Chapter 671: Yun Qiu, the Little Bun
As someone who has been through this before, seeing Xu Mumu waking up so late, Professor Song was overjoyed, feeling that soon he could be taking care of a child again. Just the thought made him excited.
Xu Mumu, under Professor Song’s gaze, blushed and shifted her face away. Professor Song’s intent was all too obvious, and she felt slightly overwhelmed.
Ugh, why does everyone want her to have another baby, and they don’t even try to hide it?
When Madam Chun brought in breakfast, Xu Mumu’s face turned even redder. Not only was there chicken soup, but also a variety of nourishing foods, and going by what Madam Chun said, these were supposed to aid fertility.
Whether they aid fertility or not, she wasn’t sure, but Madam Chun’s efforts were certainly noticeable. Xu Mumu quickly lost interest in other matters and focused on eating. After so much activity last night, she was already hungry, feeling like she could eat a whole cow.
Having finished breakfast, Xu Mumu sat lazily in the room reading, while a young voice reciting lessons could be heard from outside. She glanced outside and then retracted her gaze; the little one seemed to be taking things a bit more seriously.
Xu Mumu felt a pang of sympathy. Although the little one wasn’t as scared as before, that incident still had an impact on him.
In the following days, Yin Yang became increasingly busy, leaving early and returning late. Xu Mumu didn’t ask much about what he was up to, just sensed that he was dealing with something significant.
After waiting for over a week, Xu Mumu finally learned the aftermath of Qu Ying’s matter from Yin Yang.
Qu Ying had already been sentenced, and the other kidnappers were sentenced too. Yin Yang had made sure their life inside would not be easy.
Additionally, Qu Xianrong had been demoted. Though he had been investigated due to Qu Ying’s issues, he reacted quickly. Although he was demoted, he wasn’t expelled from the team.
Xu Mumu didn’t care about Qu Xianrong’s situation, but knowing from Yin Yang that Qu Ying’s days wouldn’t be easy, she felt uplifted.
With Qu Ying’s matter temporarily put to rest, when at home, Xu Mumu spent her time either reading the books sent by Dean Duan or inquiring about the company’s status with Du Yu.
The company’s development remained stable. Although imitation products appeared on the market, they hadn’t significantly impacted their electric bike brand.
Compared to other companies whose electric bikes frequently had problems, Guangming’s bikes were of excellent quality. Not only was the quality good, but the after-sales service was excellent as well, so those imitation products posed no threat to Guangming’s standing.
While Xu Mumu was enjoying her reading at home, her sister-in-law went into labor.
Fortunately, it happened at night while Xu Minghui was there. He immediately drove Jiang Yuxiu to the provincial hospital.
Upon receiving the call, Xu Mumu prepared to leave the little one at home and planned to visit with Yin Yang.
"Mom, I want to go too. I want to see my baby brother or sister," the little one looked at his mom expectantly, already changed into a new outfit.
"Alright, but we might have to wait a while over there. Make sure you don’t fall asleep," responded Xu Mumu helplessly, bringing her son along. Before leaving, she took along two small blankets.
When the family arrived at the hospital, Jiang Yuxiu had already entered the delivery room, and Xu Minghui was accompanying her inside while Li Caixia and the others waited anxiously outside.
"Mom, hasn’t my sister-in-law given birth yet?" Xu Mumu, holding Doudou, sat beside Li Caixia. Fengfeng obediently sat on the other side, staring intently at the delivery room door.
"Not yet, it’s only been half an hour since she went in. It’s still early," Madam Chen replied calmly. Having delivered six children herself and assisted in several childbirths for her daughters-in-law, she was well-experienced.
Given Jiang Yuxiu’s not-so-great health, Xu Minghui wasn’t comfortable with her delivering at home. That’s why he brought her directly to the provincial hospital.
The family waited outside, while inside, anguished cries occasionally emanated from the delivery room. Xu Mumu, hearing them, felt a pang in her heart, recalling the painful experience of giving birth to Doudou. Fortunately, back then, Doudou was well-behaved and didn’t make too much fuss, coming out of her stomach rather quickly.
Holding Xu Mumu’s hand, Yin Yang’s grip was warm. Xu Mumu’s hands were a bit cold, causing him to recall the past birth scene. The thought of their future daughter means his wife enduring such pain again made him feel deeply for her, and he reconsidered. Maybe they shouldn’t have another baby.
With Yin Yang’s hand warming her own, Xu Mumu soon felt her heart calm down.
Looking at Yin Yang sitting beside her, providing strength, she smiled. This man had such a magical ability to soothe the fears in her heart.
Grasping Yin Yang’s hand, the couple exchanged a glance and shared a smile.
The family waited outside the delivery room for over three hours before the sound of a baby crying emerged.
Instantaneously, everyone perked up.
Even the two little ones who had started to nod off immediately woke up, eager to see the new baby.
The mother was soon wheeled out, with the newborn already cleaned and placed beside her. Jiang Yuxiu was asleep, with Xu Minghui by her side the whole time.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" Once back in the ward, Li Caixia eagerly asked.
"It’s a girl," Xu Minghui replied, a smile spreading across his face.
"A girl is good. She’ll definitely be as beautiful as our Mumu," Madam Chen was the first to laugh. The other Xu family members quickly chimed in agreement. Li Caixia was not one to favor boys over girls. She thought having a granddaughter was nice too. Besides, her son and daughter-in-law were still young; they could surely have more children, and the girls from Old Xu Family had always turned out to be outstanding.
"Brother, have you thought of a name for the child?" Xu Mumu asked with a smile.
The little girl, soft and tiny, though reddish and a bit wrinkled, might not look very pretty now, but her skin felt very tender.
"Yes, it was decided long ago. The girl’s name is Yun Qiu," Xu Minghui said with a smile, looking at his little daughter cozily nestled beside her mother, his heart softened.
"Yun Qiu, what a lovely name. This child feels quite substantial, must be around six pounds," Li Caixia said, holding the little one.
"Yeah, six pounds seven ounces," Xu Minghui confirmed, speaking earnestly. The child had been well-nourished in the womb, making her a bit larger and causing some difficulty during delivery.
"Mom, I have a sister now." Doudou reached out and poked Yun Qiu’s cheek, "Sister isn’t pretty," the little one said, slightly disappointed, expecting his sister to be fair and plump.
