Chapter 213: Chapter 138: Keeping You All Together
RUMBLE!!
Dark clouds loomed over Ring City, and silver serpents of lightning danced across the sky.
A steady drizzle began to fall, forming a curtain of water that seemed to connect the heavens and the earth.
"On alert!"
"Assassin!"
In an instant, they spotted a figure in black standing by the collapsed perimeter wall, and cries of shock and anger erupted from within the villa estate.
The next moment.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!!
A rapid series of gunshots shattered the air.
Muzzle flashes erupted throughout the estate, coming from the patrol teams at the main gate and on the lawn, as well as from other security lookouts stationed on the villa’s various floors.
Dozens, even hundreds, of bullets sliced through the air. A direct hit would have been enough to turn an ordinary Elite Level expert into Swiss cheese.
Inside the villa, Mei Ning, Guo Yun, and the others stared intently at the scene, already picturing an explosion of blood and gore.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!!
However, a series of sharp metallic pings shattered their expectations.
Mei Ning and the others’ pupils contracted. The faces of the patrolling security guards in the estate also paled in shock.
It sounded as if the bullets were striking steel, the crisp reports echoing continuously.
They could see with their own eyes that the bullets were being deflected by the backs of the intruder’s hands, sending sparks flying. It looked like he was wearing some kind of black Fighting Weapons.
Upon impact, every bullet dented and deformed before falling harmlessly to the ground.
Then, before the security guards could even react, the man vanished, reappearing dozens of meters away by the main courtyard’s fountain as if he had teleported.
"Stop him!"
Someone bellowed. It was the security chief’s furious voice.
The nearest security guards gritted their teeth and charged forward, raising their submachine guns to try and gun him down.
But...
THUD!!
Before they could fire, the three guards blocking his path were sent flying backward.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
BAM! BAM! BAM!!
A series of sickening thuds followed as the three figures either shattered the fountain’s stone pillars or slammed into the luxury cars parked on the lawn.
Witnessing this, Guo Yun and the others inside the villa shuddered, an inexplicable fear creeping into their hearts.
Ruan Hui, standing protected in the center of the group, watched with ice-cold eyes, his face a mask of killing intent.
"You dare try to kill me?"
He sneered, as if he couldn’t believe someone so audacious existed in the entire Rhombus Ring City Circle.
Without a trace of fear, he stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing out at the rain-swept courtyard and the unfolding massacre.
’Unless a Superpower Level expert shows up in person, no one can possibly break in here.’
TAP! TAP! TAP! TAP!
In that instant, without waiting for his command, the peak Elite Level security chief behind him charged out, leading a group of combat-trained attendants.
Even the two mantis-like biological weapons seemed to receive an order, silently melting into the corners of the villa.
"Execute the contingency plan! Team One, provide suppressive fire! Team Two, engage in close-quarters combat!"
"Team Three, remain in the villa and protect the Young Master!"
The security chief’s calm, methodical voice crackled through everyone’s earpieces, and the orders could be heard inside the villa as well.
Instantly, Guo Yun and the others felt a sense of relief, and the tension in Mei Ning’s group eased slightly.
They didn’t know who the intruder was, but their fear and worry had vanished, replaced by mocking smirks as they looked out at the rain-swept scene.
RAT-A-TAT-TAT-TAT!
The roar of submachine guns tore through the air. They were Lianwei Heavy Industry’s Viper model, powerful enough to shatter the scales of an Advanced Mutant Beast.
Streams of muzzle flashes unleashed hundreds of bullets, all pouring toward the target.
But the figure flickered and vanished once more.
"Ah!"
THWACK!
A scream tore out from the side of the lawn as a security guard in a black combat uniform was sent flying by a kick, slamming into a wall. He gagged, spitting up a mouthful of blood and chunks of his internal organs.
Before his companion, who was still holding a submachine gun, could even react, his neck was snapped. His head twisted a full one hundred and eighty degrees as his body staggered and collapsed.
In a matter of seconds, the man in black moved as if through an empty battlefield.
He was like a powerful, highly-trained assassin, darting swiftly through the rain.
With a punch here or a kick there, he dispatched the estate’s guards one by one. The pools of blood on the ground grew larger, slowly seeping into the soil of the manicured lawn.
The muzzle flashes grew sporadic, like flames flickering in the rain, on the verge of being extinguished completely.
Even several professional-grade security team leaders were sent flying. They shattered the villa’s floor-to-ceiling windows and crashed into the rooms within, or broke wooden posts around the estate, exploding in a mist of blood and splinters.
"This..."
Sensing that something was terribly wrong, the color drained from the faces of Mei Ning and her companions.
’Is he really just an ordinary Elite Level?’
THOOM!
Before they could process it, the peak Elite Level security chief finally caught up to the intruder.
The black Biotechnology Company combat uniform stretched taut over his bulging muscles, and his nearly one-point-nine-meter frame was incredibly intimidating.
"Die!!"
He roared, smashing his fist toward the man in black.
He seemed to be using some kind of Martial Skill; visible waves of white energy wrapped around his massive right arm, stirring up a gale as it shot toward the intruder.
BOOM!!
The ground beneath him buckled as if struck by a hurricane.
The paving stones at his feet shattered, the cracks spreading out for a meter. The force of the blow momentarily blasted away the rain, creating a two-meter-wide pocket that seemed to be his own absolute domain.
"It’s the Blazing Wind Fist!"
Mei Ning and the others looked on in shock. Guo Yun clenched his fist, recognizing the Martial Skill.
A Mid-Level Martial Skill: Blazing Wind Fist.
When used by a peak Elite Level expert, it could unleash a terrifying blow nearly on par with a Superpower Level fighter.
"It’s over," Ruan Hui sneered. A glass of juice had appeared in his hand at some point, and he took a light sip.
But.
THWACK!!
An even faster fist slammed into the security chief’s chest.
