Chapter 714: Chapter 714: Julia’s Anger
It was a slim woman. She wore lots of coats. It seemed that she was so scared of coldness. Her wrists exposed out were covered with cruises. Someone must keep abusing her. Edie thought.
There were lots of seats in the church. But she chose to sit next to Edie. Edie felt confused.
She turned towards her, seeing her face.
Her face was disfigured.
Edie saw a scar on her face, from her left on her forehead, through her nose, to her right face. Her long hair on her forehead covered half of her face. Besides, she wore a face mask. Therefore, Edie could not see her face.
The wound must be so deep. Otherwise, there would be such a severe scar,
With such a scary scar on her face, this woman looked so frightening.
Besides, Edie had a strange feeling. The woman looked so familiar for her as if she had seen her before. But Edie couldn’t remember where she had met this woman.
Then, Edie suddenly realized why this woman sat asides her.
She touched her face, a part next to her jaw. She could feel a finger-size scar. It is recovering. Though, it looked quite stark on the face.
Stuart employed the best team of doctors to do laser therapy for her. Those doctors told her that there would be any scar after the wound was totally recovered.
"Hi."
The woman greeted Edie voluntarily in a small voice. She sounded so weak.
"Hi," Edie nodded and replied to her.
"Miss, I see the ring on your finger. Have you gotten married?"
"Yes."
"Why the scar on your face...I know my question sounds rude..." she looked anxious and nervous in her eyes. Edie knew she was worried that she might get mad at her.
On the contrary, Edie smiled and said, "That’s all right. I got this one month ago. What’s up? What do you want to ask me?" ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
"Then...could you tell me what your husband said about this? Frankly speaking, when I was disfigured, my husband never threw an eye on me again. So, when I see the scar on your face, I couldn’t help myself coming to ask you..."She said in a trembling voice,
When hearing this question, Edie froze. She didn’t know how to answer her.
If she told her that her husband was still so nice to her, she might irritate this woman.
But she didn’t want to lie to anyone.
Finally, she said in a calm voice, "my husband is still nice to me, as before."
"Wow...so lucky of you. Actually, I saw you two days ago, on the square, when you enjoyed your food. I didn’t expect we would meet with each other here. Your husband must be that tall, handsome man, right? I can tell he is so gentle to you. Apparently, he loves you deeply."
"Yes, he left just now. He is quite busy."
"I thought a man like him would always wear a suit. But he dressed so casually these days. I thought those businessmen should all wear suits...." She murmured and asked Edie, "You have kids now, right? You look old enough, about 25 years old or so, right?"
She got more and more excited. She asked Edie so much that Edie became alerted.
After all, this woman was nothing more than a stranger that she just met several minutes ago.
Edie hesitated for a while and answered the woman, "Yes. I have a daughter. Excuse me, I have something to deal with later. I should leave now."
When Edie stood up, Ivan immediately followed her,
When seeing Ivan, the disfigured woman lowered her head immediately. It seemed that she was really afraid of looking at other men. She immediately covered her whole face.
Then, she couldn’t help herself trembling and cuddling herself up in the corner. If her clothes were dirty, everyone would believe she was a pauper.
"Mrs. Yates, who is she?"
Ivan asked Edie confusingly.
"A woman is coming to pray. We need to go now."
Edie turned around to throw an eye on the trembling woman and then left with Ivan.
When Edie walked to the door with Ivan, the disfigured woman finally turned towards them. Her eyes looked so gentle as soft, like pure water.
She took off her face mask slowly, showing the other half of her face.
There was more than one scar on her face. Apart from the lone scar, she had several short small scars on the face.
She wanted to remind Edie to be more careful. Don’t be alone. But before she said those words out, Edie had been freaked out.
All those things have passed. But she still couldn’t let that go. She talked too much. No wonder Edie would feel scared.
She smiled bitterly for a moment and then calmed herself down.
She didn’t cover her face. She just faced those strange eyes in front of her. She didn’t feel mean for her disfigured face.
She was proud. Her pride was carved deeply in her bone.
After walking out of the church, she saw a car parking at the door.
She was dragged into the car rudely.
It was an extended Bentley. It can accommodate seven or eight people.
A woman sat at the center, with strong guards standing one her two sides. The disfigured woman was dragged onto the car by those guards. Then, she was pressed down on the floor and forced to kneel down. Even the carpet on the car was soft, and the woman still felt so painful on her knees.
She was so skinny. When the bone on her knee was hit on the floor, she felt so painful.
But she didn’t cry out. After frowning for a while, she recovered from being peaceful. Then she looked towards Julia indifferently.
Julia held a glass of red wine in her hands and shook it slightly, enjoying the drop on win falling down from the glass wall, forming a red track.
Looking at the wine, she asked, "Got the answer?"
"I don’t even know her. How can I get the answer?" she insisted on her answer.
Hearing this answer, Julia’s face changed immediately.
She moved her eyes from the glass of red wine to the disfigured woman and squinted. Deep in her eyes were extreme evilness and cruelty.
"Say it again."
"I don’t know the couple you told me. I know nothing about them. So I couldn’t ask your question to them." the woman answered word by word clearly without any fear.
Hearing these words, Julia was raged. She directly threw the glass to her face.
The red wine poured out, pouring on her face. The glass hit her head and slipped on the floor. But it wasn’t broken into pieces.
The woman got wet by the red wine. Now she looked so embarrassed.
But she didn’t move a little bit. She neither fought against not obeyed the woman as if she knew it was impossible for Julia to kill her.
Therefore, the woman was scared of nothing.
Julia stared at her face. The woman in front of her looked so obedient and soft, like an obedient puppet. But she never expected that she was such a stubborn girl.
No matter how Julia tortured her, she always said she didn’t know Stuart.
She dared to tell her that she didn’t know Stuart.
"Do you really think I wouldn’t kill you? Stuart already had Edie now. Now you are nothing for me. You are nothing more than useless rubbish for me."
The woman was still in silence as if she heard nothing.
Julia gnashed the teeth in anger and jumped down from her seat. Then she rushed to her and pinched the woman’s jaw tightly to force her to raise her head.
