Chapter 624: Chapter 624: She Doubted It

"Since Miss Lara needed to take rest, we couldn’t bother you. Let’s leave now."

As Kenley ordered, all those guards taking guns walked out. All of a sudden, the bathroom became empty.

Edie walked with Kenley. But when they walked to the door, Kenley stopped suddenly.

Seeing this, Edie got more nervous. But she remained calm on the face and then said in an indifferent voice, "Mr. Kenley, what happened?"

"Nothing. Please, Miss Lara," he said casually.

But his words sounded really heavy for Edie.

Had he conceive something? Did he ask her to leave so he could fight against Norman in this house?

Edie was not quite sure. So she had no choice but to leave. freёwebnoѵel.com

Every step was really hard for Edie. When she walked out of the door, she suddenly heard the sound of the dagger cutting something.

She turned around in shock. Kenley inserted the dagger through the shower curtain.

All basins on the shelf behind fell down. Those backup towels and body wash were scattered everywhere.

The dagger was also mixed among those things.

But he couldn’t see a drop of blood on it.

Seeing this, Edie had the heart to her mouth. But she still forced herself to be calm and smile, "You don’t trust me, do you? If you don’t trust me, just go on. You don’t need to do this behind me. It is totally okay with me."

"Pick it up," Kenley asked his men. And then he apologized to Edie, "Sorry, Miss Lara. This man might kill Mr. William. I have to remove all risk. Please forgive my rudeness. The doctor would come to dress the wound. I should leave now."

"Okay."

Edie said word by word.

After Kenley took his men far away, Edie returned back to the bathroom. She drew back the curtain, seeing Norman slipping down slowly and painfully.

The dagger indeed was inserted into his body. But, thanks to his quick reflection, he took the dagger out and wiped it clean before throwing it out.

It took him less than three seconds.

Those wounds caused by the gun and dagger looked so terrible, though they wouldn’t kill him immediately.

Cold sweat kept oozing out from his forehead. His mask got wet.

"How do you feel?" Edie asked him nervously.

"I wouldn’t die," Norman bit his teeth to control his pain and said.

He was trained to be a soldier at an early age. After entering into adolescence, he seldom went back home. He’s been injured so many times. This was nothing for him.

So he could hold on. He needed to leave immediately. If he stayed here for a few more minutes, he might no longer be able to leave.

"Thank you for what you’ve done for me. I really appreciate it. I would repay you. I never owe anybody anything. I don’t like it."

He stood up. His body still looked straight and strong.

At that moment, someone knocked again. The knocking sounded like the bell from hell. Edie’s heart was trembling.

Norman also got slightly nervous. His eyes also got weird. Deep in their eyes was a cold light.

He held the dagger and gun tightly in his hands to prepare for something unexpected.

Edie got more nervous. She thought it was Kenley, "Who is it?"

This question almost used up all her energy.

Who was it?

"Doctor Morey. Kenley asked me to come here." a strange man answered.

Hearing the answer, Edie took a relief. When she turned around to tell Norman, she didn’t see anyone behind. Norman already left.

He already escaped from the window in several seconds when she talked to the doctor.

Edie looked out of the window. The night was as dark as the ink. And the man was already immersed in it.

How scary was it?

She had no time to shock. She cleaned the blood on the floor and wore a coat on. Then she walked out of the house.

That was all she could do whether he could be alive or not depended on himself now.

Beside...

Did he really just come to visit Cecil? She doubted it.

But she had not time to think about this question. When she opened the door, she saw a middle-aged doctor.

He checked the wound for Edie and then applied for medicine on the wound.

After Morey finished, William arrived at the house, with Kenley and Julia. Apparently, they’ve heard what happened here. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

Seeing Edie, Julia was irritated immediately. She pointed at her nose and shouted out, "It must be her. We’ve checked all the rooms. Her room is the last one. If it is not her, who else it could be?"

Seeing these people, Edie was not afraid at all. No matter what they said or believed, Norman already left. They could find no evidence here. William couldn’t make any trouble for her.

Edie’s been living here for several days. Though he didn’t allow her to go anywhere else, he was so polite to her. He kept explaining to her that he did this because of Stuart. Whether he was honest or not, whether he was her friend or enemy, he wouldn’t hurt her because he still needed to use her.

Edie threw an eye on them and said, "Why do you come here so late? It is my bedtime. If you have anything to tell me, please come here tomorrow. Thank you."

"Don’t use this attitude. You’ve let our enemy escape away. Don’t you dare to talk to me like this? Otherwise, I would teach you a lesson today."

Julia took the whip out angrily. Then she beat the ground hard. The sound of the whip beating on the ground was so loud.

Then the whip flew towards Edie’s face. William stood aside, watching all these happen. As the whip was about to beat on her face, Kenley stood out.

He took his dagger out and shot the dagger to the whip. The whip changed the orbit and beat on Edie’s arms.

Such pain.

Edie bit her teeth to keep silent.

Julia got angrier. She wanted to beat her again. But William stopped her.

"Julia, you’ve been so rude. She is Mr. Yates’ wife. How could you be so rude to our guest?"

"Wife? She almost kills Stuart." Julia said madly.

Hearing these words, William showed a mysterious smile. He said to Kenley, "Doctor Morey hadn’t been far away. Get him back."

Edie was a smart girl. She immediately understood William’s meaning. Apparently, he was warning her. Though he stopped Julia, he still threatened her in a more useful way.

So, he has already known that it was she that saved Norman. So he wanted to punish her slightly.

However...

What did Julia mean? Norman was Stuart and William’s enemy. She almost killed Stuart...

What did she mean? Was there any resentment between them and Norman?
