Chapter 242: Chapter 242: Not Safe
There was something about Scarlet, Jason found intriguing and refreshing. He leaned forward and kissed her, and to his surprise, she kissed him back. Suddenly he grabbed her in his arms. He kissed her so hard that she let out a scream. She pushed him away with all her strength. "What do you think you’re doing?" she asked with a fluster.
"I...." Jason started to say, and then his phone rang. He raised his hand in the air motioning for her to be quiet. He looked at his phone, and the expression on his face changed. "Hello," he answered with a serious tone in his voice.
Scarlet sat on the bed, touching her lips. "He just kissed me! He’s a pimp! Is he still working? Should I give him more money?" she mumbled. She had no idea what to do. She had never slept with a pimp before.
"I’ll be right there," Jason said in a low tone. Then he hung up the phone and looked at Scarlet. "There’s something I have to do. I want you to wait for me. I’ll have room service to deliver you some food."
"What’s wrong with you?" Scarlet shouted. "You bring me here, and now you won’t let me go! Why would I want to wait for you? I’m leaving," she said, her voice growing louder with each word.
"Don’t even think about it. Do you know how hard it was for me to find you? I don’t want you to leave until I explain what happened." Jason was facing her and was pointing his finger at her as he emphasized the last part of his sentence. Then he patted Scarlet on the top of her head as he went to the bathroom to get dressed.
Scarlet glared at his back, frustrated. "Don’t blame me if something happens to your room," she shouted.
As Jason walked out of the bathroom, he heard a loud noise coming from the living room. Scarlet was trashing the room and throwing everything she could get her hands on. He looked at her and smiled. "Do you feel better now?" he asked.
Scarlet refused to look at him. The way he looked at her only infuriated her even more. She put her hands on her hips and lifted her head slightly. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. The fight or flight response had kicked in, and it was telling her to run. Instead, she forced herself to stay where she was and get herself under control. Then she took her hand from her hip, pointing her finger at him. "If you know what’s good for you, you’ll let me go," she said angrily.
The look of concentration on her face made Jason’s smile even bigger. "What a brave woman," he said. "I think I might actually like you."
"Like me! You don’t even know me!" she said as she threw a vase on the floor. "Did you not hear a word I said. Let me go!"
Jason nodded his head. "This has been quite an experience," he said, smiling. "Do what you need to do, but you’re not leaving. I will not take too long."
Scarlet glared up at him, her dark eyes flashing. "Who the hell do you think you are ordering me to stay here? Why are you making me stay here? I don’t even know who you are," she asked him question after question.
Jason suddenly stopped and stared at Scarlet with questioning eyes. "I’m Jason. Don’t you remember? We slept together! Sound familiar?"
Scarlet could feel her face getting hot. She hated the fact that she blushed, as she felt it was a glaring sign of her embarrassment for all to see. She lowered her eyes to the floor. Right at that moment, Jason left and locked the door behind him.
She quickly ran over to the door. She pulled on the handle frantically, but although the knob turned, no amount of pulling would open the door. She began banging it loudly with both fists, then kicking it with her feet. "Let me out!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. It was no use, and there was no one there. She tried one more time. "Someone help me!" Then he ran to the single window at the opposite of the room and looked out. The distance to the street was intimidating. She was on the eighteenth floor. "What am I going to do?" she said with a worried tone in her voice. "He’s a pimp! Why would he do this to me?"
She reached into her purse to find her phone. "Damn it! I have no battery left!" Scarlet gritted her teeth in anger. She went over to the phone beside the bed and stared at it for a moment. She was so upset, and she couldn’t remember Eddie’s number. "Calm down and think," she told herself. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
After taking several deep breaths, Scarlet remembered her number. "If anyone can help me, Eddie can. Stuart will make this guy pay for what he’s done to me."
She dialed Eddie’s number, and as soon as Eddie picked up, Scarlet was crying hysterically. Eddie couldn’t make out what she was saying. "Scarlet, is that you? What’s wrong?" she asked, sounding worried. Eddie was driving when Scarlet called. The instant she heard her voice, she pulled over to the side of the road.
Scarlet was barely able to get the words out of her mouth because she was completely out of breath. "Help...me!"
Eddie listened to her frantic voice and tried to remain calm. "Take a deep breath and tell me what happened."
"Some pervert locked me in a hotel room and told me not to leave. I’ve been kidnapped, and I need you to help me get out of here," Scarlet said as she looked around the room.
Eddie became very nervous and lowered her voice. "You’ve been kidnapped? Do you know where you are?" She took a deep breath and continued, "Do you know who did this to you?"
Scarlet had to think fast; she didn’t want Eddie to know she slept with a pimp. "I don’t know who he is, but he won’t let me go. He locked the door from the outside. Please help me!" she pleaded.
"Do you know where you are?" Eddie asked again.
"Yes," Scarlet cried.
"Give me the address. I’ll be there as soon as I can." Eddie said.
Scarlet gave Eddie the address and then said, "Don’t forget to bring a locksmith with you. The door is locked from the outside," she reminded Eddie.
Eddie hit the end button on her phone and made a call. Then she drove to the hotel as fast as she could. When she arrived at the hotel, Mr. Jones, the locksmith, was waiting for her in front of the building. "She’s on the eighteenth floor, room 1222," Eddie said.
Eddie stood outside the door, nervously waiting while he unlocked the door. She was terrified and thought Scarlet had been beaten or worse. He opened the door and held it as Eddie rushed through. Scarlet was lying on the bed looking at a magazine. Calm and relaxed. Eddie looked at her curiously and asked, "What are you doing?"
Scarlet quickly jumped off the bed and hugged Eddie. "Thank God! You saved me," she said.
Eddie tilted her head, offering her a quizzical look. "Something doesn’t seem right. What’s going on?" she asked suspiciously.
Scarlet took Eddie by the arm and walked toward the door. "We can’t talk here. It’s not safe. Let’s go," she said with a nervous tone in her voice.
