Chapter 1985: Chapter 479: Unforgivable by Heaven, Vicious Curse (Part 3)

In the open-air parking lot, the afterglow of the setting sun cast a pale golden light. Noisy voices drifted over from not far away. Her chin was forcibly lifted by a big rough hand, his fingers clamping her jaw so hard it hurt.

The man’s dark, deep gaze locked tightly onto her face, like a huge net thrown over her head, leaving her nowhere to hide.

"You... what are you doing?" She suddenly felt a little nervous, her hands subconsciously rubbing against the car door behind her.

The man let out a low chuckle, lowered his head to her ear, his hot breath spraying over the shell of it, making her heart itch.

"I want you." Just two simple words, yet loaded with endless teasing and ambiguity.

Her heart gave a sudden shudder.

Then she lowered her lashes, brushed his hand away, and said flatly, "I’m not that kind of casual woman."

In the past, Ruan Songxi had been dogged by scandals, his gossip with young models and starlets could fill a book. Even his last public girlfriend Zhu Weier had been with him for about two years, right? Although in the end Zhu Weier put a bright green hat on Ruan Songxi—cheating on him with his own dad—no man could swallow that.

She didn’t mind how many women he’d had before, as long as after he married her he didn’t mess around outside, she’d already be content. But when he treated her with the same methods and attitude he used on those women, there was still a sour sting in the bottom of her heart.

Even if she loved this man, there were some lines that could not be crossed.

Ruan Songxi raised an eyebrow, his fingers gently stroking her cheek. The touch of the woman’s fair, delicate skin felt good beneath his fingertips, and a dark glint slowly surfaced in his eyes. "Isn’t this what you want?"

The corner of his mouth hooked up playfully—that was the face he usually showed the world: debauched, lazy, a playboy.

A flush of ashamed anger suddenly surged up inside her. She might love him humbly, but she still had her dignity; there was no way she’d allow herself to be trampled like this.

She flung his hand away. Her gentle, dignified features turned stern in an instant, her brows cold and sharp, making people not dare to meet her eyes.

"Ruan Songxi, don’t be full of yourself. You don’t know what I want—you’ll never know."

With that, she gave him a hard shove. "I’ll pretend I didn’t hear what you just said. If you can’t truly open your heart to me, I won’t force it. I, Liang Wenwan, am not that cheap. I’ll go back by myself, no need for you to see me off."

She said it, then left with her head held high, heels clicking. The moment she turned her back, tears spilled from her eyes of their own accord, but she bit down hard on her lower lip, her spine ramrod straight, her steps not faltering in the slightest.

Ruan Songxi, consider it my mistake for misjudging you.

Her body suddenly lurched sideways. She hastily grabbed the car next to her to steady herself. A sharp pain shot from her ankle, and her tears flowed even harder.

She’d twisted her ankle.

She could feel the man’s gaze following her the whole time, so she absolutely could not give in. She grit her teeth, but the moment she put her foot down, the pain made cold sweat break out all over her, her back arching involuntarily.

The next second, her body suddenly left the ground. She cried out in surprise and turned her head, only to see the man’s resolute, striking face. "Put me down."

She struggled in his arms.

His big hands tightened around her, giving her no chance to struggle at all, and he carried her straight toward the outpatient building.

"Ruan Songxi, what the hell are you doing?"

The woman bit her lip hard, her stunning little face slightly pale. Her brows knit together in stubborn pain, fine beads of cold sweat breaking out on her forehead. Right now, her eyes—washed clean by tears—were staring at him in fury. Did she have any idea just how seductive she looked at this moment...

The man’s lips quirked. "If you want to end up disabled, then treat it as me meddling." With that, he set Liang Wenwan down on the ground.

Pain stabbed her ankle, and Liang Wenwan instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck. A low chuckle rumbled by her ear, making her cheeks flush faintly. She shot him a vicious glare, that look half anger, half coquettish, enough to steal a soul. The man’s gaze suddenly darkened, his thin lips pressed tight as he turned his eyes away.

"I’ll tell Auntie Zhuang you bullied me." Liang Wenwan snorted lightly.

The man’s lips twitched. "If you’ve got the guts, go ahead."

"You..." Liang Wenwan was choked with anger. She really didn’t dare go. Badmouthing her son in front of her future mother-in-law was a big taboo in the mother-in-law–daughter-in-law handbook. She’d only said it on purpose to needle him, but he’d actually used that line to goad her.

How could she have been brainless enough to think this man was a good person? He was clearly a wolf in human skin—no, a horny wolf at that...

Thankfully, it was only a slight fracture, no need for a cast. The doctor prescribed some topical medicine and told her to rest. The man carried her out of the hospital, personally settled her into the front passenger seat, and bent down to carefully fasten her seat belt.
