Chapter 738: Chapter 738: Say Something Pleasing
Looking at her slim back, Edie felt so sorry for her. Even the coat on her looked heavier than her.
If she was Marina, Stuart’s ex-girlfriend, how could Stuart pay for her? frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Tonight, she might not be able to fall asleep.
Because of Marina and the bet with that man.
So far, all she knew here was Marina and Julia. After talking with that man, Edie knew that man was quite confident in his skills. Though one-day was too short for Edie, she still decided to challenge it.
The one that he was going to pose tomorrow must surprise her.
It would not be a man. She met lots of men.
So it must be a woman.
Julia and Marina. Which one would he pose?
Edie spent the whole night thinking about this. She opened her eyes before the dawn came. It was so boring with television and mobile phone. She was so nervous and anxious. Killing time here drove her crazy.
At seven o’clock, someone knocked on her door.
Edie got alerted immediately, "Who is it?"
"Me. Have you gotten up?" Marina asked.
Edie frowned slightly. She opened the door and checked the wounds on Marina’s face. They were still bleeding. They still looked scary.
"What’s up? Why do you come here so early?"
"I’ve made you breakfast." after knowing Edie has gotten up, she turned around to take the breakfast.
Edie stopped her, "Why are you so nice to me?"
"It is Julia’s order. I just do what I should do. She asks me to take good care of you."
Take good care of her...
When hearing her words, Edie felt so depressed.
When she wanted to answer, she felt so hot at her throat that she could not make a sound.
Soon Marina brought breakfast. The breakfast was quite simple—meat porridge.
Edie still asked Marina to eat with her.
When Edie poured a glass of water for Marina, Edie was so close to Marina that she could smell the blood on Marina’s face.
Marina looked emotionless. After thinking for a while, Edie finally asked, "Do you know a man that could disguise his look here?"
"Oh. He is Julia’s guest."
"Do you know his name?"
"No. I don’t think Julia knows."
Marina continued eating the porridge in her hands and asked Edie, "Why do you ask about him? Even Julia doesn’t know him well. She didn’t know where he came from, what organization was behind him. He could do whatever he wants to do. But he also needs to follow the order. In most cases, when he has no mission, no one knows what he has done. You’d better stay away from him. He is not an ordinary people."
"Why is he so mysterious? Why did he start working for the William’s? You know, William’s has declined these years." Edie asked.
"About this, you might have to ask himself. No one has seen his real face here. No one knew his age or height. So, he is a tough guy."
"Indeed, he is difficult. But I’ve already accepted a bet with him. If I could not win the game, he would turn me into you. But if I win the game, he would do me a favor."
Then Edie pressed her lips and smiled. She didn’t know whether she had lost her mind. She dared to play such a dangerous game with this dangerous man.
"It is your own choice. I could not change your decision."
Edie suddenly asked her, "What about Stuart?"
"I know you are his ex-girlfriend. I know your stories. I’ve heard some of your stories. Maybe I am the one that destroyed your relationship from where you stand. You’ve been away for so many years. Everyone thought you’ve already passed away. I know you are painful at the bottom of your heart, right?"
Hearing these words, Marina fixed her eyes on Edie. Edie couldn’t describe what emotions in her eyes.
She continued, "I have no right to solve this. It is up to Stuart. I would respect his decision. I would not make anything difficult for him."
"What are you talking about? I couldn’t understand. I don’t know about your husband." Marina tried to avoid looking directly towards Edie.
"Sorry,"
Edie said and lowered her eyes. Tears poured out of his eyes.
She didn’t know why she thought she should apologize to Marina.
Marina must be suffering a lot these years.
Hearing Edie’s words, Marina trembled slightly. She stood up immediately and said, "Enjoy. I would come to wash dishes later."
Then, she turned around and left immediately.
Edie held the bowl in her hands. But she couldn’t eat more.
When she stepped out of the room, she heard the conversation between Julia and the guard in black.
"Take good care of him. Give him whatever he wants. Tell me when he asked to see me."
"But...Aaron has already taken actions..."
At the moment, Julia raised her head, seeing Edie standing on the stairs. She immediately changed the topic and said to the guard, "You can leave now.
"Okay."
Edie wondered whether Julia was talking about Stuart just now. Seeing her, Edie stopped immediately. She wanted to return back to her room.
But Julia stopped her.
"Come on. Have a drink with me."
"I have something else to do...."
"Don’t you know you have no right to refuse me?" Julia sneered. Then she sat on the sofa. She had placed the red wine and the glass on the table.
She poured a glass of red wine in the glass. The red liquid was poured into the glass, reflecting the color of the demon.
Edie walked to her and sat on the opposite of her. She didn’t think Julia could be so kind that she could really invite her to have a drink.
"Are you talking about Stuart just now?"
"Beg me. If you make me happy, I might tell you where Stuart is and what happens outside now,"
Julia sneered, like a queen of victory. At the moment, she looked at Edie, like looking at a joke.,
At the moment, Edie looked so weak in her eyes.
But. Edie was not as weak as Julia has expected.
What Julia really wanted to see was Edie’s admitting her failure, instead of the indifference, as if Edie never cared about that.
Seeing the peace on Edie’s face, Julia couldn’t help herself frowning. She immediately threw the glass towards Edie.
"I am talking to you. Are you deaf?"
As the glass hit on Edie, the red wine insides the glass poured out, reddening Edie’s coat.
Stuart put the coat on her when she left home. Now it was stained.
Looking at the stained coat, Edie felt sorry for the clothes.
Seeing the expression on Edie’s face, Julia got angrier. She jumped from the sofa and rushed to Edie. Then she pinched Edie’s jaw to force Edie to look at her.
"Edie, why are you so proud? You are now nothing more than my prisoner. I can kill you anytime, like killing an aunt. I know you are not afraid of death. Do you think I need to take your daughter here to force you to kneel down in front of me?"
"No... don’t hurt her," Edie finally got nervous.
"Then, say something pleasing. If you can make me satisfied, I might let your daughter go."
