Chapter 512: Chapter 512: No More Naive Behavior

On the first day, she decided to return to her old flat and she saw it was dirty. She didn’t have it cleaned, but before she could clean the flat, she was sent to the hospital.

Now that she got better, she decided to move to their old house where she and Stuart lived.

Everything remained the same. Even the servants also called her "Mrs. Yates." She liked this as if Stuart still stayed with her.

She had lots of time now. Sometimes she read the book, and sometimes she studied cooking, trying to make some yummy food for the baby.

"Mrs. Yates, the CEO’s in Italy now. He would return to France after half of a month,"

"Are you sure he’s safe?" She asked Ivan.

"Yes. I am sure."

When Ivan reported Stuart’s condition to her, she asked Ivan the same questions.

Looking at Ivan’s eyes, Edie believed this answer was not a lie.

She didn’t return back to England, because Ivan didn’t allow it. He asked her to stay at the house and take care of her baby. She didn’t have to suffer from the long-time flight. Stuart would come to her sooner or later.

Edie knew Ivan did this on purpose. But she said nothing because she doesn’t want to upset him. She wished she could spend her life in this house with Stuart.

Stuart had escaped from the crisis. She didn’t need to worry about anything else. All she needed to do now was to be happy.

She hangs lots of pictures of beautiful babies on the wall because others told her that this could help her bear the most beautiful baby.

This morning, Edie got up, stretched her body, and prepared to buy some food.

"Mrs. Yates, it’s still a long time before the baby’s born. You don’t have to learn this now." She heard Ivan’s advice.

"I want to cook for Stuart. I haven’t cooked for him since we got married. I almost forgot how to cook. When he comes back, I would love to serve him," A pleasant smile makes its way from her lips while uttering her words.

She selected materials carefully and rubbed her belly smoothly.

After getting pregnant, she looked more gentle.

Ivan standing behind her, looked sad. Several times, he wanted to tell her what happened. But he still held all words back.

Finally, he only said, "Madam, would you mind conducting a physical examination tomorrow. If the doctor said you could handle a long-trip flight, we could go back to England."

Edie was shocked. She looked towards Ivan in astonishment.

It looked like a big decision for Ivan.

"Really?" She wanted to be sure if she heard it correctly.

"Yes." Ivan nodded.

"Great. I’ve got everything. Let’s go home."

They walked out. When Ivan went to the parking lot, Edie was waiting at the door. Before Ivan showed up, Donald appeared in front of her.

He looked exhausted, and thinner, with a mustache at the corner of the mouth.

"Donald?" she was a little surprised, seeing him suddenly. Meanwhile, she felt sad for him.

Donald looked surprised. He walked to her.

"When did you come back?" he saw vegetables and beef in her hands, "I don’t remember you can or like cooking."

"I am different now. What are you doing here?"

"Do you have a minute? I want to talk to you." Donald said.

Edie looked towards Ivan in the car parking beside the road, and said, "Wait for a moment. I should tell Ivan."

After telling Ivan, Edie walked into a coffee house with Donald.

"I know you’ve come back when your grandpa passed away. But Hawk was a mess. I didn’t make time to visit you. How are you? Did Stuart come here with you?

"No. He was busy with something else. But I can see him soon. I will leave for England tomorrow."

"Great. I didn’t make time to visit you, so I asked Karen to visit you. He went to the hospital. Are....are you pregnant?" Donald stammered his dry and thin lip.

Edie nodded and smiled, "Yes, five weeks."

Tomorrow, she would visit Stuart, the man she loved the most. She could finally tell him the news. Would he be thrilled with joy? How would he react? She was looking forward to it.

Donald could see the happiness on Edie’s face.

He was relieved.

Edie suddenly remembered something. She raised her eyes, "Do you men like girl or boy? Though Stuart wanted a girl, I thought he’s lying. He prefers a boy, right?"

"No, he would love all, as long as he loves their mother."

"Really. That’s great. When would you have a baby? You can discuss it with me. I can provide suggestions," She said happily.

Her smile looked gorgeous, like flowers in Summer.

Though the smile is not for him, Donald was satisfied.

"She was not here. So she could talk to you now."

"That’s all right. We have lots of chances to talk. Stuart hasn’t known I am pregnant. I couldn’t imagine how he would react when I told him. Happy? Surprised? I think he must be surprised. We often went to the hospital to check whether I get pregnant. I never expect this. I think he must be as surprised as me."

"Perhaps, happy and surprised. Edie, you should be happy."

"I will." Edie smiled.

They talked a lot. Edie was really happy today. Perhaps she was looking forward to seeing Stuart tomorrow. That made her feel great.

Donald wanted to see her off tomorrow. Edie agreed. This was the last present for her.

This afternoon, Edie did an all-round physical examination. Though she was so thin for pregnancy, she was good after being taken care of in these days,

Edie felt relieved. She could finally go back to England.

After getting the ticket, she was waiting in the hall. Ivan bought a bottle of water for her.

"You should take care of yourself after arriving in England. You’ve been a mother—no more naive behavior. If you feel bad, the baby would also suffer. Eat carefully and sleep tight...."
