Chapter 628: Visitors at the Courtyard
Early the next morning, Yin Yang left the small yard with the jar containing the little snake.
Yin Yang brought them to this part of Fengyuan City, where he has a small yard. It’s well-kept, with dedicated staff for cooking and cleaning, making Xu Mumu and the others’ stay quite comfortable.
"Mom, let’s go to the park." Not far from the small yard is a small park. The little one has been there once; there is a pond full of koi, and he really likes the fish in it.
"Okay, I’ll bring some fish food." Xu Mumu smiled and nodded; if the little one wants to go, then let’s go.
The weather was gradually getting hotter, so Xu Mumu put a light blue hat on the little one and wore a sunhat herself, and they headed out.
As she held the little one’s hand walking outside, two bodyguards followed behind. Ever since the incident with Yun Qian’s bodyguards causing trouble for Xu Mumu, Yin Yang did not dare let her take Doudou out alone.
Though not quite used to being followed by bodyguards, Xu Mumu was relieved they kept a respectful distance behind her.
Arriving at the small park, which was particularly busy given it was the weekend.
Xu Mumu leisurely strolled with Doudou in the park, which was nicely built. The occasional breeze felt very pleasant, dispelling any sense of sweltering heat.
Reaching the pond, where many had gathered to see the koi—this park was built recently, and the koi here are still relatively small.
Thinking of the chubby koi in the Yin Family’s old courtyard, Xu Mumu almost laughed out loud.
Neither Xu Mumu nor Yin Yang has taken the child back to the Yin Family’s old home yet. If Doudou knew about the koi there, he’s sure to like them.
Doudou held a bit of fish food and scattered it into the pond, "Fishy, time to eat." The little one was excited as can be, feeding the fish for the first time.
Xu Mumu watched nearby, making sure the little one didn’t accidentally fall in.
The pond wasn’t deep, but Doudou was still quite small.
Holding the fish food and approaching the fish, Doudou tempted the fish, many of which often receive food from park-goers, into gathering around his outstretched hand.
When Doudou’s hand entered the water, the fish immediately smelled the fish food’s aroma and swarmed over.
A whole crowd of fish surrounded the little one, making quite a spectacular scene.
Although the little one’s hands were small and unable to grasp the fish, he was playing happily.
"Mom, so many fish!" The little one’s eyes shone brightly, wanting Xu Mumu to join the fun.
"Yes, I see. But you can only play for a little while here, not too much in the water." Xu Mumu smiled, recalling how much the little one loves playing with water at home, sometimes taking quite a while before letting someone dry him after baths.
The little one nodded obediently, knowing he wasn’t allowed to play with water much at home.
After the fish food was thrown into the pond to feed the fish, and the fish were drawn by the others’ offerings, Xu Mumu led the little one away. As they left, he looked so reluctant to go that it pained Xu Mumu.
Taking the little one to rest in a pavilion for a while, Xu Mumu wiped the sweat from his forehead with a cloth as the sun grew hotter.
"Hungry? Want to eat something?" Xu Mumu pulled out some snacks she had prepared earlier.
"Yes, I want to eat." Doudou’s eyes shone immediately, and due to his superpower, he generally ate more and got hungry more quickly.
Seeing the little one eat happily brought a gentle smile to Xu Mumu’s face.
As the sun outside the pavilion grew stronger, the little one didn’t like running around in such heat.
Although he hadn’t played enough, he behaved obediently.
When they went back, Xu Mumu put a hat on the little one, holding his hand as they returned.
Back at the yard, to Xu Mumu’s surprise, guests had arrived.
"Hello, is this Miss Xu? I’m Qian Xia, and this is my daughter, Yu Xiaohui." the visitor introduced herself along with her identity as the wife of the owner of Qiu Yun Group, which had collaborated with Yin Yang several times, having a good relationship. When Yin Yang mentioned that Xu Mumu and her son felt bored at home, Yu Mian suggested that his wife bring their child over for a visit.
Hearing Qian Xia’s explanation, Xu Mumu was slightly surprised, never expecting such an arrangement.
Yu Xiaohui, already five years old but rather shy, was intrigued by Doudou yet remained quiet beside Qian Xia except when prompted to greet.
"Sister, let’s play." Doudou brought out his toy, a little bear that Xu Mumu had bought for him a while ago, which he really liked.
Originally, Xu Mumu had intended to mail it back home for later play, but now the little one enjoyed sleeping hugging it.
Now, the little one was willing to share his toy, which honestly surprised Xu Mumu a bit.
But soon, she was touched, realizing the little one had no real playmates and mainly played with Fengfeng at home. In their current residence, there weren’t any children except for Fengfeng, aside from Professor Song and Professor Jian, who occasionally interacted with them.
Xu Mumu pressed her lips gently, acknowledging that she had overlooked this and needed to let the little one socialize more and find playmates.
"Your child is so considerate; Huian is always so shy, no matter how often I try." Qian Xia admired Xu Mumu with a hint of envy.
"I suppose; girls tend to be a bit more reserved." Xu Mumu replied with a smile.
Although they weren’t very familiar, due to their children, they found much to discuss and soon became more acquainted.
By midday, Xu Mumu invited Qian Xia and her daughter to stay for lunch.
Yin Yang did not return at noon, but there was a dedicated cook at the small yard, whose culinary skills pleased Xu Mumu greatly.
After lunch, Qian Xia bade farewell, inviting them for a playdate the next day.
Xu Mumu agreed as there wasn’t much to do anyways, and Qian Xia, familiar with the area, knew what was fun and kid-friendly, making it a good opportunity to join them.
After saying goodbye to Qian Xia and her daughter, Xu Mumu cleaned up the little one a bit, as it was his usual naptime.
"Mom, tomorrow, we’ll play again." The little one remembered Qian Xia’s words.
