Chapter 44: Chapter 44
Errol only made it a few steps down the hallway before he crumbled to the ground, sliding down the wall as his vision swam. His head hurt and he felt like throwing up.
’Ugly! Ugly! Ugly!’ Seton sure liked to throw that word around. For the first time, Errol accepted it. His anger wasn’t beautiful, it was a raging fire that consumed him, it was the charred remains of who he once was, it was so, so ugly.
His tears dried up rapidly and he forced himself to his feet, picking up his bag of clothes as he continued his journey. He didn’t like anger very much because the fire burnt out far too quickly, leaving him with nothing.

"I didn’t know you were such good friends with your roommate," Perry noted with a bright expression, unaware that he was digging his own grave.
Cecil gripped his pen so hard it nearly snapped. "We’re not, he’s such a nuisance." He bit out, making Perry flinch backward.
He had specifically asked Alois to stay away from him when they were not in their shared dorm but the dense grass-haired Alpha had not only tagged along with him to the dining room but he had also dogged his every step all the way to his class. It was like having a hound sicced on him.
They were currently in class, his two henchmen were put in the same class as Cecil which was a relief because it was the only time he got some much-needed privacy.
"Uh... are you sure?" Leeson dragged out, jabbing a thumb in the direction of the doorway. "Because he’s here again."
Cecil slowly turned his head in the direction of the doorway, dread choking him. The doorway was filled with none other than Alois, a dangerous smile on his face. "Just ignore him, he’s certainly here for someone else." He said without conviction, looking away.
Perry and Leeson still had their eyes fixed on Alois, Perry clearing his throat nervously. "Cecil? He’s heading in this direction."
"Stop talking about him." He snapped.
"Talking about who?" Alois said with a happy-go-lucky smile from behind Cecil.
Cecil slowly closed his eyes, willing patience and self-control back into his body. His plan was to ignore Alois but he had been shown multiple times that that never worked.
He froze up when he felt Alois place his hands on his shoulders, horror painting his features. "Don’t touch me!" ... and there went his plans to ignore.
"You both don’t mind if I steal him away for a while," Alois said, more a statement than a request.
It wasn’t like Leeson or Perry could turn him down, they had seen firsthand how he had singularly intimidated the best fighters from the wrestling club, they knew how to pick their fights.
"Steal who?" Cecil started to bristle only to stifle a yelp as Alois took his wrist, pulling him out of his seat and out of the classroom.
"You promised to go with me to the cafeteria." Alois said brightly, his grip an iron vise around Cecil’s wrist.
Cecil was incredulous, unable to break free or slow Alois down. "I said no such thing!"

Nael had left for the cafeteria right after the second class of the day ended so he wasn’t privy to the fuss that Alois and Cecil had stirred up minutes later.
He had barely paid attention to the subjects taught which wasn’t much trouble as their first classes were filled with introductory materials, and there wasn’t much to be done yet. Besides, he had far more important matters to worry about.
Nael was well aware of how self-sufficient Errol liked to be which was fine with him but he really hoped that Errol listened to him this one time. This time, he got an easily consumable-sized food for Errol because the last thing he wanted was for the older Alpha to feel bad about wasting food and have a repeat of the previous night.
Nael planned to study his eating habits so he could sufficiently get food that Errol would actually like. He didn’t mind if he had to take up cooking or join the cooking club, he would do it in a heartbeat.
He had to force himself to slow down as he headed for his dorm room, not that he cared what people would think as he sprinted down the walkways but that he didn’t want to jostle Errol’s food.
Nael stopped before the closed door when he got to his dorm room. There was a chance that Errol wouldn’t be inside, then he would have to go searching for him.
Nael should probably be more concerned for his own safety considering that he had pissed off someone like Seton who had a literal cult following but Nael was someone with nothing to lose but Errol. He didn’t particularly care what happened to him as long as they stayed away from Errol.
He knocked instinctively, his lips tugging upwards at the edges when he heard feet pattering towards the door.
"Oh? Nael?" Errol’s light blue eyes went wide. "Why did you knock then? I thought it was someone else." He mumbled, padding back inside the room to resume his position on Nael’s bed.
Nael noted that Errol was still dressed in his clothes and it wiped away all of his panic, his chest feeling lighter as he stepped in and closed the door behind him. "I wanted to be sure you were in." He answered honestly.
Errol steadfastly avoided Nael’s gaze. "I thought it over again and realized that it was best I rested some more." He said huffily to mask the fact that after his confrontation with Seton, he had literally been unable to move for hours.
He hadn’t even noticed the time pass him by, at least he had remembered to clean up and change before Nael returned, he couldn’t be seen as sloppy. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
Nael hummed, walking closer. "I wanted to eat with you." He said, lifting the basket to show Errol.
Errol found that he couldn’t protest this, he had feared that Nael would return with food at midday and had gone over a few responses to turn him down. After his spectacle last night, Errol tended to avoid talking about food. He was relieved that Nael didn’t bring it up as well.
