Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Gone

In the chateau, Jason wanted to play bridge, but no one played with him. Todd had been out of his mind ever since he arrived at the resort. He left Fifi behind on his way back to the chateau; apparently, he was not in the right state of mind.

Fifi was brought by Todd, in the eyes of Jason and Stuart, she still could not compare to a pet of Todd’s, and now he was in a bad mood, she could not even grasp the thought that Todd wasn’t happy.

As for Stuart, it soon got dark, and he stared at his phone as if waiting for something. Jason patted Todd on the back, "Todd, don’t you like playing bridge? The last time you said you had to win, come on, brother, let’s do it, okay?"

Todd moved his hand away, "No."

"Come on?"

"No."

"Snooker?"

"No."

"Todd, you’re not usually like this. You’re the type a person who doesn’t waste time. Todd didn’t respond when he heard his friend’s words. He waved, and he stared with empty, blank eyes. His mind was elsewhere.

Jason was really not interested in arguing with him. So, he powerlessly collapsed on the sofa, "Aren’t we here for a vacation? Why are you all in such a bad mood?"

"You don’t drink, and you don’t play cards. What is wrong with you guys, this isn’t like you at all?

What are we even doing here at the chateau?"

Suddenly Stuart thought of something and got up quickly. Jason thought, Stuart came to his senses and decided to be in a better mood. His eyes lit up, and he asked, "Finally, what do you want to play, brother?"

Stuart didn’t even glance at him. "I am going to make a phone call." He didn’t care about what Jason was thinking right now, and he had to find out. He left the chateau and went into the garden.

Stuart first dialed Edie’s phone, and it went straight to her voice mail. Her cell phone was turned off, and her location was dead. He had tried the tracking finder that Mr. Sampson installed for him, but for some reason, it wasn’t working. "What’s going on," he thought.

Stuart’s looked up, fear and anger were flashing through him. Then, he dialed Mr. Lane’s number. "Hello? Director Lane."

Director Lane was lying in bed working on the script, he heard Stuart’s voice, and he sounded worried. Suddenly Mr. Lane sat up.

"Master Yates, what can I do for you?" Receiving a phone call from Start Yates, now that was something else. He knew it had to be significant.

"Is the crew still filming?" Stuart asked.

"What was the matter? He’s asking if they are still filming? Why would he care? It’s late, and he knows they don’t film in the evening." He never expected him to ask so many questions. "Ah, no, they finished work half an hour early today," he said.

Stuart’s eyes grew cold. "What about Edie?" Director Lane was shocked when he asked about Edie. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

This afternoon, Stuart asked about the leading actress and the supporting actress. He thought he was interested in Queenie. He never expected that Master Yates was involved with Edie.

Director Lane immediately thought of The Universe Entertainment’s additional one hundred million dollar investment and how Stuart wanted Edie to be the supporting actress. Everything was starting to make sense. It finally became clear that Edie was not having sex with the senior executor of The Universe Entertainment, but with the CEO of L. N. Group, Stuart.

Stuart’s voice was as cold as ice, "Director Lane?" he shouted. He never liked repeating his words. Director Lane was horrified; he didn’t answer Stuart’s question; he was too lost in his own thoughts. He broke out in a cold sweat and started to tremble.

He then answered, "After the crew got done work Edie went back to her room. She should be there now, do you have her number? Here, just one second, and I can give it to you. I could ask one of the crew members to knock on her door to make sure she is there if she would like?"

Stuart said in a stern voice, "Tell me her room number."

"She’s staying in room 1003," said director Lane.

Stuart hung up the phone, picked up his car keys, and left without any hesitation.

Jason asked, "Where are you going, brother?"

"To the Villa, I need to find someone."

When Todd heard the word "Villa," he looked back and asked. "Isn’t that where the cast is staying?"

"Yes."

Todd, looked like he had just made a decision, he stood up and bumped into Fifi with his shoulder. He didn’t even look at her.

"I am going with you."

Stuart actually knew why he was going, and he looked at him and said yes. Jason quickly jumped off the sofa and said, "What are you two doing? Taking off in the middle of the night and not taking me? What’s going on, what’s the secret?"

"Jason," Stuart said, he looked at Jason with a rare degree of seriousness in his cold eyes. It was the look on his face when he was talking about a multi-billion dollar investment, "Wait here at the chateau and be ready if you get a call from me."

Jason was a little frightened, and he had never seen Stuart act like this before, he wondered what was going on. Stuart got into his sports car, and the engine roared in the dark. Todd also wondered why he was acting so nervous. He knew something was going on with one of the actresses and Stuart and even suspected that this woman might be his "sister-in-law."

Stuart’s cold eyes looked straight ahead, he stepped on the throttle, gripped the steering wheel, and turned. "I have a bad, bad feeling." He didn’t know what, all he knew was that Edie’s phone was off and it was never turned off.

The closer he got to the Villa, the more his anxiety increased. He was afraid that something terrible had happened to Edie. He wanted to get there as fast as he could to confirm her safety.

Todd, "You mean? Just like when that happened ten years ago." Todd and Stuart grew up together; they both knew what happened ten years ago. As Todd looked at Stuart, he could see the lines of worry in his face.

"No, it was just an accident. All these years have gone by, and you are not the same person you were ten years ago."

He knew too well how hard it hit Stuart, and if it happens again, the consequences would be devastating.

"No, I am not the same person I was ten years ago."

Stuart’s eyes grew cold. "If anyone touches her, they will pay." His voice was filled with bitter anger with no trace of emotion.
