Chapter 302: Chapter 302: Real Him

"Just step aside and leave me alone. I can do it myself," Stuart said, with the tone of annoyance in his voice.

Mr. Sampson immediately stopped talking and stepped aside. Stuart got very angry and upset and sighed heavily at the end of every sentence.

Edie could see how tired he looked. He was trying so hard to get everything perfect for her, but all of his efforts had failed. "I can’t seem to do anything right this morning," Stuart grumbled. "I poured too much wine. Overcooked the steak. What next?" He frowned, his brows drawing together. Stuart stepped back and looked at the food. Then he grabbed the steak and threw it into the trash can. "Mr. Sampson, get me another steak," he demanded.

Mr. Sampson glanced at Stuart with uncertainty and not knowing if he should speak. "Mr. Yates, there was a total of eighteen steaks in the freezer, and all they are now in the trash can beside you," he hesitantly said.

"What do we have this morning for breakfast?" Edie asked as she walked slowly into the kitchen.

Hearing her voice, Stuart suddenly became totally stiff. "What are you doing up so early?" Stuart asked as he turned around. He took off the apron and threw it at Mr. Sampson. "What would you like for breakfast?" He said, trying to change the topic.

Edie walked around the kitchen and saw it was an absolute mess. The trash can was full of food. The floors and counters were covered with pots and pans, flour, sugar, and other spices and food. "Why is all this food in here?" Edie turned and looked at Stuart. "Did you do this?" Edie asked.

"No, of course not....You know I’m not the greatest at cooking," Stuart tried to deny it.

Mr. Sampson stood squirming, he couldn’t take it anymore, "It’s...um...my fault," he said.

Edie raised her hand and pointed to the food. "Look at the food in there. It’s such a waste," she sounded discouraged.

Stuart was caught off guard and said, "Mr. Sampson wanted to teach me how to cook this new recipe that he found. I thought he knew what he was doing, and I stood back and watched. I never expected it would turn out like this!" Stuart lied, not wanting Edie to know how all of the efforts had failed. He turned and said to Mr. Sampson with a look of disgust on his face. "Mr. Sampson, look at this mess you made in the kitchen. This needs to be cleaned up!"

"But Mr. Yates...." Mr. Sampson said in a pitiful voice." He knew how embarrassed Stuart was therefore he agreed. "I’m sorry, Mr. Yates! I’ll get someone to clean this up right now!"

"Well...hurry up!" Stuart ordered. Mr. Sampson nodded and quickly left the kitchen.

"Mr. Sampson is a very kind man. You need to go easier on him. He was only trying to help!" Edie pleaded. "I don’t need a big breakfast. Something simple would be just fine," Edie said.

Stuart nodded in agreement. "I will let Mr. Sampson know for the next time when he decides to cook breakfast for us," Stuart said in a calm tone.

Carol came into the kitchen and quickly cleaned up the mess and made breakfast for them. While they were Edie, Edie said to Stuart, "The Song of the Dynasty is starting soon. I will be going back to work next week!" Edie sounded excited. "It’s an ancient drama, and I need to stay on set because it’s on the outskirts of the city. It’s a three-hour drive from here!" There was a touch of sadness in her voice because this meant they would not be seeing each other for a while

Frowning, Stuart looked closely into Edie’s eye. "Why does it need to be so far away? Do you really need to stay on the set?" Stuart said with the sound of disappointment in his voice.

It had been a while since the two of them had been apart, and Edie knew that Stuart was upset. She tried to comfort him. "Yes, the directors requested that all of the cast stay on base. I don’t have many scenes, so I should be home in about a month," she said, trying to reassure him. "I will come home when I have a day off, and you come to see whenever you want. You can’t....be seen by the crew or any of the reporters, though!" Edie said hesitantly.

Start sat silently at the table, eating his breakfast. He was thinking of how he could resolve the issue of the distance between them. ’I will get Ivan to look into buying a piece of land in the city. A piece of land that is closer to the set.’

Back at the hospital, Hick’s was feeling much better. She was sitting on the bed watching the entertainment news when she heard a familiar voice coming from outside the door. It was from Anna. "Miss. Joyce! Hicks doesn’t feel up to having any visitors today," said Hicks’ assistant.

Anna didn’t listen to her. She walked past her and opened the door. Hicks’ assistant was embarrassed and apologized, "I’m sorry! I tried to tell her!"

A very calm expression came over Hicks’s face. She said to her assistant, "It’s okay! You may go. There’s something I need to talk to Miss. Anna about."

Hicks’ assistant nodded and left the room. Anna looked at Hicks with her eyebrows raised. There was a suspicious look in her eyes. Raising her hand to her chest level, Anna said, "You want to talk to me! I feel relieved because I need to talk to you too!"

Hicks nodded and said, "Okay! You can go first."

"Well, first of all. I’m going to be straightforward and direct with you." Anna took a deep breath and continued. "I will not be working for the L. N. Group anymore because I’m going home. I thought you should know. I have been the one who has been looking out for you, and I’m a little worried about who will take care of you when I’m gone."

"I see...." said Hicks. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"I love my job as the project manager, and I’ve very much enjoyed our time that we’ve spent together, but I’m needed back home," Anna said, trying to smile.

"Isn’t the only reason why you came here in the first place was for Stuart? It has nothing to do with me! Maybe you’re leaving now because you finally realize you can no longer control me." There was so much sarcasm in Hicks’ voice.

Anna was shocked and didn’t know what to say. When Anna first meant Hicks, she was so obedient, and now she was so disrespectful towards her. Anna turned her face away, knowing she couldn’t hide her expression.

"You always seemed to be so shy and almost awkward around me. I never expected all things for you to be so arrogant." Anna looked at Hicks, feeling confused. "Is this the real you, or are you upset because I’m leaving?"
