Chapter 65: Chapter 65
Cecil crawled inside his tent to take a nap, it was far more exhausting than he had expected to be the leader of a camping group.
Everyone wanted to say something but no one wanted to do anything. It was a miracle that they had all managed to set up their tents and prepare breakfast but right after that, everyone readied to disperse.
Some wanted to go exploring, others wanted to go fishing. Cecil was also guilty as he also wanted to go fishing.
No one wanted to stay behind to keep an eye on the campsite and Cecil was just about to throw in the towel, and let everyone do as they wished when Alois offered to stay behind.
It had been over an hour since that happened and after a failed fishing expedition that quickly changed into them just swimming in the river, Cecil decided to return to the campsite.
The trio of Alphas had also wanted to go fishing but they did their fishing some distance away from Cecil, Perry, and Leeson. The group of four seniors had chosen to go exploring but it wouldn’t be a surprise if they had just gone further down the river as well for a swim.
When he returned to the campsite, nothing was out of place and Alois was nowhere to be found. Cecil wasn’t surprised by this, he had expected it even because if he were in Alois’ shoes, he would also sneak off.
No one wanted to be stuck watching over the campsite, especially as there was no real reason to. The next group was too far away for there to be a possible raid, it was also against the rules to do that. He was exhausted too so he was going to take a short nap. It was just late in the morning on the first day of the field trip, there would be enough time to do everything later.
Cecil took off his boots and crawled into his tent, sprawling on his sleeping bag with a big sigh. It was very tempting to take off his cotton shirt because it was starting to get quite hot in the forest.
Even with the freedom they were given, it was hard not to miss the comfort of a house. Schoolwork might be waiting for them back at the academy but at least the buildings had internal cooling.
He gave in and started on the buttons of his cotton shirt with his eyes closed, he only got past the first few buttons before a quiet rustling alerted him to someone’s presence. He froze, his eyes flying open in consternation which quickly changed to shock.
"Alois?" He whispered in disbelief, fighting the urge to retreat when the other Alpha crawled over him. "What are you doi..."
"Shh," Alois quieted him, amusement dancing in his dark eyes as he listened intently for something.
A few seconds later, loudly thudding footsteps came dangerously close to his tent. freewebnøvel.com
"Cecil! Cecil! Come see! We finally caught a fish!" It was Perry’s voice and he sounded over the moon at his accomplishment.
"Do you think he came back to the campsite?" Leeson asked skeptically when there was no response.
"He said he would." Perry replied.
Cecil’s anxiety shot up higher the longer they hung around the front of his tent discussing because he had no explanation to give them if they caught him rolling around with a half-naked Alois.
He glared up at the Alpha in question who had his hands on either side of his head, wanting to curse him out but unable to say a word. Alois had the nerve to smile down at him too, his sharp white canines peeking out.
Outside, the two Alphas were still having a serious conversation, Perry holding a limp fish.
"What if he’s asleep?" Leeson started to whisper.
The zipper on Cecil’s tent was zipped close and they knew better than to try to open it without his permission.
"It might be why he hasn’t responded." Perry supported, whispering as well.
Inside the tent, Cecil was a few inches away from blowing his cover. He had been quietly laying down, patiently waiting for Leeson and Perry to leave so that he could drag the Alpha on him out of the tent by his ridiculously colored hair and then kick him unconscious.
His entire plan was ruined when Alois started to lower himself.
Cecil stared up at him in horror. "Stay away." He mouthed to Alois, putting up his arms like a barrier.
"My hands are tired." Alois mouthed back to him, a sheepish expression on his face.
Cecil wasn’t having it, "Then roll ove..." He whispered a little too loud prompting Alois to stop his words with a hand which was a terrible idea.
His single hand couldn’t support his weight so he dropped on Cecil, causing him to huff out a breath, wincing at his roommate’s weight.
They both froze up at this, expecting the two idiots outside to hear their brief scuffle.
"Should we just leave then?" Leeson whispered making Cecil let out a sigh of relief, it would seem that they hadn’t heard.
Did they want him to see the fish they caught that much? Or were they just a little stupid?
"But what if he’s not inside his tent at all?" Perry suggested, thoughtfully.
Cecil groaned inwardly, were they doing this to him on purpose? He had tried to ignore it as much as he could but there was no ignoring Alois who was mere inches from him, their bodies pressed up against each other in the humid little tent.
Fortunately, he kept his shirt on because he could only imagine how disastrous it would be if they were both shirtless, laying down skin to skin.
He kept his face turned as far away as possible from Alois while the other Alpha didn’t seem to care about their current proximity. He buried his face in Cecil’s neck, his breathing deepening like he was relaxed enough to fall asleep.
It annoyed Cecil, while he was strung up in his current position, Alois was taking a comfortable nap. He would throw the Alpha off him if he could.
"Maybe we should try searching for him." Perry’s voice drifted over again.
"And if he comes back to the campsite before we find him? What do we do then?" Leeson mused.
Cecil wanted to pull out his hair, could they make up their mind already?! He could almost swear that they had gotten comfortable right in front of his tent just to have this aimless conversation, what if he was actually sleeping?
Alois lifted his head up slightly, he seemed to be the only one enjoying their current situation. "Why is your heart beating so fast?" He whispered softly.
