Chapter 80: Chapter 80

Errol immediately fished the Omega out, Valentin apologizing profusely when his head popped out of the water.

Henri found his footing again thanks to Errol’s help, glaring at Valentin with his face half in the water.

Valentin apologized again, bowing so deeply that his face broke the water’s surface.

"Go fish with Jann." Errol chased him off, Valentin immediately obeying.

A little distance away from them, Cedric was clapping happily as Nael tried to drown Audie who cheated on their race.

"I’ll be right back." Errol apologized anxiously, hurrying over to them before someone truly got hurt.

Louis caught up to Henri at this point, a sheepish smile on his face. "Do you want to watch us catch fish?"

Henri straightened up out of the water, displeased at how high the water level was on him compared to the others. He glared covertly at Valentin who was laughing over something with Jann.

"Fine but stop sticking to me, go play with Dio or something, he looks like he’s waiting for you." He shooed off the clingy Alpha.

Louis looked over to Dio like he was just noticing the Alpha’s presence for the first time, a smile on his face as he splashed over to him. "Dio! Were you waiting for me? Let’s go catch fish!"

Dio immediately glowed, letting Louis pull him along to join the others. His long hair was pulled back from his face and held in place with one of the many scrunchies Louis owned.

Henri watched them leave and sneakily followed behind them, crawling across the bottom of the lake so that only the tip of his head poked out of the water.

It was actually easier than he expected to join them in the lake than he imagined, well he had no intentions of taking off his shirt, which made it an easier decision to make.

He snuck behind Valentin, paying no attention to their conversation about where the best spot with fishes was. It was probably a bit childish seeing as he wasn’t actually upset with Valentin and the Alpha had apologized.

But maybe it was the bright sun reflecting off the surface of the lake or the blue, cloudless sky because as soon as he found the perfect angle, he shot out of the water, grabbing Valentin by the shoulder and slamming him into the water.

Everyone fell silent for a few milliseconds before burtsing out laughing, Valentin sputtering as he rose out of the water.

Errol gave him a half-hearted scolding but even that wasn’t enough to wipe off Henri’s satisfied smile.

He actually made the effort to learn to catch fishes with his bare hand, although he never managed to catch any and flailed harder than the slippery fishes when Louis gave him one of his catches to hold.

Valentin got his payback by slipping a fish down Henri’s wet shirt, the Omega nearly kicking him in the teeth in his panic.

Henri stomped out of the lake in a mock rage, immediately going back in the lake when a cool breeze blew past him in his sopping wet clothes.

Cecil’s group woke up in a less chaotic manner, Cecil nearly headbashing Alois in shock when he woke up to find himself sleeping on the shirtless Alpha.

He somehow managed to untangle them and get out of the sleeping bag in one piece, albeit ungracefully.

Alois had been awake for a while before Cecil but his roommate looked really peaceful sleeping so he let him sleep.

It was entertaining to watch how jumpy and panicky he got around Alois even when the Alpha wasn’t trying to do anything to him.

It was already time to wake up so they left their tent, the other members of the group doing the same. After clean up, it was time for breakfast, Hunt and Terrell immediately offering to gather wood.

The rest of the group immediately fell into their roles, finding something to keep themselves busy. The ones who didn’t have anything to do, got comfortable on the tree stumps.

It was in the middle of the bustling that Alois found a moment to slip away, following after the two seniors that had offered to gather wood for making breakfast.

Hunt and Terrell had wanted some privacy to discuss, but mostly they wanted to be out of Alois’ line of sight, the Alpha creeped them out.

"Do you think he knew that we would try to set his tent on fire?" Hunt asked fearfully, absently picking up dried up branches.

Terrell scoffed to hide his own unease. "That’s impossible, it was probably a coincidence that he wasn’t inside it."

"Yeah..." Hunt trailed off, remembering how composed the Alpha had been when he found his tent burned to the ground. "It has to be a coincidence... Yeah..." He muttered.

"Coincidence?" A third unfamiliar voice repeated. "Think the others would buy that if they found your bloated bodies in the river?" Alois called down from a low hanging branch.

Hunt jumped in shock, losing most of his sticks.

Terrell also jumped back but it was a defensive action, his eyes narrowing.

Alois jumped down and held out his hands. "It’s two to one and you both have weapons, not a very fair fight, don’t you think?" He said patronizingly, walking closer.

Terrell and Hunt immediately backed off, walking closer to each other to give the other support. They both held sticks and like Alois had given them ideas, they didn’t throw them all away.

Alois cracked him knuckles as he walked closer. "That reminds me, I’ve got to remember to say thanks." He murmured before introducing Hunt to his fist.

"Where did Alois go?" Leeson asked, looking straight at Cecil who frowned.

"Why are you asking me? I was at the lake getting water with you." He defended.

"Maybe he’s in your tent." Perry chimed in, heading off in that direction.

"He’s not!" Cecil blustered, his face reddening as he immediately hurried to stop Perry from checking without thinking.

This earned him odd looks from everyone, even those seated on the tree stumps.

"So you do know where he is." Leeson rubbed in salt, quickly putting distance between himself and Cecil. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

Cecil stomped forward and threw open the flaps of his tent. "See, he’s not in there!" He aggressively announced, wondering why he got so worked up at the suggestion of Alois being in his tent.

The entire group literally knew that they had shared a tent, it wasn’t exactly shocking news.

"Then where..."

"Stop asking me and go find him yourself if you’re so worried." Cecil glared at Leeson, stomping inside his tent in a huff.

Perry and Leeson shared a look and then shrugged simultaneously, Perry truly ignorant about the reason for Cecil acting so odd.
