Chapter 79: Chapter 79: I will protect You from All Evil

The receptionist brought up cold medicine shortly after. About an hour later, Stuart thought Edie had finished, so he asked, "Edie? Are you feeling better?" The bathroom was occupied by silence, then Edie’s dazed voice appeared, "Ah... yes."

Stuart frowned, "Did you fall asleep in the bathroom?" Edie felt a little guilty, she avoided the question and said, "I’m coming out now" Before she finished her sentence, a short and hastened scream came out of the bathroom. "Ah——"

The scream took a beat away from Stuart’s heart, and he rushed into the bathroom without any hesitation. "What happened!" When entering the bathroom, Stuart’s mind went blank as he witnessed the scene before him. Edie’s upper body was out of the water, sitting on the side of the bathtub, her dress almost seemed transparent under the light.

One of her legs was still in the water, another crouched before her body. She frowned as if she was enduring pain. Edie seemed unaware of how seductive she was, having noticed Stuart, she immediately said with her watery eyes, "Stuart, my foot is numb."

Stuart swallowed, his eyes avoided her body and asked, "Which leg?" Edie frowned out of pain and said, "my left leg." Stuart stepped forward, squatted down in front of the bathtub and took Edie’s left leg.

He put his hand on her ankle and started massaging it gently. When Edie felt the pain in her foot being slowly relieved, she noticed how strange it must have looked. Edie was sitting on the side of the bathtub, and Stuart was squatting in front of her. It was her first time looking down at Stuart.

As the numbness and soreness faded, the touch of his hand became more vivid. Edie took back her leg uncomfortably and said in a small voice, "I’m fine now, you can leave." Stuart stood up as if nothing had happened.

He took the towel and robe off the clothes hanger and handed them over to Edie. "Take your wet clothes off and dry yourself before you come out."

"Okay..." Edie answered in a small voice. Stuart walked outside with a flustered face. He took two deep breaths, and thoughtfully scratched his head as he realized how hard it was to hold back his desire for her. He used to have no feelings towards women.

She took the pill and drank the water; the coldness in her body slowly faded away and was replaced by warmth.

"Still cold?"

Edie shook her head, "No."

"You look tired, and you should get some sleep."

Edie’s heart went up and down like a roller coaster the whole night. Yes, she was tired, but she still wanted to know, "How did you find me? It wasn’t Mr. Luis, and it was Zoe, she tricked me at the café and drugged me."

He was having heard his words, Edie’s heartfelt warm. Actually, their relationship was only a fake relationship, but Stuart cared for her and helped her with all of his heart. Far beyond what he should’ve done.

Edie said sincerely, "Stuart, thank you." Her watery eyes were so clear, being gaze by such a pair of eyes, Stuart’s heart melted, he said in a soft voice, "It’s my responsibility."

In Stuart’s mind, she was his wife, and protecting her was his responsibility. In Edie’s mind, he’s only helping her because they are cooperative partners. The two of them possessed two completely different ideas, but somehow, they reached a strange harmony. Suddenly, Edie felt extraordinarily sleepy and yawned.

Stuart said, "Go to sleep."

"Okay."

Edie nodded with her dazed eyes, then she suddenly thought of something, there’s only one bed in the room! Although the bed in the presidential suite was a King Size, sleeping with Stuart. That would be too awkward. Stuart saw her baffled face and frozen body, and he asked, "What’s wrong?"

"Um... there’s only one bed in the room."

Stuart comprehended immediately, noticing her precaution towards him. He felt a little upset and said lightly, "That’s fine. I can sleep on the sofa." The sofa in the presidential suite was more substantial and softer than an ordinary singular bed.

Sleeping on it would be perfectly fine. However, hearing Stuart’s words, Edie felt a little guilty. Stuart was busy helping her the whole night, and she’s making the CEO of L.N. Group sleep on a sofa? She will not let this happen.

"I.....I can sleep on the sofa, Stuart, you worked so hard helping me today. You should sleep in the bed." Edie walked towards the sofa right after she finished her sentence. However, she had only taken a few steps and then, her waist felt the tension and her legs were up in the air. Stuart picked her up. He didn’t say a word, he put Edie straight in bed and tucked her in.

"So, bossy." Edie murmured.

"Fine, fine," Edie bit her lips and responded unwillingly without shutting her eyes. Her eyes blinked while looking at Stuart. He raised his eyebrows, and his face was perfect, "You like to sleep with your eyes open?"

Being stared at by his perfect eyes, Edie’s heart drummed, and she shut her eyes obediently. Shortly after closing her eyelids, sleepiness came from everywhere, and she then drifted into a deep sleep. Stuart looked at her beautiful sleeping face and leaned forward and kissed her forehead.
