Chapter 1984: Chapter 479: Heaven Will Not Tolerate a Vicious Curse (Part 2)
Ruan Songxi nodded silently.
As Zhuang Xiyue turned around, she seemed to suddenly remember something: "By the way, when are you and Ah Wan planning to get married? Your sister is still waiting to hold a grandchild. I think Ah Wan is a great girl, you should stop dragging it out and give her an answer."
Ruan Songxi looked at the young woman talking with his mother on the hospital bed, a gentle light flickering in his eyes, and nodded: "I will."
Zhuang Xiyue finally smiled: "At last, some good news to get rid of the bad luck. I’ll go check the almanac and set the date as soon as possible."
She said joyfully as she returned to the ward.
Ruan Songxi stayed in the ward for a while, took a call, and then had to leave.
Now, he’s just taken over the Ruan Group, and a bunch of internal matters await his attention, besides setting aside time every day to be with his mother, and this is already the limit.
"You’re busy with company matters, don’t bother staying with me. Hurry on, don’t delay your important work," Zhuang Fanxing said.
"I’ll come visit you when I have time."
Zhuang Xiyue glanced at Liang Wenwan and smiled: "Ah Wan, why don’t you catch a ride with Song Xi?"
Liang Wenwan lifted her gaze to look at Ruan Songxi.
Ruan Songxi took the bag from Liang Wenwan’s hand, turned first, and left: "Let’s go."
Liang Wenwan stood up excitedly and respectfully said to Zhuang Xiyue and Zhuang Fanxing: "Aunt Zhuang, Little Aunt, I’m leaving now. I’ll come back tomorrow."
Zhuang Xiyue waved her hand with a smile: "Quickly, go on then."
Liang Wenwan turned and left quickly.
Zhuang Xiyue teased Zhuang Fanxing with a wink: "You’re not far from holding a grandchild."
Zhuang Fanxing smiled and shook his head.
Liang Wenwan hurried out to see the man standing quietly at the door of the ward, his tall figure made her heart race.
Was he waiting just for her?
She walked quickly over, lowering her head: "If you’re busy, I can take the bus myself."
The man glanced at her, "No rush, let me take you home first."
With those words, he strode off.
Liang Wenwan stared at the man’s back, smiling foolishly to herself—how wonderful, because he’s taking her home. It proves she matters to him.
The man suddenly turned around, frowning at her standing there giggling, "What are you doing standing there? Hurry up and catch up!"
Liang Wenwan snapped back to reality, jogging to keep pace with him, letting out a light sigh, realizing her goofy expression was noticed by him earlier, oh, she wanted to dig a hole and hide.
The man glanced sideways at the dejected girl beside him, a smile faintly flickering in his eyes.
Upon reaching the ground floor lobby, a nurse suddenly wheeled in a stretcher urgently, a severely ill patient lying on it, accompanied by her shouting: "Make way, clear the path."
Liang Wenwan, lost in her own thoughts, mindlessly followed the man, oblivious to the approaching danger ahead.
She realized the imminent collision with the stretcher just in time, her eyes wide with fright.
At that moment, a firm hand yanked her arm, and the next instant, her cheek collided against the man’s solid chest, his masculine scent enveloping her completely. She was a bit taken aback, lifting her gaze to see the man’s stubbled chin, not appearing unkempt but adding to his mature allure.
With deep, dark eyes, the man lowered his gaze to sweep over her. She suddenly startled, pushed him away, and stepped back quickly.
"Thank you for saving me just now."
The man straightened up, suddenly leaned towards her, and Liang Wenwan noticed his increasingly enlarged handsome face in front of her. Her hands instinctively tugged at her clothes as she slowly closed her eyes.
A soft chuckle resonated beside her ear, prompting Liang Wenwan to snap her eyes open, seeing the man brushing a stray lock of hair from her temple behind her ear. With a playful smile, he teased, "What did you think I was going to do?"
Liang Wenwan’s cheeks flushed like a ripe apple, wishing she could find a hole and crawl into it.
She was utterly embarrassed.
"Liang Wenwan, let’s get married."
The man’s deep voice suddenly echoed in her ear like thunder, shocking her into looking up. The man had already turned and walked away, hands tucked into his pockets.
She placed her hand over her heart, ignoring the abnormal thumping, grinning wide enough to reach the back of her ears.
She jogged to catch up: "Was that just a proposal?"
The man walked into the parking lot, approached a black Land Rover, pressed the car key, lights flickering once, with a "beep."
Liang Wenwan, following behind, was not expecting him to stop abruptly, causing her to bump into his back, leaving her slightly dizzy.
Ruan Songxi glanced sideways at her, his eyes deep and intense, inexplicably making her heart suddenly leap. She instinctively backed away a step, yet in the next instant, the man clasped her waist with a single hand, pulled her close, pressing her against the car door, her back hitting the cold hard surface, prompting a stifled groan of discomfort.
