Chapter 159: Chapter 159

The masked duo just ignored their questions, still making their way over.

Cecil took a step back, and was about to take another when tutting sounds stopped him.

"You don’t want to be doing that, just stand quietly and we’ll have no problems." The talkative one said.

Cecil had to fight the urge to roll his eyes - ’Yeah right’ - the longer they spent here, the more terrible their chances of escaping was getting.

It would have been easy to make a dash for it but the Alpha all the way at the back welding a bow and arrow was an obstacle to that plan. He really needed to come up with an idea...

His thoughts trailed off as an arrow whizzed past him, the arrow’s trajectory had come from behind him so it could only mean one thing. He could wrack his brains trying to figure out an escape plan or he could just wait for their boyfriends to find them.

Cecil tightened his hold on Louis’ hand, already pulling the Alpha before telling him what to do. "Run!"

Louis was a little lost but he did as was told anyway, turning around to run beside Cecil and missing the attacking archer’s arms get impaled by two arrows.

Cecil wasn’t sure exactly where he was running to, but as long as it was away from the people who wanted to kill them, he would keep running.

Which was wise as the sword toting Alphas had immediately gone after them, only freezing to a halt when they heard the agonised yells of their fallen comrade.

They turned around in horror, immediately taking defensive positions with their swords. But they couldn’t tell where the arrows had come from, not to mention, they didn’t have shields so they would be done for if they were shot at.

But they couldn’t run either because that would just be presenting their vulnerable backs for a sharp shiny arrow. This impasse was broken by another pair of arrows sailing with perfect accuracy to jab them on their upper legs. They immediately went down, clutching their injures legs with groans of pain.

Louis and Cecil had put a lot of distance between them at this point so they slowed to a stop, turning around to find all their attackers writhing on the ground.

"You don’t think they’re dead, do you?" Louis murmured, sounding a little green.

"I hope they are, the bastards wanted to kill us." Cecil gritted out, glaring at the downed Alphas.

Louis blinked, "Wait, what-" His words were cut off by figures jumping down from the trees above and in the next moment he was pulled into sturdy arms.

"Are you alright?" Dio breathed into his hair.

"I’m fine." He replied, his voice muffled from how tightly he was held.

Just beside them, Cecil was pushing Alois away, his face a bright red. "Shouldn’t you be asking me if I’m fine? Why are you putting your hand down my shirt?"

They eventually calmed down and then looked over to the still groaning Alphas, none of them had dared to take out their arrows, gingerly cradling their injuries.

"Who are those people?" Dio was the one to ask, still holding Louis close although his boyfriend was starting to have a hard time breathing.

"No idea." Cecil said, his expression grave. "They just showed up out of nowhere and they’re dangerous."

Alois’ brows were furrowed, "They have to be students, it’s practically impossible for outsiders to infiltrate the academy." He muttered, his brain working overtime to figure out what in the fresh hell was going on. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"I feel like you three are too calm about this," Louis said, finally breaking free from Dio’s iron hold.

"They’re all immobile." Dio said blankly, "Or should I-"

"No, no more arrows." Louis stopped him quickly, "What should we do?" He turned to Alois. His expertise in leadership didn’t cover taking charge of things when they were under attack.

Alois strode forward, kicked their swords to the side and then ripped their masks off, making sure to keep a safe distance afterward. "Any of you recognize them?"

Louis gingerly stepped forward, never leaving Dio’s side. "Hold on, he’s in our class, right Dio?" He turned to the other, pointing at the archer who was the quiet one out of the trio.

Although he had the most injuries, he just leaned quietly against a tree trunk, his face pale and sweaty.

"Yeah, I’ve never seen him before." Dio deadpanned.

Louis just waved him away and stepped closer, "You’re Francis, aren’t you?" He asked, as the class representative, he knew all of his classmates by name.

The injured Alpha just glared at him, saying nothing.

"I guessed we’ll be able to get nothing out of them, we also can’t return to the campsite." Alois spoke up, catching the others attentions.

"What? Why? Henri is there, we have to get him." Louis said resolutely.

"That’s exactly why we can’t go back," He said calmly, unstrapping his bow from his back, fixing an arrow to it and aiming at the archer’s thigh.

"This is going to sting a bit, Francis." He said without the slightest hint of remorse, already shooting the Alpha in the leg while he was still talking.

The Alpha cursed through gritted teeth, his head lolling against the trunk of the tree he was leaning against shortly after.

Louis let out a sound of dismay, "Oh my god, he’s dead."

"That would be great." Cecil muttered under his breath.

"He’s not," Alois said with amusement, snagging his boyfriend’s wrist again. "Here’s what I think we should do... I’m fairly sure that these guys are here for Henri, Claude’s with him though so he’ll be fine but we have to report this in..."

"I could just light up the firecracker," Louis quickly said, eager to help. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

"You have it on you?" Cecil asked in surprise.

Louis just pulled it out, after the first unfortunate incident, he had taken to carrying the cracker around just incase they needed it. He didn’t really expect to use it.

"No, don’t," Alois quickly stopped him. "That would just give our position away. Not to mention, the professors wouldn’t know what’s wrong and might get ambushed."

"Are you sure Henri will be fine with Claude?" Louis asked in horror, the situation just kept escalating.

"That’s the one thing I’m absolutely sure about but first..." He trailed off, letting go of Cecil’s hand to kick the still groaning Alphas on the ground. The hits to their head were vicious and it was evident in the way they both passed out on impact.

"Now, let’s go before more of them show up." He tagged on, already moving.
