Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Henri’s locker turned out to be a little distance away from the others so he had to go ahead to find it while the three monsters bickered behind him.

The lockers were placed in the foyer of the year one lecture halls and their classes were on the floor above.

Henri’s eyes scanned the numbers written on the mahogany doors of the lockers, he just needed to find 041. Why weren’t they arranged numerically? Who thought it would be fun to have the lockers randomly spread out?

There were other students around who also had similar ideas to take a look at their lockers and they rudely stared and whispered about Henri to his face. Henri was starting to get very good at ignoring them, as long as they didn’t approach him, there was nothing to worry about.

His locker was already stocked with notes, pens, and other literary devices, even the textbooks required for the subjects they would be taught. Clearly, no expense was spared by the school.

He closed his locker door, locking it properly, and turned around to return to the others only to get a bad fright from someone hovering over him. His first instinct was to go on the defensive but fortunately, the creeper stepped back because Henri would have given him a bloody liver.

"Did I frighten you?" The professor asked oddly, his dark eyes glittering.

He was dressed in black and white to show that he was a professor, although it was quite evident from how old he looked.

Henri wasn’t sure how to reply to this odd line of questioning so he remained silent, sizing up the Alpha, he wasn’t interested in a conversation with whoever this was.

The professor cleared up his throat when he realized that not only had he not managed to unsettle Henri but he was also getting no response to his earlier question. "I’m your class professor, Sir Hoskins." He announced haughtily, stroking his bushy beard.

Henri cocked a brow, unimpressed, "And you felt the need to personally inform me of this?"

Hoskins cleared his throat again. "No, I wanted to personally inform you that I do not care who you are, you will be treated like everyone else in my class and it would do you well to know that I will not be lax with you."

Henri remained calm. "I hope you keep to your words, Hoskins."

"Henri?" Audie’s voice came from a corner. "Haven’t you found your locker yet? What’s taking so long?"

Hoskins had been about to protest about Henri referring to him without a title but Audie’s interruption stopped him. He cleared his throat again, his lips pressed in a straight line as he stepped out of Henri’s way.

"You might want to get something for that, Sir Hoslins, it could be the flu." Henri tagged on, walking off to meet Audie. *yes, Henri purposefully mispronounced the professor’s name*

Hoskins puffed up in anger, that wasn’t how his first meeting with the Prince was supposed to go. He had been over the moon when he found out that he was assigned to be the class professor of the same class the Prince would be in. This was his one chance to stomp on royalty.

Who did Prince Henri think he was? Just because he was born into royalty didn’t mean that everyone had to fall over their feet for him and treat him specially.

Hoskins planned to make his chemistry classes a living nightmare for the Prince and today was supposed to be the start of his reign of terror. He was supposed to rattle the pompous Prince and put him in his place but his entire plan had been torn to shreds. It was unforgivable!

"What took you so long?" Audie asked curiously. freēwēbnovel.com

"I just had a hard time finding my locker, where are the rest?"

"Waiting outside," Audie replied, throwing an arm over Henri’s shoulders.

"I’d appreciate it if you’d stop doing that." He shot a look at Audie who remembered what Valentin went through earlier and was quick to retract his arm.

"But you’re the perfect height for it," Audie whined.

"You’re doing a terrible job of convincing me." He deadpanned.

They met up with the rest who were impatient to get to the building that housed the clubs.

"Have you all decided what clubs you want to join?" Valentin asked as they started for the club building. "Audie and I are going to try to get into the volleyball club." He announced proudly, high-fiving Audie.

"I’ll try swimming." Nael said, surprising everyone.

"Jousting." Dio muttered making everyone fall silent and look at him.

"Dio, the school doesn’t have a jousting team." Louis replied, starting to adjust to Dio being more verbal.

"Blame Audie and Vale for talking about it nonstop." Nael defended him.

"What about you, Louis?" Henri asked, very curious about his choice.

Louis pushed his hand through his hair. "I was thinking that I would try the cooking club, I really like to bake." He said with a hint of nervousness in his voice.

Audie and Valentin immediately crowded around him. "You can bake...?"

"I want cake..."

"... I’d rather pie..."

Louis visibly relaxed at this. "You can get those at the cafeteria..."

They didn’t let him finish, immediately grumbling and hanging off his hands. "But it’s not the samee..."

"Baking." Dio spoke again, to no one’s surprise.

It meant that they would all be going separate ways for club activities. They were right in front of the club building and it wasn’t just them but right about every other year one student. As well as senior students who were also present to try to recruit freshmen into their clubs, it was very crowded.
