Chapter 328: Chapter 328: You Can Always Trust Me

After a silence of several minutes, Stuart came towards Edie in an agitated manner. He was left feeling not only hurt and angry but also worried. "Right from the beginning, I never wanted you to become an actress. I was never prejudiced towards the job. It was always about the amount of time we were separated whenever you had a film. I also see how tired you get, and to me, it’s ineffective.

"But Stuart.," Edie said abruptly.

"Let me finish," Stuart said in the cold, but a yet caring voice. "I agreed to let you do this because I saw how much it made you happy. Now that you’ve fainted and gone to the extremes of hiding it from me." Stuart hesitated. "I don’t know if I can trust you anymore. I can’t give you everything you want because I can’t stand seeing you hurt yourself."

"Stuart, please understand! I didn’t faint because of my work." Edie quickly walked over and sat beside Stuart. She put her hand in his, but Stuart still had that usual cold look in his eyes.

"I’m speaking from my heart, and I’m going to tell you the truth. I...I had my period, and I wasn’t feeling well. That was why I fainted. It wasn’t because I was working too hard. I was too embarrassed to say anything to anyone. The only who knew was Rhonda, my assistant," Edie explained.

Stuart immediately hugged Edie and pulled her closer. He checked her thoroughly to ensure she wasn’t hurting anywhere else. With a serious look on his face, he asked, "So it must have hurt really bad? Are you still hurting, and do you want me to take you to the hospital?"

Edie thought Stuart was adorable for caring about her so much. "I’m fine now! It’s not hurting anymore," she said, trying to reassure him.

"Who is the director of this film, and why didn’t he let you rest when you weren’t feeling well? I would like to have a word with him," Stuart said, his face twisted in anger.

"It has nothing to do with the director. It was my own doing!" she quickly explained. "I didn’t tell him because I was embarrassed. If I had told him, the whole crew would have known. Do you understand?"

Edie winced at her thoughts, ’How in heaven’s name am I going to make sense out of something she still couldn’t believe herself. I have to tell Stuart about Clyde.’ Stuart stood up and picked Edie up and started for the stairs. Edie gasped. "Stuart, what are you doing?" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Stuart took Edie to the top of the stairs and stopped. "If you’re not feeling well, You need your rest!" Right before he entered the bedroom, he shouted out to Carol, "Could you bring me some Midol and a glass of water?"

Stuart gently placed Edie on the bed and pulled the covers up and tucked her in as if she were a child. Edie thought it was a little funny the way he was doting over her. "Stuart, it’s only a period," she said and laughed.

Stuart squinted his eyes at her, "I don’t want you to go to work for a few days. I want you to get lots of rest during your home. Okay?" Edie replied with a nod.

"It’s okay for me to go back after I’m feeling better?" She looked up at him, her beautiful eyes wide and serious.

"You like acting that much?" Stuart asked.

Edie shook her head. "I think everyone has a purpose in their life. For me, it’s acting, and for you, it’s the L. N. Group. I may not be famous, but I still have fans. I just can’t imagine not acting," Edie explained.

Edie was firm with Stuart but had a solemn expression. This was something that rarely appeared on her face. There was no way Stuart could refuse her. He looked at the ceiling, he looked past Edie at the opposite wall, he looked at the floor, but finally, he came back to Edie. "Who is Clyde Jackson?" he asked.

"Clyde Jackson!" Edie said. She was obviously agitated and becoming more and more flustered under Stuart’s close scrutiny. She leaned back against the bed and put a hand to her heart, forcing herself to be calm. "He’s working on the film with me. We were working on a scene when I fainted."

They looked at each other without saying a word. ’Oh, God! I don’t want to lie to Stuart, but how can I tell him the truth when I don’t even know what it is myself. I’m so confused.’ Edie tried to ignore the dreams and thoughts, but they just wouldn’t go away.

"Okay! I want you to get some rest. I’m sending it to Julian in the morning. I want him to look you over and make sure you’re in good health." Stuart informed her.

Edie let out a sigh of relief. ’Stuart was looking forward to my homecoming and looking at what happened.’ She was being eaten up by guilt.

The next day Julian came over and checked Edie all over. He assured Stuart there was nothing seriously wrong with Edie, putting Stuart’s mind at ease. The two of them spent the whole day with Old Greg. Later on in the evening, Edie got a call from Queenie, "Edie, The White Love Song is premiering tonight. I didn’t know if you remembered or not?" There was so much excitement in her voice.

"Thanks for calling! And yes, I did remember." There were a few seconds of silence. Edie hesitated. "Queenie..."

Queenie noticed by the tone of her voice there was something wrong. "Edie, what’s wrong?" she asked.

"I...I’ve had some negative reviews recently. The fans are threatening to boycott my new TV series, and I was wondering if it will affect the ratings of The White Love Song?" Edie was shaking because she was so nervous.

Clyde’s fans put a hashtag on Twitter and called it to boycott the white love song. His fans despised her. They all wanted Edie to pay the price, and it didn’t matter how they did it. All Edie was worried about was the ratings of the TV series.

Queenie laughed. "Do you know what they gave me for a nickname when I first started acting?"

Edie shook her head and replied, "No!"

"Story villas Best Actress," Queenie said.

"Isn’t that the most well known red-light district in the city?" Edie asked.

"Yes, I was only eighteen when I started acting, and maybe it was because I became famous at such a young age. Who knows? Everyone was jealous of me, and I was also very arrogant back then. I think I may have offended some people. So every time my film aired, people would boycott it." Queenie explained.

Edie immediately understood what Queenie was trying to tell her. "But, you never quit, and you’re still acting?"

"Yes, so I want you to do the same. Don’t listen to what other people say about you. Do your best and face everything head-on!" Queenie explained. "Now it’s the incident with Clyde, and next time it’ll be something else. Climbing the ladder is hard, but you’ll get there as long as you stay strong. The White Love Song is good, so have confidence in yourself. Even if you don’t trust yourself, you can always trust me."
