Chapter 41: Chapter 41
"I expected to see the three of them waiting for us at breakfast," Henri said as he sat down in the dining room, students milling in around them. Chandeliers hung low, the delicious scent of a variety of foods filling the large room.
"As did I."’ Louis murmured, absently correcting Dio’s cutlery-holding technique like it was something he did every other time. It actually was something he did do but only the first time they met, afterward, the three monsters, especially Audie and Valentin always got in between them.
Now that Dio got to sit beside Louis again, Henri noted that he conveniently forgot how to hold his cutleries but he made no mention of it, more concerned about the three monsters, particularly Nael.
Louis said his worries out loud. "Do you think this has something to do with Nael?" He said, helping Dio cut into his roasted duck.
Henri’s response was a non-committal hum, they would find out sooner or later.

Valentin and Audie had truly gone to Nael’s dorm room, it had become a habit that they both forgot that Nael had been in a dark mood the night before until they got to his dorm room.
Their knock on the door was answered by none other than a pale-looking Errol who completely turned as white as a sheet when he saw who had come knocking. He was dressed in clothes that were a little too large for his slender frame and had clearly slept there.
"Errol?" Valentin started, blinking in shock. "What are you doing here?"
Nael stepped forward at this, doing up his sleeve buttons, "He was nice enough to spend the night when I told him I had nightmares." He deadpanned, stepping forward to put himself in between Errol and the other two.
Audie’s stunned expression changed to confusion. "And Seton allowed him?" He mumbled.
Valentin as usual approached it from a different angle. "Why didn’t you come to us instead?"
Nael just pushed them out and closed the door behind him. "I punched Seton, he couldn’t disagree and I don’t want to sleep with either of you, you both kick." He said calmly.
As he expected, they both got hung up on the fact that he had punched Seton, ignoring everything else. free𝑤ebnovel.com
"Wait, you punched Seton? Really?" Audie perked up, a hint of disappointment in his eyes. "You should have taken me with you."
Well ’punched’ Seton was one way of looking at it but Nael wasn’t clarifying things. He was mostly relieved that it was easy to deceive them both or so he thought.
"Come on, hurry up!" Audie urged, taking the lead. "I’m sure the others are already eating breakfast without us."
Leaving Valentin to fall back beside Nael. "Will you take care of Errol?" He asked silently, staring into space.
Nael glanced at him, a little surprised that he had caught on so quickly. He could say for sure just how much Valentin knew about what had happened, and while Nael couldn’t tell him much, he certainly could give an answer to that question. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"At the risk of my life." He said without an ounce of insincerity in his voice.
Valentin laughed, it stabbed at Nael’s heart because it reminded him a lot of Errol, the Errol from before. "I don’t think he would like that but I can trust you." He said, turning his attention to Audie. "Hey! Audie! Don’t leave me behind! Wait up!"
Nael left again before breakfast was over, and no one questioned it this time. He seemed to be in a better mood than the night before, at least he spoke more, even if his eyes were distant.
As soon as they showed up, Audie and Valentin clamored around Dio, pestering him to no end while Louis and Henri had a conversation. It was mealtime as usual.
After breakfast, they all separated to go to their separate classes, making plans to meet up again at the cafeteria for the midday meal.
Henri, Louis, and Dio stopped at their lockers before heading to their classes, Henri having to walk some distance away to get to his locker.
Right as he closed his locker door, an unwelcome but familiar presence made an appearance again. "It shows an astonishing lack of etiquette for a professor to take up skulking around a student’s locker." He said blandly, not looking forward to the interaction he was about to have.
Sir Hoskins cleared his throat presumptuously, his high-necked frilled collar making his rounded head look positively ridiculous. "You’re late for class." He pronounced, looking rather pleased with himself for finally having an upper hand over the Prince.
"Wouldn’t that make you late as well?" Henri cocked a brow, turning around to leave in the wake of Hoskins’ embarrassed throat clearing.
’What an awful start to his day.’
He met up with Louis and Dio, all three making their way to the class. The classroom was a thing of beauty; high golden-gilded ceilings hung over a regally red-carpeted floor. The arched windows made for an airy and brightly lit room, the windows opening up to blooming gardens on the side.
It was indeed a sublime atmosphere for learning.
Students were already getting familiar with their seats and going around making small talk with their new classmates.
Louis stepped in first, attracting the class’ attention as they looked at who was joining the class. Their curiosity peaked when they saw who followed right after, it was none other than the Prince himself.
The duo seated close to the door whispered amongst themselves as the three new-comer found their seats. "I did hear some rumors that the Prince was going to be in our class." He said smugly.
His friend was unimpressed. "You’re only saying that because he showed up."
Henri ended up sitting directly in front of Louis, Dio seated beside the other.
Henri quietly settled in at his desk, ignoring the murmurs sweeping through the class. In the short time he had spent at the academy, it was something he had to quickly adjust to.
