Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Controversy
Stuart’s aura was so oppressive that Eddie couldn’t stop her heart from racing, but she tried to remain calm.
"It looks like you and Anna have something to do, so I won’t intrude. Come on, Gould, let’s go."
Eddie removed her eyes from Stuart and looked at Gould. Gould didn’t exactly know what was going on, but he was Eddie’s assistant, and Gould had to listen to what she said, "Okay."
Then they got ready to leave, but by this point, Stuart was filled with rage, and he suddenly reached out and grabbed Eddie’s arm and pulled her straight off Gould’s back. She was forced on the floor again, and her ankle was now in excruciating pain. ƒreewebɳovel.com
She was almost ready to shout out at Stuart’s because of his behavior, but the thought of Stuart and Anna showing up here together made her stop. Eddie blinked back tears and tried to swallow a lump in her throat. She felt the rage tearing at her lungs, plucking at her nerves until she wanted to scream. But she remained silent and didn’t say a word.
At the sight of Eddie’s grimace on her face, a look of concern flashed through Stuart’s eyes. Then he thought about the strange man who had his hands on her, and Stuart swallowed the words of concern.
Just then, a middle-aged man walked up the corridor and saw Stuart. The man quickened his pace and politely smiled at him and said, "Master Yates, I was just on my way down to meet you. I apologize, I didn’t know that you were here."
"We have been expecting you, and we are all so excited to meet you. Please, follow me."
Eddie recognized immediately that this man was the person who was sitting near the middle of the table. She had no idea why Stuart was there as this man was presumably one of the top management of Dior. As Stuart glanced at the man’s face, he could still feel his body trembling from the argument with Eddie.
The man suddenly became aware of the atmosphere around him. He didn’t dare to speak or move. He stood to the side with his mouth closed, waiting for Stuart’s order.
Anna did not realize that Eddie had such a significant influence on Stuart, and her eyes were filled with jealousy. She said to Stuart, "Stuart, today is important. We can’t waste anymore time." ƒreewebɳovel.com
After Anna reminded him, Stuart remembered that he had something to do. Because he was so angry at what he had just seen, it affected his mood. Stuart widened his eyes then narrowed them in an attempt to look at the man who had disturbed him.
This woman, who he absolutely adores, is being so stubborn and always wants to fight with Stuart. It drove him crazy when Eddie acted this way. Stuart didn’t want Eddie to go with the stranger. He grabbed her by the hand and took her away, "Okay, that’s enough; you are coming with me."
Eddie could barely move because her ankle was so sore, but she took hold of his hand and shoved it away. By the time she realized what she had done, it was too late. Stuart’s penetrating gaze prowled over her face. He gave her a cold, angry look.
Eddie was upset for being so blunt and showed no emotion on her face. She did not want to be seen as weak in the eyes of the public. She clenched her fists and said, "I still have a business to attend to. Please, could you leave me alone."
The atmosphere suddenly felt too heavy. Then someone broke the silence, "Master Yates, the chairman is waiting for you in the conference room."
Despite his respectful manner, he spoke out and urged him to come into the room. Stuart knew he couldn’t wait any longer and decided quickly, "Anna, would you help me and keep an eye on her?"
He said coldly, without a trace of expression on his face and followed the middle-aged man in the room. Gould had felt uncomfortable and went to the next room, so the only two people left were Eddie and Anna. Eddie didn’t want to look at Anna, and she didn’t even want to speak to her. So Eddie endured the pain in her foot and started to walk to where Gould was.
Anna did not want to do what Stuart had asked of her, but she had no choice. She took two steps forward and stepped right in front of Eddie. Anna said in a mocking tone, "Did you not hear what Stuart said? He doesn’t want you to go, so you had better wait for him here."
The sarcasm was dripping from every word. Eddie, who was struggling to walk, had lost her balance and fell again. Anna looked Eddie up and down at Anna and gave her a disgusted look.
"Do you really want me to stay here? You came with him today, isn’t this the chance you have been waiting for? To be alone with him?" Eddie was not going to show her any weakness, and she looked up at Anna with a smug, secure sneer on her face.
Eddie was not Stuart’s slave, and she did not have to obey his every wish and command. She was an ordinary person, Eddie was his wife, and she had her own emotions. Why would he even ask Anna to do this? Didn’t he think that it would cause great embarrassment to Eddie? Why would Stuart feel that she wanted to face Anna?
A flash of embarrassment came into Anna’s eyes. Eddie really hit the nail on the head. Anna had thought Stuart would take care of her no matter what happened when she came to the city. However, she did not realize that Stuart would arrange an assistant for her.
The assistant was Ivan, and he never showed up. Anna would call him, and Ivan always said he was in a meeting. Anna thought about Stuart and how he used to be so cold towards her, but now he wasn’t so cruel to her. It was only because of Eddie, his wife.
Anna was driven crazy with jealousy, but again there was nothing she could do. She finally had the opportunity to ask Stuart out through Hicks. Moreover, due to the special status of Hicks, Stuart could not bring anyone else with him while he meant with Hicks. Hicks and Stuart finally had a chance to be alone together.
Who would have thought that Eddie would have been here? Anna suspected that Eddie had deliberately followed Stuart.
"Let you go. What would I tell Stuart?"
Eddie scoffed at her, "You’re so good at acting. Can’t you even handle this situation? Stuart has no idea what to do with you. So he gets you to watch me."
