Chapter 481: Chapter 474: Mom, You Can’t Just Look at the Surface

Sienna Hale found his question rather strange. "What message would I send her? I don’t even have her phone number."

Seeing that her expression didn’t seem fake, Seth Quinn let out a small sigh of relief. ’As long as it wasn’t her, that’s all that mattered.’

Sienna Hale then asked, confused, "What’s wrong? Why are you asking me this?"

Instead of answering, Seth Quinn countered with a question. "Has anyone visited our house recently? Chloe Grant? Or Autumn Shelby? Did you leak something to them?"

Hearing him ask this, Sienna Hale was suddenly overcome with guilt. Her eyes darted around, and her voice dropped a little. "N-no, neither of them has been to our house..."

She didn’t dare admit that she had secretly let Autumn Shelby come to the house yesterday. Theodore Quinn had strictly forbidden her from associating with Autumn Shelby, let alone allowing her to set foot in the Quinn Family home again.

Sienna Hale knew that if she admitted it and Theodore found out, he would fly into a rage.

Just as a mother knows her son best, so too does a son know his mother. One look at her expression and Seth Quinn knew she was lying.

He called out, "Mrs. Cheney," then gestured with his eyes toward Clara Grant’s phone on the nightstand. "Could you please hand me the phone?"

Mrs. Cheney quickly retrieved the phone and placed it in his hand. Seth Quinn opened the messages, pulled up the one with the photo, and turned the screen for her to see.

"If that’s really the case, then I can’t for the life of me figure out who could have sent this photo to Clara."

Sienna Hale leaned in for a look, and her expression immediately changed. "Someone sent this to her?"

Besides the members of the Quinn Family, the only other person who had seen this photo was Autumn Shelby. ’Could she really have done it?’

’No, Autumn is always so sensible, obedient, and well-behaved around me. It couldn’t have been her.’

’Besides, I specifically warned her not to reveal that Cherie is Seth’s nephew, especially not to let Clara Grant find out.’

’She promised me so sincerely back then. How could she turn around and betray my trust by sending the photo to Clara Grant?’

"Yes. But the person used a temporary SIM card—a burner—so we can’t trace who it was." As he spoke, Seth Quinn opened another message and showed it to her.

"Not only that, but they also told Clara that Cherie was sick. To be so calculating, sending both text and pictures... what could the motive be? The most likely goal is to drive a wedge between me and Clara, to try and break us up, right?"

Sienna Hale stared at the lines of text, her eyes wide with surprise. ’But I never told Autumn Shelby about this. I almost let it slip, but I covered it up in the end.’

’If Autumn Shelby really did send this message, how did she find out? Did she... hire someone to investigate?’

’How is that possible? Autumn told me to my face that she would bless Seth for finding his happiness. She even said she no longer hoped to be with him.’

’So why would she be doing these things in secret now?’

’No, it couldn’t have been Autumn. It definitely wasn’t her.’

Seth Quinn noted his mother’s reaction but said nonchalantly, "Actually, I should probably thank whoever told Clara. Because of this, I finally found the courage to tell her the truth. And not only have we not broken up, but our relationship is even better now."

"I just want to tell you, Mom, that you can’t judge people by their appearance. Some people aren’t as simple as they seem on the surface."

Sienna Hale looked up and handed the phone back to him. She parted her lips, about to say something, when a familiar voice came from the doorway of the hospital room.
