Chapter 199: Chapter 199

Their questions were answered when a frazzled Pierre came running out of the stables, "Claude! Don’t!" He called out a warning.

He might as well have been talking to a brick wall because Claude rode straight for the competitors already lined up ready for the race, joining them after the race had already begun.

Pierre watched in horror while the others watched on in curiosity as Claude easily surpassed the rest of the competitors and caught up with Henri much to the wild excitement of the crowd.

Henri spurred his horse on when he saw Claude out of the corner of his eyes, getting more into the race now that there was someone to keep up with him. ƒreewebɳovel.com

Claude had hijacked a horse and crashed the race solely for this, he wasn’t going to stand for Henri having a terrible time when he could do something about it.

Contrary to Pierre’s fears, the crowd ate up this unexpected development, loud cheering and clapping coming from the seats when Henri dashed across the finish line with quite some distance between himself and Claude.

Valentin started off in their direction all by himself because Alexander had no intention of willingly getting close to Claude and Audie got distracted by a small group of Omega who were trying to get Alexander’s attention.

So he was the only one that saw Henri wait till Claude came across the finishing line as well so that the Alpha could help him off his horse. He could swear that he had never seen Henri smile that wide before and he didn’t blame the crowd for falling silent when Henri all but jumped on him.

The one to break the spell was a red face Pierre who had a lot to say about rule-breaking, and by the time he got there, an important-looking Omega already had the entire situation under control.

After congratulating Henri on his win, Valentin was quick to let Henri know, at his own request where Louis was. It was his job to invite the others to pay a visit to the outdoor kitchen after all, although, with Henri, he didn’t have to invite the other because he already planned to go.

After leaving the racing track, there were two more sports that he had to drop in on, the archery range for Dio and the swimming pool for Nael. Jacques had also been dragged off by the swimmer so they were sure to find him there.

The archery range was no less chaotic and although Dio with the help of Alois had been chasing Dominique down with a basket of apples, presumably to shoot them off his head, the Alpha stopped mid-chase and immediately came over to meet them.

"Where’s Lou?" He asked as soon as they were within hearing range. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"At the outdoor kitchen," Valentin answered, "When will you be competing?"

Dio looked at the energetic Alphas who were still running around, darting between targets. "I won’t," He simply said starting to walk off, only to be stopped by a perfectly aimed apple to the head.

"Oi! Where do you think you’re going?" Alois asked confrontationally.

Dio’s response was to break into a run, prompting the other two to chase after him, upsetting the power balance with Alois and Dom chasing after him this time.

Valentin blinked, looking behind him to find out that the small crowd of Omegas had been trailing after him this entire time because Audie was entertaining them. Alexander looked as indifferent as he always did.

He decided that the best thing to do was ignore them, after checking up on Nael and Jacques, he would find a way to escape them and do his sightseeing alone just like he always wanted.

Things never went as he wanted though...

Nael was pleased to hear that Errol’s race wouldn’t be happening for at least a few more hours because that meant that he would be able to see him before his race, as the swimming competition would be starting in about an hour.

Valentin told him about the outdoor kitchen anyway, although he was certain that Nael would only go where Errol was. He would also go on a brief walk around for an hour before returning in time to watch Nael compete.

"Wait, where’s Jacques?" He asked curiously when he didn’t see the other Alpha anywhere.

Nael jabbed a thumb at the large pool behind him, "In there."

True to his words, Jacques was swimming in the po... no, not swimming, he looked to be drowning.

"Jacques?" He called in a panic, hurrying forward.

Only then did he rise up to the surface, the senior that had been holding him underwater was pulled away by two others who were apologizing insistently to Jacques.

Jacques hardly paid any attention to them, he looked up at Valentin instead, "Hey, didn’t think you’d come here." He said far too casually for someone who had just been held underwater.

Valentin didn’t get the chance to respond, noticing that Jacques was only in swimming trunks, his upper body bare. High-pitched laughter came from a little distance from the little entourage still following them, Audie had said something funny which was all Jacques needed to stride over.

Valentin whipped around in time to see Jacques just walk up to the group, swoop up Audie and toss him over a shoulder before running at full speed in the direction of the swimming pool. He jumped to the side in time, Audie’s loud cursing adding to the hilarity of the entire situation.

He didn’t hold back his laughter when Audie was plunged fully clothed into the pool, walking away after seeing that Jacques was getting drowned for the second time in a row. He wasn’t going to try to help him out this time because it was kind of all his fault this time.

He waved goodbye to Nael intending to disappear in the ruckus and take that damned stroll. It helped that the Omegas were quick to swarm Alexander with Audie out of the way, they didn’t even look to care that Audie had literally been stolen from their midst.

Valentin couldn’t say he blamed them, no doubt, the only reason they entertained him was because he was friends with Alexander, nothing else. He briskly left the swimming pool area, heading away from the entire Sports Complex.

He had always wanted to take a look at the expansive and wild gardens made by the Omegas at the institute, but that would be for later after he watched Nael’s competition. For now, he would take a leisure stroll through the main parts of the Institue which was sure to be quiet.

There were people all around so he didn’t notice till he got to the first dorm building that he was being followed, he thought nothing of it still, it was no surprise that he wasn’t the only one to think of touring the Institute.

He snuck a glance behind him anyone, curious to see if he knew who his accidental companion was, and he really wished he hadn’t.

Jizele shot scornful looks at the Omegas who were practically falling over themselves to get closer to the Prince of Tharfield, couldn’t they be more respectable? Instead of shamelessly throwing themselves at him, even if he was royalty.

She flounced her long fiery red waves, they should be more like her - she was absolutely not stalking Prince Alexander, she was merely watching him from a respectable distance while waiting for the right time to approach him.

Like right now... she mentally noted with a smug smile when she caught sight of Alexander excusing himself from the bevy of girls to walk off somewhere. All she needed was for them to have some privacy, then she could pretend to bump into him to spark conversation.

She had no hopes of being lucky enough to instantly catch and hold his attention, she wasn’t that delusional. She merely hoped to build some kind of relationship with him, it would do her family well if they had a friendship with a Royal family who were in turn friends of their country.

It wouldn’t hurt if Prince Alexander took a liking to her as well, she would immediately give up on Claude if that were to happen. Speaking of Claude, she realized that she was yet to see the noble although she was certain that he had returned to the country and had also been accepted into Alpha Academy.

She would have enough time to search for him later, for now, she just needed to follow Prince Alexander till she found the right opening to approach him.

Jizele did find what she was looking for, they had gotten to the dorm buildings. Prince Alexander rounded a corner in between two dorm buildings, taking him out of her sight. They were coming from behind the buildings and there was a bit of an alleyway between both high-rise buildings, she immediately darted after him, planning to trip and pretend to fall to get his attention.

She didn’t have to pretend though because the sight she saw made her trip without having to try, she darted backward, hiding behind the building with a hand over her pounding hand and another hand over her gaping mouth.

There was no denying it! Prince Alexander had definitely been kissing the Alpha that had been walking around with him the entire time. Just as she was about to hurry away and try to process what she had just seen, a hand slammed against the wall beside her head, making her jump in fright.

"What have we got here?" Alexander asked in a sinister voice, staring her down, eyes dark.
