Chapter 655: Want to Grow Up Right Away

"I want to take photos with Doudou and also with the little fox." Little Fengfeng immediately said, feeling it was not fun to take photos alone; he wanted to take pictures with Doudou.

"Sure, no problem, let’s go to the backyard on my side; there are some beautiful flowers blooming there, and the photos taken will definitely look great." Xu Mumu said with a smile.

"Let’s go." The little one couldn’t hold back any longer and directly pulled Xu Mumu, wanting to take photos right away.

Seeing his eager look, Xu Mumu didn’t even know what to say. This little one, whatever he does, he does it with such a hustle and bustle.

Arriving at the backyard, Xu Mumu placed the little fox into Doudou’s arms. The two kids started posing in various styles for the photos, making the courtyard quite lively.

Before long, Professor Song and Professor Jian also came over to join the fun. The little one in the middle had become the center of attention.

Xu Mumu captured these moments with her camera, looking at the little one’s radiant face, thinking these will surely become the most beautiful memories for the little one.

After all the excitement that afternoon, the remaining film at home was used up, and the two kids had thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Early the next morning, Xu Mumu got up early to send her younger siblings to school.

Of course, Doudou was going with his mom too. The little guy, holding a hot water bottle, hurried over to his uncle with his tiny legs.

"Uncle." The little one’s voice was clear and immediately drew everyone’s attention.

"In this cold weather, it’s okay if you come to see them off, but why bring Doudou too? What if he catches a cold?" Xu Minglei picked up his little nephew and said helplessly.

"Uncle, I’m not cold. I have a hot water bottle." The little one showed the rabbit fur hot water bottle to Uncle. Yin Yang specially made this hot water bottle for him, covering it with a thick layer of rabbit fur to avoid burning the little one with excessively hot water.

This rabbit fur hot water bottle is finely crafted and very cute and is much liked by the little one.

However, the little guy is in good health and not afraid of the cold at all. If it weren’t for setting out early that day, he wouldn’t even want to carry this hot water bottle.

"I have one too, but I’m not afraid of the cold." Fengfeng proudly puffed out his chest.

"I’m not afraid either, but mom worries that I’ll get cold." The little one was not to be outdone. He didn’t feel cold at all, but his mom always treated him like a little kid, even though he was already a big boy.

"Your mom is just looking out for you; getting sick feels awful." Xu Minglei said, holding his little nephew with a smile, not knowing what the two kids were comparing.

"I won’t get sick." The little guy said earnestly. He had never been sick, strong since childhood without a single cold or fever.

Xu Minglei smiled wryly, and when they reached the train station, Xu Mumu saw the kids off onto the train. Turning around, she saw her mother secretly wiping tears.

"Mom, they’ve gone. Minglei will call us when he reaches Imperial City, don’t worry." Xu Mumu said, holding Li Caixia’s arm. Li Caixia always complained about her sons, but now that they’re gone, she worries about them.

"Who’s worried about him? He’s grown enough to take care of himself." Li Caixia said stubbornly.

"Yes, yes, I’m the one worried about Minglei." Xu Mumu said with a smile.

After seeing off Xu Minglei, Xu Hai also took the train to Hai City the next day to explore the market there.

The Xu Family’s house suddenly felt quieter, but Jiang Yuxiu’s belly was getting bigger, and Xu Mumu was a bit concerned, going over with Doudou every day to keep her company.

Meanwhile, it’s time for the younger brother to start school.

Without his uncle around to play with him everywhere, the little guy was listless.

"Mom, I want to go to school too." The little one, bored, flipping through the comic book in his hands, which his uncle had brought for him. The illustrations were utterly fascinating.

"Why are you suddenly thinking of studying? You’re still young; you’ll have to wait till next year to start school." Xu Mumu smiled as she pinched her son’s small cheek, very soft, like tender tofu.

"When will I grow up?" The little one became melancholy, feeling that he was growing so slow.

Xu Mumu twitched her mouth. This little guy really had a lot on his mind every day.

"Growing up doesn’t happen overnight." Jiang Yuxiu laughed. She, too, was looking forward to having a well-behaved child like Doudou. She touched her belly; in two months, the baby would be born, and the family had already prepared everything for the child.

"But I want to grow up right away." The little one said unhappily.

"What a dream it is, if you grow up all at once, then you’ll get old in no time." Xu Mumu patted the little guy on the head.

As they talked, the phone at home rang. It was Xu Minglei calling to say he safely arrived at school.

Knowing her brother had arrived safely, Xu Mumu and the others relaxed immediately; it was a relief he got there safely.

In Imperial City, at Xu Mumu’s place, she specially reserved a room for him there. If living at the school became uncomfortable or during breaks, he could stay in Imperial City.

After they were done, the little guy held onto the phone, expressing how much he missed his uncle.

Xu Mumu listened in amusement; this little guy was so good at making people happy. She hadn’t seen him missing his uncle while at home, happily playing with the little fox and the two dogs.

The little guy was indeed talkative, holding onto the phone for more than half an hour before he finally put it down.

"What were you and your uncle talking about for so long?" Xu Mumu asked with a smile.

"Uncle told me about things at the university. He said if I go to Imperial City, he could take me to his school. Mom, where is Imperial City? Is it far? I want to see uncle." The little guy said with shining eyes.

"Imperial City is far away; it takes two to three days by train. I used to study there, remember all those pictures at home? You’ve seen them all." Xu Mumu said with a smile. She hadn’t been to Imperial City in years and wondered how things were there.

Her son wanted to go, so perhaps at the end of the year or next year, they could visit Imperial City.

That night, when Yin Yang returned, Xu Mumu mentioned this to him.

"The little one is missing Imperial City, huh? Well, I have an important collaboration in Imperial City in a while, and although I wasn’t planning to go personally, if you all want to, we could go there for a trip." Yin Yang thought aloud.

"When is it?" Xu Mumu asked, miss the days in Imperial City a bit; she wanted to see how her siblings were doing with their studies there.
