Chapter 469: Chapter 462: I Don’t Believe Autumn Has a Motive Every Day
"It’s Clara Grant again!" Sienna Hale’s voice was seething with hatred. "Autumn, which hospital is Seth in right now?"
When Theodore Quinn heard she was on the phone with Autumn Shelby, his brow furrowed even deeper, and his expression darkened.
"Mrs. Quinn, Seth is at XX Hospital right now," Autumn Shelby said, sighing with profound worry. "Mrs. Quinn, XX Hospital is just a small facility. The medical equipment is poor, the doctors aren’t very skilled... it can’t compare to the major hospitals in the city in any way.
But why would Seth choose to get treatment there? I have no idea how he’s doing... It’s making me sick with worry."
"Hmph, what other reason could there be? It’s definitely because of Clara Grant. She’s probably afraid to bring him into the city because she doesn’t want us to find out he got hurt because of her." Sienna Hale waved her hand dismissively. "This won’t do. I’m going to XX Hospital right now to see Seth."
On the other end of the line, Autumn Shelby immediately said, "Mrs. Quinn, I’ll go too! I’ll wait for you at the hospital entrance."
At that moment, Sienna Hale completely ignored that Theodore Quinn had forbidden her from contacting Autumn Shelby. She nodded and agreed, "Okay, okay."
After hanging up, Sienna Hale turned to see Theodore Quinn glaring at her, his expression grim. When she met his gaze, he demanded in a harsh tone, "Didn’t I tell you not to contact Autumn Shelby? Why don’t you ever listen?"
Sienna Hale’s temper flared. "Theodore Quinn, Autumn called to tell us Seth is injured! Instead of being grateful she notified us, instead of asking about our son’s condition, you’re standing here blaming me for talking to her? Don’t you care about your own son at all?!"
"It’s not that I don’t care about Seth, I just question Autumn Shelby’s motive for calling." Theodore Quinn highly doubted she had called merely to inform them of Seth’s injury. ’Otherwise, why would she make a point of emphasizing that Seth got hurt because of Clara?’
"Motive, motive! All you ever do is suspect people’s motives. I refuse to believe Autumn is plotting something all the time!" Sienna Hale snapped, pulling her arm away from his grasp. "What’s the point of talking about this now? The most important thing is to go see how Seth is doing, isn’t it? Are you going to see your son or not? If you’re not going, I’ll go by myself!"
Theodore Quinn knew her mind was solely focused on their son’s condition, so he didn’t argue further. Besides, the only way to find out what was really going on was to go there themselves.
He nodded, agreeing to go, and turned to instruct the housekeeper, "Mrs. Cheney, have the driver bring the car around."
...
The hospital room door was suddenly thrown open. The three people inside—Clara Grant, Miles Quinn, and Seth Quinn, who was lying face down on the bed—all froze when they saw Sienna Hale, Theodore Quinn, and Autumn Shelby walk in.
When she came to her senses, Clara Grant mumbled, "Mr. Quinn... Mrs. Quinn," then lowered her head. ’I can’t believe this,’ she thought with an inward sigh. ’We were going to tell them once Seth was mostly recovered, but not even a full day has passed and they already found out.’
Once Miles Quinn recovered, he called out, "Dad, Mom," and then shot a look at Autumn Shelby.
From the bed, Seth Quinn first turned to glance at Clara Grant, who stood with her head bowed, looking tense and withdrawn. Only then did he look toward Theodore Quinn and Sienna Hale, his brow furrowed as he spoke. "Mom, Dad, what are you doing here?"
Before he could finish, Sienna Hale had already rushed to the bedside. Seeing him lying face down on the bed, her heart ached and tears instantly streamed down her face. She reached out, wanting to lift his shirt to see the injury, but her hands trembled, and she didn’t dare, afraid she might accidentally touch the wound.
"Seth, how are you? You... where exactly are you hurt?"
