Chapter 158: Chapter 158
This caught the others’ attention, Valentin helping Audie to sit up as he recovered his voice.
The Alpha on the ground looked up at Claude with determination in his eyes, although his current situation wasn’t so good, he was unshaken. "None of your fucking busine-" He choked on the tail ends of his words because Claude stomped viciously on him.
"Want to try again?" He offered generously.
Audie rose to his feet with Valentin’s help, "They were here to kill Henri, and from what I heard there’s still more of them." He finally managed to say, looking a little pale.
The Alpha on the ground only glared viciously up at them, looking to have no plans of saying anything.
Claude whipped around to shoot a piercing look at Alexander at Audie’s words, his foot still on the Alpha on the ground.
Alexander scoffed, unimpressed by this. "You think I did this?"
"I’d be stupid not to suspect you." He snarled, pale eyes narrowed.
"I didn’t." Alexander said sharply, "As I’ve told you a hundred times over, I don’t want to hurt Henri."
Claude took his foot off and kicked the Alpha to his side, "You make that very hard to believe." He countered, intending to get a rope to bind up all the intruders.
Valentin didn’t pay attention to their arguing, settling Audie down on a log so that he could get him water to drink while Jacques stayed on the lookout, he was still very tense.
The food box was over on the other side, so Valentin had to walk a bit of a distance to get to it. Just as he was bent over to pick up the bottle, he was tackled to the ground, a quivering arrow embedded in the ground, right where his head would have been at.
After that, the campsite was plunged into chaos, everyone had to make a quick getaway or risk getting impaled by a stray arrow. Without hesitation, Alexander caught Valentin’s wrist and pulled him into the cover of the trees next to them, remaining in the campsite would just make them sitting targets for their attackers.
Jacques also moved quickly, grabbing a sword and taking Audie with him as he dived into the cover of the trees. Audie was so stunned by the flurry of events that he didn’t even protest, his legs reflexively moving when Jacques pulled him.
Claude was left behind, he nearly ripped open the flap of Henri’s tent in a bid to get to him, practically carrying him out of his sleeping bag.
Henri dazedly blinked open his eyes, he wasn’t the type to sleep so heavily that he would miss so much but he felt a little woozy and he wasn’t at his best at the moment. "Claude?" He called in confusion, reflexively holding onto his shoulders for support when he was placed on his feet.
"I apologize for interrupting your sleep, Your Highness but we’re under attack," Claude said formally.
This cleared the sleep out of Henri’s eyes quickly, "What?"
"There’s no time to explain now, we need to move." Claude made sure to let him know what he was about to do before taking action.
He didn’t go through the entrance of the tent, instead, he cut a hole through the back of the tent with a dagger that he seemed to pull out of thin air, dashing for the cover of the woods. This was a smart move as the main area of the campsite was already swarmed over by more armed students.
Henri was still having a difficult time adjusting to what was happening, he had just been woken up from a deep fitful sleep and was now been made to run for his life. He was pulled up against Claude the moment they broke into the cover of the woods, the Alpha hiding behind a tree.
Henri looked up at Claude with consternation on his face, too shocked to register how close they currently were. "Did an arrow just fly past my head?" He asked in disbelief, "Tell me that it’s because Audie is messing around with Dio’s bow."
Claude’s lips lifted slightly in a smile, "I wish I could but we have to keep moving."

Louis and Cecil had gone for berries first, neither of them too eager to climb up a tree for fruits. Their plans were cut short when they were jumped by masked Alphas wielding swords, it was shocking enough to elicit a scream out of anyone.
Without hesitating, Louis threw his basket of grapes at the nearest Alpha, snagged up Cecil’s wrist, and made a run for it. He was no good at fighting and he knew Cecil long enough to know that the other didn’t even know how to hold a sword so their best chance was to run... or so they thought. freewebnoveℓ.com
They barely got a few feet away when an arrow whizzing past them rooted them to the ground. They slowly turned around, strained smiles on their face as they prepared to do what they knew best and that was to talk their way out of their current predicament.
"I think you have the wrong people," Louis started to say, "Why don’t we talk this over nicely?"
The duo that had shown up in front of them slowly came over, one of them swinging his sword casually. "I’m certain we have the right people." He said, his mask covering the lower part of his face. "You don’t have to worry, we’re just here to detain you for a moment, and then..." He trailed off, a malicious light in his eyes.
Cecil could immediately tell that they were in deep shit, he had grown up spending his life around these kinds of lowlifes. "Then what?" He asked, his voice tense.
Louis however didn’t pick up on the undertone of the Alpha’s words, he visibly relaxed. "Why are you detaining us though? Who are you guys?"
A third Alpha appeared from behind a tree, this one was holding a bow and he looked to be the one who had shot at them earlier. He remained a little distance away from the others though, his face hooded just like the others.
