Chapter 159: Chapter 159: I Am Getting So Tired
As soon as she fell into the water, the salty, bitter water flooded through her nose, and Edie panicked. Her swimming level was just about average, but she still had some effects of the drug in her body, which made her unable to exert herself. There was nothing she could do; she started to sink to the bottom of the sea. ƒreewebɳovel.com
She managed to bring herself up on top of the water, and the thoughts were flashing through her mind, "Childe did not grab the contract from her, and what happens if he can’t swim?" She shook her head as if she had forgotten where she was, she could not save him, and she tried to swim.
She gasped for air as it was getting harder for her to breathe, and her eyes were growing heavy. The cold water flooded in as if to swallow her up, "I am getting so tired." Maybe she should have given up, her mother was gone, and there was no one left, why was she still struggling?
If the world wasn’t filled with pleasant memories, why should she even bother? Her eyes filled with tears, and Edie slowly closed her eyes. What Edie didn’t know is that when she fell into the water, Stuart jumped in after her. He swam vigorously to save her.
Stuart finally found her just as she was about to sink. He was struggling to keep her above the water, then he put his lips on hers and breathed air into her mouth. His warm body was her only source of heat, and she clung to him.
While trying to keep her head above the water, he swam to the yacht. He steadily climbed the ladder and laid her on the deck. Edie thought she was dreaming, she could hear someone telling her not to be afraid, but in her dream, she did not know what there was to fear. She only saw her mother standing, waiting for her. She was cold and tired and wanted to sleep.
"Masters in the water! Master can’t swim!" Childe Yates’s men hollered. When they became aware of the situation, they jumped into the water to search for their Master. They looked around desperately for him, and from all the confusion, someone hollered, "It ’s six o ’clock!"
When the dark tide came, the yachts looked small and vulnerable on the vast sea, and soon the undercurrent was surging, sending the ships hurtling toward the reef. The boat rocked from side to side, and the people inside were being tossed around.
Edie didn’t know what was happening as her body rocked uncontrollably from side to side, but she could feel no pain as he held her tightly in his embrace. He kissed her softly on the lips and said, "Everything is going to be okay."
"The ship is on the rocks! There’s water in the boat!" That was the last words she had heard before she lost consciousness.
"Help me," Edie squealed out of fear. She suddenly awakened by the scary image in her mind. She sat up in a daze on her bed, gasping for air. Then she noticed that she was at the Villa and was in her room.
For a moment, she looked confused and desperately looked around for Stuart, and then someone opened the door. She turned, her body tense, and a sinking feeling of panic swept over her, "Stuart?" Only to see Carol come in with a strange man, it was not Stuart at all.
Carol saw Edie’s pale and sweaty face and asked her kindly, "Mrs. Yates, are you alright? Did you have a nightmare?" Edie shook her head, "I’m fine. When and how did I get to the Villa?"
All she could remember is that she and Childe had fallen into the water, but she had no idea how she got back. She was confused and had this strange feeling that something was wrong.
"Ivan brought you back, Mrs. Yates."
"Ivan?" She didn’t see Ivan on the yacht, and she didn’t see Stuart. Maybe it was arranged by Stuart? Thinking about it, she felt a little better. Since Ivan had brought her back safely, Stuart would also be okay, too.
"Where’s Stuart? Is he okay?"
Carol was facing a dilemma, "He... Ivan brought you back and didn’t tell me where the Master was going." As soon as Carol finished speaking, the strange man who had been standing quietly at the back of the room began to speak, "Master has returned to Japan for his work, so I don’t know when he will be back."
"What? Stuart is not here. I don’t understand?"
Edie’s heart was pounding, and she had a weird sensation that reminded her of the image of her blood in the dream. If it wasn’t her blood, then whose was it? Whose blood was flowing towards her?
Edie turned to look at the man, and he was wearing wire-rimmed glasses and a business suit. She hadn’t seen him before.
"Who are you?" Edie looked at him defensively.
"Well, Mrs. Yates, I’m the Master’s physician, Julian."
When Edie was drugged at the resort, Julian had seen her and treated her, but Edie was still unconscious and had not seen him.
"Did you see Stuart? Are you sure he’s well? Are you sure he’s okay? Someone, please tell me how he is," Edie was impatient, she had to know. Julian, with a friendly smile on his face, replied politely, "Mrs. Yates, your health is important. It is better if I examine you first." Then he turned to Carol and said, "Ask Mr. Sampson to come at once!"
Mr. Sampson had been waiting outside the door, and as soon as he heard Carol call him, he walked quickly into the room.
"Mrs. Yates, how are you feeling?"
"Mr. Sampson, You are the only one that I trust. Please tell me where Stuart is!"
Edie’s vigilance grew a lot when she learned of Childe Yates’ true identity. Now being Stuart’s wife, she was going to be cautious and make sure that the people around her were not trying to deceive her. However, to Edie’s disappointment, Mr. Sampson was consistent with Julian’s words, "Mrs. Yates, Master has already returned to Japan due to an emergency. The specific time of his return has not been decided yet, and he must handle it there."
"How did I get out? Where is Childe? Did he survive? If he did, will he ever give up?"
"Mrs. Yates, please be calm down. Childe Yates was only playing a game with Mr. Yates and did not deliberately try to hurt the Master."
"A game? Could a game kidnap her? Would he take her out on a yacht? If that was the truth, then why was there a gun pointed at her?"
A sense of frustration welled up in Edie’s heart. She knew that everything he said was not right, but she had no way of knowing the truth. Was Stuart hiding it from her?
"Stuart, where the hell are you?"
