Chapter 666: Going Home Soon

"Dean Duan." Yin Yang smiled and greeted Dean Duan.

After taking a look and seeing everyone had arrived, he led them to the private restaurant he had booked.

The private restaurant wasn’t far from the academy, and there were quite a few people around, so they decided to walk instead of driving.

Upon arriving at the private restaurant, Yin Yang directly asked for a large private room and brought everyone inside.

Xu Mumu had been to this private restaurant before and remembered their oil-fried goose was exceptionally authentic and delicious. Xu Mumu ordered it without hesitation and let the Dean and Xu Jiaojiao take care of the other orders.

The dishes inside were not cheap, which made the Dean a bit anxious.

"Mumu, the dishes here aren’t cheap. How about we go somewhere else?" Dean Duan said helplessly, knowing his entire salary wouldn’t cover many meals here.

"Don’t worry, Dean. Over the years, we’ve made quite a bit of money running our own business. Rest assured, you know about Bright Group, right? The electric bike company? That’s my own company. We’re not short of money," Xu Mumu said with a smile. She knew the older generation was thrifty, but they lacked nothing at the moment, especially money.

Besides her earnings, Yin Yang’s money was enough to last several lifetimes, so Xu Mumu naturally did whatever made her comfortable.

"This is your company?" Duan Yunkai showed interest.

"Yeah, just something I did casually in my spare time," Xu Mumu said modestly.

"A casual effort that went nationwide and earned you fortunes. If I’d known, I would have joined you, instead of being a small-time archaeologist," Duan Yunkai joked with a laugh.

"Well, it’s too late now. If I knew you were interested, I would have sought you out long ago," Xu Mumu laughed along.

"Let’s forget about it. I prefer discovering exquisite burial artifacts to managing a company," Duan Yunkai laughed it off, shaking his hand.

"Hmph, I’d rather you were a businessman." At this point, Dean Duan looked a bit displeased with his eldest grandson. Finding a wife shouldn’t be that hard, right? It’s not like being sent to the guillotine. He just wanted to hold a great-grandchild before closing his eyes. His wish was simple and humble.

If his eldest grandson were a businessman, he might be busier, but there would be more opportunities to meet potential partners. Now, he had no requirements for Duan Yunkai’s partner; as long as she was a woman and could bear children, his demands were that simple.

Duan Yunkai kept quiet, deciding it was better to speak less; otherwise, even breathing seemed wrong in front of his grandfather.

The meal was still a happy occasion. The food tasted excellent, and even though a few kids had been there several times, there were no adapting issues.

Playing all morning, the little guy started nodding off soon after eating, and with the meal finished, Xu Jiaojiao and Xu Wan heading back to school with Duan Yunkai’s help, Xu Mumu didn’t worry. And she was even less worried about the boys heading back to school.

Xu Mumu followed beside Yin Yang, who was carrying Doudou, as the couple walked home.

Along the way, Yin Yang quietly talked to Xu Mumu about today’s events and some cooperation matters.

Xu Mumu listened patiently, hearing his accounts of business anecdotes, and before she knew it, they were home.

Yin Yang put the little one to bed and took Xu Mumu for an afternoon nap.

There weren’t many matters to attend to here in Imperial City. This trip was naturally to take his wife and son out to have fun.

In the following days, Yin Yang took his wife and son to explore all the tourist spots, big and small, around Imperial City. The little tyke was especially excited, taking countless photos in the process, seeming to enjoy posing more and more genuinely.

Xu Mumu played wildly each day with Doudou, taking pictures at all the sights. Sometimes she took photos of Yin Yang and Doudou, other times Yin Yang took pictures of her and Doudou, or they’d ask a passerby to take a family photo.

With all three having good looks, even a not-so-great photographer captured attractive shots.

"After developing so many rolls of film, it’ll take quite a bit of time," Xu Mumu remarked, looking at the rolls she had stashed away, overwhelmed by the clicking of the camera.

"No problem, I’ll have them developed here and sent back," Yin Yang said calmly.

"Such a hassle," Xu Mumu chuckled, not saying much more.

The Yin Family had businesses in Imperial City as well, mostly managed by Lin Zhengze, but Yin Yang wasn’t idle either, often handling matters.

Xu Mumu’s lifestyle was leisurely; besides taking her child out to play, she also visited professors who had taught her during college and met up with classmates, some of whom were pursuing Ph.Ds or stayed as staff.

Seeing these people, Xu Mumu felt a mix of emotions.

After almost half a month of fun in Imperial City, Xu Mumu didn’t really want to go back.

However, the little guy was thinking of the little fox at home; reminiscing about the feel of its fur made Xu Mumu a bit homesick too.

Having made up their mind, Xu Mumu and her family visited Dean Duan to inform him of their departure.

Dean Duan was reluctant to see Xu Mumu and her family leave; he really liked Xu Mumu and Doudou. Upon hearing they were leaving, he gave Xu Mumu numerous books and even more items for Doudou, including food, toys, and essentials.

"Dean, isn’t this too much stuff?" Xu Mumu looked at the pile of things with a headache.

"Not too much at all, these are all things Doudou can use. After this farewell, who knows when we’ll meet again," said Dean Duan with a hint of melancholy.

Ah, it’s time to go home and urge his grandson to marry sooner; he wants to have a great-grandchild.

Xu Mumu accepted everything, deciding to frequently send things to the Dean after seeing how much the little one enjoyed them.

Over there at the Dean’s, Duan Yunkai, just one young man, couldn’t handle everything.

After bidding farewell to Dean Duan, they saw Professor Shen and Professor An, and knowing they were doing well, Xu Mu felt at ease.

Walking hand in hand back home with Doudou, she realized she had so many relatives and friends in Imperial City.

"Mom, what are you thinking about?" the little guy curiously looked up at his mom.

"Oh, nothing, just that I’m a bit reluctant to leave here. Are you going to miss it too, Doudou?" Xu Mumu smiled at the little guy.

"Yes, if we go back, we won’t see Second Uncle and the others, but if we don’t go back, I’ll miss Great-Grandpa and them," the little one earnestly replied.

"True, your grandma and the others are probably thinking about us already, and your eldest aunt is due to have her baby soon," Xu Mumu smiled, realizing there was much to miss at home too.
