden from the public eye but his status was well known to everyone in the country and beyond, so it wasn’t exactly startling.
When he almost got to his dorm room, he remembered that he promised to give Louis an explanation. He sighed and turned around, that was his only trouble right now, Louis.
He knew that the Alpha meant well, Henri just liked his space.
Dio was the one to open the door when Henri knocked, he was shirtless with his signature silk wrist ties on.
Henri did wonder what they were covering but he wasn’t curious or nosy enough to try to find out. If he was supposed to know about it, then he would be told. freewebnovёl.ƈom
"Hey, Dio... Is Louis in?" Henri asked, a hint of hopefulness in his voice as he looked past the tall skinny Alpha.
Henri had his fingers crossed that Louis would not be in, then he could escape the Alpha and take a well-deserved nap on his oh-so-soft bed. freewēbnoveℓ.com
"Lou is..."
*haha, i didn’t do that on purpose, i hope you get the joke...*
"Lou is..." Dio trailed off, his eyes down. His hair was also down, obscuring his unique eyes.
Henri waited expectantly for Dio to complete his sentence and when he didn’t add anything after several long seconds, he beamed.
"He’s not in then? Alright, I’ll see him at dinn..."
"Henri?" Louis’ voice came from behind him, making his eyes widen.
Henri turned around with a strained smile. "Oh, Louis, I thought you weren’t in."
Louis looked from Henri to Dio and frowned, "I... I stepped out for a bit, I hope I didn’t keep you waiting."
Dio still had his eyes fixed on his feet, not moving an inch from where he stood in the doorway.
Henri waved a hand. "Not at all, Sir Bolton just wanted me to make a statement on what happened so that he could begin a proper investigation," Henri said quickly. "I’ll be in my room doing just that, see you both at dinner." He added before Louis could say a word, hurrying off.
Louis glanced at Dio briefly before watching Henri hurry inside his dorm room, he waited till the Omega was safe inside before turning around.
The frown on his face was still in place and that was because he had explicitly asked Dio to tell Henri to wait for him if he came by, yet it looked like Dio hadn’t done that because Henri was just about to leave before he showed up.
It was almost like his roommate didn’t want Henri to meet him.
Dio silently shuffled to their joined beds and got comfortable, oblivious to the slowly growing storm in Louis’ head.
Louis shrugged it off, he was reading too much into things again. He wouldn’t be surprised if Henri had tried to leave even after Dio relayed his message.
Louis was well aware that Henri didn’t appreciate his insistence to look after him, he tolerated it nonetheless but he would prefer it if it didn’t happen at all.
Louis stepped forward, realizing that he had been standing in one spot for far too long lost in thought. He had a lot of things that he needed to do, Lyon had requested his help on a recipe before they went off on their field trip, he had to assist Sir Hoskins on a project the class would be doing, he had to tutor a couple of classmates after dinner... the list went on and on.
He was certain that Henri wouldn’t leave his dorm room after going in, the only thing that brought his friend out of his safe space was food and classes... and horses.
