Chapter 281: Chapter 281: Have A Baby

Finally, the day arrived, and they could go home. Edie’s first thought was that she would go on with her day-to-day routine. Unexpectedly, Stuart had different intentions. He noticed how thin and fragile she looked and insisted on Edie putting on some weight. Stuart told Edie that she could only go back to work if she agreed to his terms. Hearing Edie complains, Stuart raised his eyebrow and said, "Then you don’t have to be an actress, I can support you."

Edie stopped talking at once and obeyed his words and stayed home for a few more days. Stuart even called Danny to cancel Edie’s job for the next few days. Danny was flattered that Stuart had taken the time to call him. Then he immediately canceled Edie’s schedule.

During Edie’s recuperation, Stuart decided to work from home every twenty minutes, and he was checking to make sure she was feeling okay. His video conferences were always brief, so the staff had to talk fast and express clearly.

His concern for her was so intense that Edie was a little overwhelmed. Edie needed someone to talk to, and she called Scarlet to complain about Stuart’s behavior. Scarlet tried to explain to her and said, "You have to keep him busy that way, his attention won’t be focused all on you."

Edie forced a smile on her face and said, "He’s the CEO of the L.N. Group. Do you really think he is not busy enough?"

"Not that kind of busy, you need to have a baby! If he has a child to take care of, he won’t have the time to restrict you!" Scarlet said in a solemn voice.

"Have a baby?" Edie said, then the phone went silent. The more Edie thought about it, the more she thought it was a good idea.

After showering that night, Edie changed into her sexiest nightgown. She walked out of the bathroom and saw Stuart still working on his laptop. Edie sat beside him and asked, "Are you still working?"

Stuart said gently without looking at her, "Almost done. If you’re tired, just go to bed and wait for me."

Stuart hadn’t had sex with her ever since she fainted, comparing to what he was like before, Edie was starting to doubt her charm. She didn’t want to go to bed and said, "It doesn’t matter. I’m not tired, and I will wait for you."

Stuart saw through her mind immediately; he looked at Edie and closed the laptop and said, "We can go to bed now."

Edie was a little startled and looked at him with surprise and said, "I thought you still have work to do."

"No rush, I can finish it tomorrow," Stuart said calmly.

Then, Stuart gently lifted Edie up. Edie’s nightgown was thin, her shoulder strap slipped down, revealing her smooth and pale skin. Stuart’s eyes turned deep all of a sudden. Yet he only put Edie on the bed and kissed her forehead and said, "I’m going to take a shower now."

Edie thought for a moment and had a puzzled look on her face, then she muttered, "I don’t believe it, he hasn’t even touched me! Do I not look seducing enough?"

To stop Stuart from leaving, she put her arms around his neck and said in a seductive voice, "Wait, I have to tell you something."

Stuart raised his eyebrows, sat on the bed, and asked, "Yes?"

"Um... it’s..." Edie stuttered as she was feeling a little nervous. Seeing her stumbling over her words, Stuart was amused, and he looked at her with interest and said again, "Yes?"

Edie took a deep breath and said, "Do you want to have a baby?"
