Chapter 865: Chapter 865: She Reflected

When Scarlet said the last sentence out, she felt relieved. Actually, she didn’t think God could really help her. But after the confession, she really felt happier and more relaxing.

She turned around and stepped out of the church. The sky outside was bright. But she didn’t feel the warmth. She felt so depressed. Her world was not dimmed and despair. freewebnovёl.ƈom

When Scarlet returned back home, it had been six o’clock in the evening. Jason was not in Scarlet’s house. At the moment, he was looking for Scarlet everywhere.

Edie told her Jason had used all resources to look for her. He really swept the city.

Hearing these words, Scarlet froze. Her eyes were dry. She didn’t feel a drop of tear.

After quite a while, she reflected.

"I see... Okay. I come here to pack my stuff. I need to go home now."

Hearing her words, Edie felt something wrong with her. She frowned slightly and grabbed her hands. She wanted to stop her. Scarlet’s hands were so cold, scarily cold.

"Scarlet, what’s up? I am so worried about you. Everyone is so worried about you. You’ve changed. You look pale. What did that woman tell you? Who is her?"

"My client. Nothing important. I just...I just want to go home now."

"What about Jason?"

"You call him. Ask him to go home. I have something to tell him."

"Why don’t you make the call? Where is your mobile phone?"

"Running down," Scarlet said in an indifferent voice, and then she turned around to pack up her stuff.

Edie clenched her teeth for a while, and then she rushed towards Scarlet and took her purse. Then she took her mobile phone from the purse.

Twenty percent charged—no unchecked call. So Scarlet knew Jason kept calling her. But Scarlet didn’t explain anything to them.

Edie raised her eyes, fixing her eyes on Scarlet, "What....what is this? Why do you lie to me? Why do you still lie to me?"

"What should I say? What can I say now? I want to go home now," Scarlet took her mobile phone back and then left without any hesitation.

After packing all stuff, Scarlet placed them all in the car and drove away.

"Scarlet, are you out of your mind?" Edie couldn’t help herself shouting at her.

She couldn’t stand the despair on her face. It didn’t look like her style. At the moment, she looked just like the corpse without a soul.

She should not have been like this.

This was not Scarlet’s style.

Scarlet started the engine without saying a word to Edie.

"Scarlet, wait," Edie shouted out. She wanted to stop her. But Stuart stopped her immediately.

Stuart didn’t interfere with their conversation. But he stood aside all the time to ensure Edie’s safety.

When Edie wanted to rush to the car, he immediately ran out to stop her.

"Let them solve their problems, okay? It is impossible for you to help them all the time."

"But...that old woman Scarlet saw this afternoon. She might be a problem. Could you investigate her for me?"

"I think I might know who she is. But I could not make the decision for them," Stuart sighed and said in a peaceful voice.

"What do you mean?" Edie looked at Stuart in shock. She didn’t expect that Stuart knew the woman. She didn’t talk about her a lot to Stuart. How did he know?

Besides, why did Stuart sigh?"

Stuart could not make the decision. Who could force Stuart to stay away?

"I want to talk to Scarlet now."

"You don’t need to do this. It is their family." Scarlet grabbed her hands to stop her. ƒrēewebnovel.com

Stuart already knew the old woman was Jason’s mother.

Jason was in the middle of all these things. He was so busy that he failed to make time to analyze the situation. But Stuart was different. He was not related to these things. When he calmed down and analyzed for a while, he immediately figured out everything happened.

But this was none of his business. After all, both he and Edie were just their friends. They should not interfere with their family stuff.

They should go through all these difficulties on their own.

Edie looked into his eyes. She saw determination and isolation in his eyes.

Edie knew he would not let her go.

She couldn’t get rid of him. But she was so worried about Scarlet. She kept struggling in Scarlet’s arms, hitting on his chest.

Stuart didn’t say a word, letting Edie vent her anger.

Her best friends were confronted with something terrible. Certainly, Edie would feel worried.

When Stuart see her bursting into tears, Stuart lowered his eyes helplessly and sighed. He held her into his arms tightly, "I want to tell you. But I know you can do nothing for them. She is Jason’s mother."

"What?"

"So, I told you we can do nothing for them now. It is their own business."

Hearing Stuart’s words, Edie froze in astonishment. Tears poured out from her eyes.

She was Jason’s mother. So Scarlet was insulted by her? Did she wrong Scarlet?

Stuart was right. It is their own family stuff. From Scarlet’s attitude, Edie knew she didn’t want her to interfere with this.

Edie was her best friend. But she could do nothing...

"Stuart.....I am so sad. I want them to be happy. Scarlet is such a poor and miserable girl. She wants to hold a wedding with Jason...."

The man didn’t say a word. He kept rubbing her hair, trying to comfort her.

"Stuart....Stuart...why is it so hard to love one? Why is it so hard for them? I am so sad for them."

"Silly girl. Most people are not as lucky as us. We should treasure our luck." Stuart said gently, "As for them, all we need to do is to bless them and give them a hand when necessary. It is them that made the final saying. They should make their own decision on their own."

"I think Scarlet might give up. What can we do?"

"I...I don’t know. We can do nothing for them now." Scarlet sighed.

Scarlet drove back home. Seeing her familiar room as well as their daily expenses, she suddenly wanted to burst into tears.

Finally, she took a deep breath slowly and held all her tears back. Then, she turned around, stepping into the kitchen.

Her right hand hadn’t recovered totally yet. It was so hard for her to cook.

Her left hand was burned by dropping oil and hot water several times. Finally, she got dinner ready.

Two plates of the dish and one bowl of soup. Enough for them

Though it tasted weird, she didn’t care. After all, it was their farewell dinner. They might not be in the mood to enjoy it.

Then, she opened her wine cabinet. It might be the largest cabinet in the kitchen.

There was lots of wine there. Scarlet chose the best red wine. She wanted to celebrate.

When Jason came back, the light insides were turned off. Jason could only see the light from the red candle on the table.

Scarlet stood under the light. She was smiling at him.

He saw that food on the table. Apparently, she’s been back for a while. Why didn’t she call him that she was home?

Did she have any idea how he was worried about her?

He was almost driven crazy.

At the moment, he was so thirsty that he could say a word out. He walked to her, step by step.

Scarlet looked at him, seeing the exhaustion and tiredness on his cute face.

"Where have you been? Who talked to you today? Why didn’t you answer my call?"
