Chapter 55: Use your Words

"I’m so glad you picked me to come along with you, Master," Riker spoke in a hyped tone as he walked along Ren. He was a few steps ahead, like he wanted to lead the charge to wherever they were going.

"Keep your calm and your guard. We are going to meet humans. They can be unpredictable," Ezra said. She walked one step behind Ren, like she was not allowed to be ahead.

"Hmmm, are humans really that special? There is no way they can overpower Master now, can they?" he asked and then looked at Ren for confirmation.

"Master is above normal, but regardless, we have to keep our composure," she stated.

’Damn, she’s tall, looks up to me. It’s a new feeling, and it’s damn good. Hahahahaha.’

"Master, why not just fly over there?" Riker asked.

"Because we don’t want to scare them or cause them to panic," Ren replied. "I want to meet them on somewhat level ground and not send them right into a panic," he explained.

He turned on Dragon Eyes and looked far ahead through the forest. He saw the humans headed their way, all armed and ready to fight. He was certain that they were adventurers for sure.

"We will soon get there, so keep your head up and watch," he stated.

They walked after that in silence, and finally, they got to the humans. They did not come out right there and show themselves but rather waited in a blind spot and watched the humans.

There were a total of twenty, five women and the rest were men who seemed eager to be here.

"Oi, Leon, where did ya say the dragon is again? We’ve been out here a while. You didn’t run a wise one on us, ya?" one man asked. He was tall and very muscular with dark brown flowing hair and a thick beard. He had on leather armor and an axe on his back.

"Calm yourself, Gerald. It’s not that easy to find a dragon, but I know it’s here," Leon said.

"Hmm, ya better not be lying," the man replied and kept walking.

"They are looking for you, Master?" Riker asked.

"Tch, how dare those humans? We should cut them down, Riker," Ezra spoke. Her eyes turned to slits, heavy with anger.

"Calm down, Ezra. They probably saw me during the battle against Calamity. If that was the case, then it was sure that they would try to come back.

Now the issue is, are they here to try and see if the dragon is real, or do they want to kill me?"

Riker glanced at Ezra when Ren said that, and Ezra was fuming. If she could explode at this moment, she would. She managed to keep it down and keep a straight face.

Meanwhile, as they watched, Ren’s gaze locked onto a young lady. She had beautiful blue hair that seemed like flames, and her eyes were red as chaos.

As he looked at her, she suddenly stopped and turned to look right at him even though she could not see him from behind the wall of shrubs.

"Oh, this is interesting," Ren muttered.

"Hey, Luna, let’s go," one of the adventurers yelled out to her, but she stayed put, and this action pulled all their attention. Everyone knew that she was weird in many ways, so they all turned and looked at where she was looking.

"There is nothing there, Luna. Let’s get moving," another lady said and tried to grab her hand, but she shrugged it off and kept her eyes pinned there.

It slowly started turning into an argument as some of them started yelling at her, but she did not budge, nor did she move.

Leon finally stepped up and faced the direction. He pulled his sword and took his stance, pulled one hand back, and then went for a slash. The air was torn apart as an invisible slash ripped through the air and cut right into the bush in one slash, revealing Ren standing there.

"Now that’s not cool. You could have hit me with that," Ren said with a frown. He stepped forward, followed by Riker and Ezra.

The moment everyone there saw the three of them, a sense of panic washed over them in an instant, and they all pulled out their weapons and got ready to fight.

"Stand back, don’t come close!" Leon yelled.

"Oi, who the heck are ya?" Gerald asked as he reached for his axe and stepped forward.

Ren looked at him and smiled. "I’m Ren, Ren Crimson, and I’m the Forest Lord of this here territory that you have stepped in."

He introduced himself.

"Forest Lord?" one adventurer said in shock.

"That’s impossible. Everyone knows about the Calamity Orc. It can’t be you," one adventurer said.

One stepped forward, a dual wielder, and immediately charged ahead with no attempt to ask a question at all.

"Stand down!" Leon yelled, but the young man had leaped into the air and was already swinging down.

Riker flapped his wings and shot into the air faster than a bullet. He spun and used his tail to slam into the back of the adventurer.

BAM!

The adventurer slammed into the ground with a loud thud, followed by a deep groan. Riker landed beside him and pressed down with his tail. He then looked up at the rest.

"Use your words. I’ll kill the next," he said as his eyes glowed. He was not alone. Ezra was seething with rage at this point, so much that Ren could feel it, and it scared even him.

The adventurers were stunned by what happened, but they knew that they had to get their man back, so they all activated whatever power they had in an attempt to scare Ren and force him into some sort of submission.

Spells were activated, mana was surging, everything that could be seen.

Ren looked at it all and then let out a smile. He raised one finger, and the tip glowed purple.
