Chapter 28: Chapter 28
Henri looked thoughtful, things were starting to fall into place now. "So are you discouraging me from joining the club?" He asked bluntly.
Quinn looked away. "I’m merely being honest." freēwēbnovel.com
"Have there been any applicants today?" He asked curiously.
The president fixed his soulful black eyes on him. "Quite a handful, most joined the club because of Seton’s fame so they’re no different from the members you just met. The few that joined because they wanted to pursue their interest all left, you’re the first person to still show interest after meeting them."
"I wouldn’t back out of a challenge I proposed." Henri said regally.
"Henri... I-I mean your Highness..." Tarquin stumbled over his words.
"Just Henri is fine."
"N-Not to be presumptuous but I’d ask that you reconsider racing Seton, he’s a State champion."
Henri rose to his feet, already done with the conversation. "I appreciate your concern President but my mind is made up. Are there any documents I’m required to fill?"
Quinn handed over the document reluctantly. "The opening competition will hold after lunch, at the north side of the school grounds, also called the Field."
Henri took the piece of paper and started for the door only to remember that it was locked. "Tarquin, do you mind?"
Quinn’s eyes widened, no one ever used his full name. To be exact, Seton and his crew made fun of it and called it stupid. "So-Sorry." He jumped to his feet and opened the door, watching nervously as Henri walked through the club room.
Seton and the others were sitting on the comfy chairs provided, laughing and talking but they all went silent the moment Henri stepped out. Seton especially had his eyes fixed on Henri who ignored them and went straight for the exit.
Fortunately, they didn’t try to cause more trouble, Quinn could only hope that they would not bother Henri as much because he was the Prince.
When the door shut behind Henri, Seton’s sharp eyes flicked over to Quinn who nearly jumped out of his skin in shock, hurriedly rushing back into his little office and shutting the door.
Henri studied the application document handed to him as he made his way over to the park between the year one and two dorms. it was where he and the others had agreed to meet. He wondered how their own club applications were going. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
What an awful coincidence! He hadn’t expected to bump into Errol’s roommate, much more get entangled with him but Henri knew that to join the club, it was something that had to happen.
He strode briskly to Marble park which was dubbed this because the benches and the statues there were all carved from marble, the ghostly white contrasting beautifully with the green landscape.
"Henri!" Louis waved him over the moment he caught sight of him, he was seated on a bench with Dio. "Did you get in?" He asked when Henri came over.
Henri held up the document. "More or less, how did the Cooking club go?"
"Quite wel..."
"Hey! Guess who got on the swimming team?" Audie yelled from a distance, attracting their attention.
He and Valentin hung off Nael’s arms as they proudly marched over. Nael’s hair was wetly slicked down and he had an exasperated look on his face.
"I could take a guess." Louis humored them, smiling. "Is it Vale?"
"No, but you get another try." Valentin giggled.
"Audie then?" Louis tried again.
Valentin was full-on laughing now, holding his sides like it was the funniest thing he ever heard. "Try again."
"It’s not much of a guess this time." Henri muttered darkly under his breath, getting comfortable on the bench.

The midday meal was had at the cafeteria because not a lot of students attended at a fixed time, so it was to give more of a casual air. Students were free to request whatever they preferred instead of being resigned to the meal of the time. There were dozens of chefs constantly working in the large kitchen so it was an achievable feat.
Henri brought out his club application document to fill up at the cafeteria table so that he could hand it in before going about his day. Which translated to returning to his dorm room to spend his free time before the opening competitions for the Horse riding club.
The documents just asked for basic things like his name and class and reasons for joining the club. He filled it over a cup of orange juice, Audie and Vale arguing over something on the opposite side of the table, poor Dio getting dragged into it.
The cafeteria suddenly fell a few decibels quieter, making Henri look up unwittingly.
"Are they heading our way?" Louis straightened up, a frown growing on his face at what had all attracted their attention.
It was a group of tall muscled Alphas who strode into the cafeteria like they owned the place, their eyes scanning the entire place like they were searching for someone.
"They’re seniors from the wrestling club," Audie murmured, oddly sober. "They shouldn’t have anything to do with any of us."
Nael straightened up as well, "They’re undoubtedly coming this way though."
Henri had gone back to filling his document after getting a look at what was causing a ruckus, disinterested.
"Are they looking at Henri?" Vale pointed out. The Alphas were pretty much at their table by then, there was no denying their purpose.
The tallest of the group stepped forward and slammed a big hand ride beside the application Henri was working on. "Are you Prince Henri?" He asked gruffly.
Henri looked up. "Yes, why do you ask?"
The Alpha tossed a frilly pink envelope right in front of Henri. "Then mind telling me what the fuck that is?"
The stamp on the envelope made Henri go on high alert, it was a black band with a wreath of ivy behind a silver pegasus, it was the royal coat of arms. "I’d be hard-pressed to answer that, I’m not sure myself." Henri answered calmly.
It was a love letter, a love letter signed with the royal stamp and supposedly signed by Henri had been put in the locker of the captain of the wrestling team. The entire cafeteria sat up for this, their attention riveted on the scene. What would happen next?
