Chapter 27: Ch 27: Master Grimblade’s Quests

Since Raidan was a Quest Creator, he couldn’t take quests from others.

And yet, he agreed: "Alright. I will do it."

The innkeeper felt at ease. He then revealed the secret location where he had hidden the Forbidden Summoning Scroll.

It was buried in the ground beneath his son’s bed.

After the innkeeper drew his last breath, Raidan went and dug the scroll up from the dirt.

It was a pitch-black scroll with a demonic skull on top.

As soon as he touched it, he began to hear whispers of forbidden power and world domination. But they were completely ineffective on Raidan.

He tried to tear it using his 60 points of ATK, burn it with fire, and slice it with his Mythril sword, but all his attempts proved futile.

Helpless, Raidan stored it inside his inventory, deciding to destroy it later with stronger methods.

Afterward, just before the sun completely rose, he buried the father and son in the courtyard of their inn.

Not long after that, he headed toward the exact spot where he had assigned The Shadow’s Errand quest to Fiona.

Bearing the demeanor of a true Swordmaster, he waited until Fiona’s figure appeared on the road.

Stopping before Raidan, she excitedly explained how she had completed the quest in Merchant Zodna’s house.

She even pulled out the records of corruption he had demanded for the quest.

As for why the quest had registered as completed before he even met with her, it was because he didn’t have any physical items to give her as a reward anyway.

And that had turned out to be incredibly timely help.

After taking the stack of documents from Fiona’s hands, he briefly scanned the parchment, noting the detailed records of Merchant Zodna’s illicit dealings.

It was exactly what he needed to maintain his grand facade.

"You have done well, adventurer. Your stealth and efficiency are highly commendable."

Fiona’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Players like her lived for this kind of validation from hidden high-tier NPCs.

"Thank you, Master Grimblade! Is there anything else you need me to do?" she asked eagerly, bouncing slightly on her heels.

Raidan pondered for a moment. He currently had a demonic scroll sitting in his inventory that defied all his physical and magical attempts to destroy it. Furthermore, if the Crimson Graveyard was mobilizing their killers across Vanir City to find it, he needed eyes and ears in places he could not easily reach.

Fiona, as a player with her own network and abilities, was the perfect tool for this task. freewebnøvel.coɱ

He tapped into his Quest Creator system and began drafting a new mission.

In a solemn tone, Raidan said:

"Brave adventurer, the shadows in Vanir City are growing darker. A demonic cult known as the Crimson Graveyard is plotting a massacre, and they are aggressively searching for a catalyst to summon an ancient evil. I require information on their hideouts, as well as a specific method to destroy dark artifacts of the highest order."

"Huh! Really!"

Fiona was clearly thrilled by the sudden escalation in the storyline.

Raidan finalized the parameters in his mind and issued the prompt.

Fiona left as quickly as she had come, leaving Raidan alone by the roadside once again.

The shopkeeper lady kept glancing at him strangely.

Raidan decided to wait for more players to approach. He even performed a few fancy sword movements he had seen on TV and in anime.

Any expert could tell that his swordsmanship was flawed, but not the rookies who barely knew anything.

They would be impressed by almost anything.

After all, a swordsman was a very promising quest assigner.

Soon, a bald man approached him.

"Man, do you have a quest for me?" he asked lazily while scratching his butt.

Judging from his appearance, he hadn’t even reached Level 10 yet.

Despite that, Raidan, now fully taking on the persona of Master Grimblade, smiled jovially.

"Ah, brave adventurer. I can see the hidden potential lying dormant within your saggy bones." ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

The bald man stopped scratching his butt and looked at Raidan with gullible eyes.

"Really? You can see that?"

"Indeed," Raidan nodded sagely.

In reality, he just needed someone to do his menial tasks. Since he was now Level 13 and had to figure out a way to deal with the Crimson Graveyard, he needed some basic supplies. Plus, assigning quests was the best way to farm attributes through his multiplier system.

Raidan quickly opened his Quest Creator interface. He needed to assign something simple enough for this rookie to handle, but useful enough to yield a good return.

Taking a dramatic pose with his Mythril sword, Raidan uttered:

"I am Master Grimblade. I am preparing for a great battle against the dark forces plaguing this city. However, my time is strictly occupied with deep meditation and grand strategy. That’s why I require a dedicated soul to gather essential materials for my upcoming rituals."

The bald player grinned and thumped his chest proudly.

"Just tell me what to do, Master Grimblade!"
