Chapter 2675: Chapter 1807: Secret Infiltration (The Weather Is Starting to Get Hot)
For Alicia and others, this is their first mission after joining the Tribunal. Before this, they had witnessed many Tribunal actions and participated in some. To Alicia, the work of the Tribunal doesn’t seem too different from the Fire Moth, just that one fights against Collapse and the other against the threat of Humans.
However, the Tribunal has an advantage over the Fire Moth in that it doesn’t have those red tapes and bureaucracy. This might also relate to the focus of the Tribunal’s work. It doesn’t need to maintain a massive bureaucratic system like the Fire Moth and is more flexible.
Alicia also quite enjoys the atmosphere here, at least when making interstellar calls home and hearing Mebius and others complain about the difficulty of post-disaster reconstruction, she feels this way. At least she’s not the one dealing with those bureaucrats, hmm, she can only apologize to Mebius for that.
Alicia also considered whether she and the others would receive orders from the Tribunal to take action, having chatted with many girls and believing they grasp some understanding of the Tribunal’s operational principles.
But this mission left Alicia feeling a bit... unsure of what to say.
Especially when she gazed through the screen at the green-skinned monsters fighting each other on the ground, it seemed even stranger to her.
"Your mission is to find the Beastman Crown."
Duanmu Huai pointed at the map in front of them.
"I can only ascertain that the crown should be in this location, but I think you’ve also seen, there’s absolutely no... order here."
As Duanmu Huai said, this Orc building before them would hardly be considered a building. It looked more like a heap of garbage randomly stacked with various materials.
"Even Dusk Street doesn’t have buildings this dirty and chaotic..."
Pado Filis muttered complaints beside him; as this plan’s "central figure," she of course understands that finding something that resembles trash amidst a pile of garbage is akin to searching for a needle in a haystack. Even though Pado Filis had done similar tasks in the Fire Moth, at least back then she knew what to take and where to find it.
And not like now, where you’re just drawing a circle on the map and being told to go find it.
What’s the difference between this and a teacher tossing you the textbook before an exam and saying the exam scope lies within it?
To Pado Filis’ complaints, Duanmu Huai shrugged his shoulders, pretending not to hear. After all, he merely learned from a guild player’s narrative that the Beastman Crown was within this Orc Kingdom on this planet. Specifically how to find it, they didn’t make a strategy guide, no need to detail to coordinate points.
Actually, if possible, Duanmu Huai would prefer to launch a Neutron Annihilation round and then slowly sift through the bodies.
Unfortunately, this is the land of Orcs. The appearance of superstructural weapons would surely make these green-skinned creatures that only have muscles in their brains go crazy. The Tribunal Fleet of Duanmu is capable of defeating these green-skinned creatures, but the problem is his current objective isn’t to eradicate them. It’s to find something that resembles a paper product worn during birthdays.
Duanmu Huai absolutely doesn’t want to search within a universe void filled with warship debris, so he sent Pado Filis to try her luck.
After all, she kept saying she was very lucky.
"But I’m not a devil; I’ll help this time."
Hearing Duanmu Huai’s words, Pado Filis sighed with relief.
"Really?"
"Of course, I’ll be responsible for drawing away most of the Orcs’ attention. You need to find that thing; it might be on an Orc’s head, or thrown somewhere... Anyway, let’s see if your luck is better or mine."
With that, Duanmu Huai waved his hand.
"You have ten minutes to prepare, then I’ll move first, and then it’s your show."
"Yes."
For the green-skinned creatures, this is another mundane and dull day—either fighting against each other, flinging muck at each other, or wrestling with each other. Anyway, for the greenskins, fighting is always good. Unfortunately, there’s no target here worthy enough for them to fight with all their might, which somewhat displeases the greenskins.
Luckily, their wish soon became reality—a tall black figure descended from the sky, crashing heavily among them, crushing several goblins and shaking off a bunch of greenskins. The latter, once they came to their senses, shook their heads before opening their eyes.
Then they saw a Steel Giant hoisting a War Hammer, standing in the square, beckoning to them with a finger.
"Hey, Green Skin, come on, let’s have some fun!"
Upon hearing the Steel Giant speak, all the Green Skins present suddenly became as excited as if they had been injected with something.
They just love to play!
"WAAAAAAGH!!"
Hearing the flood-like screams coming from all directions, Duanmu Huai also felt extremely jubilant. He loved this; fighting the Green Skins didn’t need any of those pretentious tactics or strategies. No plans, no strategy, nothing like that at all. Just charge and fight. If you can win, you’re awesome; if you can’t, you’re an idiot. It’s that simple!
"Come! Let’s have a good fight!"
Duanmu Huai roared, gripping the War Hammer, and advanced towards the Green Skins in front of him.
This scene was so magnificent.
Hiding in the woods, Pado Filis couldn’t help but hold her breath as she witnessed this scene. She could see that the lazy and seemingly thoughtless Green Skin Giants suddenly coordinated almost in unison and changed direction. Their excited shouts stirred the air, almost shaking Pado Filis off the tree.
Then she saw these Green Skins raise their weapons and charge forward—or rather, they just grabbed whatever they could and rushed ahead. Pado Filis even saw one Green Skin Giant grab a little goblin nearby and swing it towards the battlefield.
She had only seen such a scene in comic books before; this was the first time seeing someone do it in reality!
So terrifying.
Pado Filis shivered. She knew what was happening up front since Duanmu Huai had said he would help draw away most of the enemies, but in fact, there was no one left here. Both the Green Skins and the goblins turned into an incomprehensible torrent, rampaging forward.
If I got caught up in that, there wouldn’t even be a tail left of me.
"Sister Ellie, Sister Eden, please protect me well."
At this moment, Pado Filis was almost crying, but she still mouthed a quiet prayer before silently slipping down from the tree trunk, quickly dashing towards a nearby large garbage heap.
Truth be told, Pado Filis didn’t like this garbage heap at all. Although she liked collecting interesting things she was fond of, she felt from the first glance that there was nothing in this heap worth collecting.
They looked like a haphazard assembly of various junk, and Pado Filis couldn’t even figure out the use of many items. The fighting in front continued, with shouts and "WAAAAAGH" echoing continuously, shaking the entire garbage heap.
Pado Filis crept along, like a little cat, restraining her presence and slipping quietly through the corridor. Based on her experience, any such place should have a room dedicated to storing treasures. Maybe she might find such a room and see if the Beastman Crown is stored inside.
The corridor was entirely empty, not even a single soldier guarding it. Pado Filis felt it was strange and thought this wasn’t how she imagined infiltration would be like. She had expected some guards to remain even if most enemies were lured away, but the monsters here seemed to have no such idea whatsoever...
Moreover, a disgusting stench permeated the entire building. In Pado Filis’s view, Dusk Street was already a civilized sewer. But compared to this downright garbage building, even a sewage-filled Dusk Street became a grand place of civilization.
"Thump, thump, thump, thump!!"
Suddenly, a rapid succession of footsteps came from upfront. Pado Filis’s ears perked up, and she ducked into the shadows by her side, then she saw a group of Green Skin monsters carrying weapons, rushing over chaotically.
"Is there a battle up front? Who is it?"
"I don’t know, it’s a big Steel Guy, a ferocious big shrimp!"
"Well, we can’t fall behind, if I chop him down, I’ll become an even stronger Green Skin, and by then, I’ll be the boss of the Big Boss!"
The Green Skins chatted as they sped through the corridor, and only then did Pado Filis come out of the shadows, covering her mouth and nose. The disgusting stench from those Green Skins almost made her puke, but fortunately, she was quick enough to cover her mouth and nose in time to avoid letting this chemical weapon take her life.
They mentioned "Big Boss?" Could the leader of these monsters be inside?
Pado Filis looked at the corridor the Green Skins had just come from, contemplated a bit, then decided to proceed further.
Based on her experience, the most valuable things are always within reach of the leader. In games, players only get the treasure hidden in the leader’s room after defeating the BOSS.
Following this logic, this should be no exception—hopefully.
