Chapter 668: One of the Jade Pendant’s Effects

The next morning, Xu Mumu was woken up by the little one. The little one had woken up, or perhaps not.

He found himself lying in his parents’ room and was happily rolling around on the bed. He had never slept with both of his parents before.

Ever since he could remember, he had slept in his own little bed, always by himself.

His mother’s embrace was fragrant and soft, and he particularly liked it.

"Your mother is still sleeping, don’t move around, or I’ll throw you out." Watching the little one move back and forth, Yin Yang lowered his voice threateningly.

"Ooh." The little brat obediently stayed still, staring at his sleeping mother in front of him.

"I’m already awake." Having heard the entire conversation between the father and son, Xu Mumu felt quite touched. The little one was so considerate, she felt her life was worth it.

"Do you want to sleep a bit longer?" Yin Yang looked at Xu Mumu with concern.

"No need." Xu Mumu shook her head.

Getting up briskly and washing up, Xu Mumu felt particularly good today. The messy thoughts from yesterday were completely gone now. She felt like a totally normal person.

After breakfast, someone came to the house. It was Lin Zhengze, who had come to report the progress of yesterday’s affair.

"How’s the investigation going?" Yin Yang looked at Lin Zhengze indifferently, not intending to avoid his wife and child.

"Yang, it’s all in here. Although it went through several layers, as expected, it was that Miss Qu who hired someone to do it. She just got lucky connecting with the likes of Poison Wolf." Lin Zhengze explained seriously. Poison Wolf was that bald man.

Qu Ying originally wanted to casually find someone to kidnap Doudou, as revenge on Yin Yang and Xu Mumu, and she had some other thoughts. After all, Yin Yang was good-looking, and her dad was so wary of him.

As long as his child was gone, that woman would be gone too. Wouldn’t she have the chance to rise up?

She didn’t expect that the people she found would, through several layers, connect with Poison Wolf instead.

Anyway, since Qu Ying offered a lot of money, Poison Wolf was of course tempted and took the job without hesitation.

Upon hearing this, Xu Mumu’s face turned cold. She never thought that woman’s intentions would be so vicious. She had thought Qu Ying was just a spoiled child. She was furious at the thought that Doudou could be taken from her side. The killing intent inside her kept surging.

Standing below, Lin Zhengze was shocked. This lady’s ability seemed not simple. He had heard Zhou Yunhong mention that Xu Mumu was not simple, but he hadn’t taken it to heart. The lady always appeared gentle and gracious, and he hadn’t had the chance to see this other side of her.

Lin Zhengze lowered his head, realizing he needed to reassess this lady, as the killing intent was definitely the result of having seen blood.

Xu Mumu felt the Jade Pendant in her clothes warm up slightly, and that surge of killing intent dissipated completely. The urge to kill was once again suppressed.

Xu Mumu lowered her head, obediently sat beside Yin Yang, and took a sip from a water cup on the table. Her surprise was no less than anyone else’s. If it weren’t for Lin Zhengze being here, she would have wanted to immediately take out the Nine Eight Jade Pendant to examine it closely.

Yin Yang also noticed Xu Mumu’s abnormality. Now wasn’t the time to talk, so he let Lin Zhengze continue speaking.

"Yang, what do you plan to do about this?" Lin Zhengze finished reporting all the intelligence he had gathered and then looked at Yin Yang.

"What to do? Of course, handle it officially. I warned them, but someone is courting death. Deliver the evidence to the police station. I want that woman to spend the rest of her life in prison." Yin Yang said coldly.

"Yes." Lin Zhengze nodded.

"By the way, send a copy of these things to Qu Xianrong, let him see how his daughter is bringing him down from grace." Yin Yang’s lips curved into a bloodthirsty smile. If Qu Xianrong can’t teach his kid properly, society would teach her the way to live.

"Yes." Lin Zhengze noted respectfully, and indeed, Yang was still the same Yang. This move was killing with cruelty, and this would probably anger Qu Xianrong to death, leaving his official career with no room for advancement. Whether he’d be investigated was another matter.

After sending off Lin Zhengze, Xu Mumu took out the Jade Pendant. It was still the same-looking pendant, with no signs of the earlier heat.

"Is something wrong with the Jade Pendant?" Yin Yang looked at Xu Mumu with concern.

"Probably not. Every time I feel a surge of bloodthirsty thoughts, this thing always calms me down." Xu Mumu considered the Jade Pendant in her hand thoughtfully, as if she had glimpsed some of its purpose.

In her last life, she had also carried this Jade Pendant, but nothing like this had ever happened. She had never been particularly angry, and those things hardly made her lose her temper. Those who tried to kill her or were against her were either easily killed by her or thrown to feed zombies.

The only time she lost control was when trying to save a child. She didn’t even know why she felt compassion back then. It was a pity though, saving the child cost her own life.

"I suppose it’s a good thing you’re wearing it." Yin Yang said seriously. He didn’t want to see his beloved wife lose control again, which would break his heart.

"Hmm, I think so too." Xu Mumu agreed, preparing to place the Jade Pendant back under her clothes.

"Do you think that old blind man foresaw everything that happened today?" Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang, her eyes somewhat bewildered.

"What are you thinking? If that were the case, the old blind man wouldn’t be a normal person; he’d be a god." Yin Yang shook his head, attributing it to coincidence. This Jade Pendant was originally his wife’s, returned by the blind man.

"That’s true, but I still have a bit of uncertainty inside." Xu Mumu pursed her lips.

"Mommy, this pendant is so pretty." The little one said, sitting on Xu Mumu’s lap and looking at the Jade Pendant in her hands, his eyes bright.

"What’s pretty about it? The jade quality isn’t good at all, not as good as the pendant your great-grandfather gave you." Xu Mumu smiled lightly.

"But this pendant makes me feel very comfortable." The little one said earnestly.

"Oh? Comfortable in what way?" Yin Yang’s interest was piqued.

"I don’t know, just feels close, like being near mommy." The little one thought for a moment and said.

Xu Mumu smiled helplessly, putting the Jade Pendant back. She couldn’t figure it out now, and when the time came, she was sure to understand. Even if this Jade Pendant was just an ordinary one, it could serve as a testament to her past life, a piece of nostalgia.

Yin Yang also didn’t say anything. He couldn’t see anything particularly magical about the Jade Pendant, but the fact that it came with his wife from another world to here was enough to prove its extraordinariness.
