Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Primordial Earth Elemental Bear

"There are only a few kinds of things these Mixed-blood Dragon Beasts would guard. But a treasure that gives off a golden light?"

Jesse looked toward Andre, and Selena did as well.

"Don’t look at me. I major in Demon Pattern Study, so I’m not very skilled in Magic Botany."

Andre pretended to be unskilled in Magic Botany.

When Andre mentioned he majored in Demon Pattern Study, Selena and Jesse froze for a moment before exclaiming in unison, "You’re a freak!"

"Demon Pattern Study... Impressive!"

Hearing this, Ferguson and Rite also gave him a thumbs-up.

"Demon Pattern Study? Have you not studied it?"

Andre asked, surprised by their reactions.

Demon Pattern Study is a fundamental subject for Wizards; every Wizard dabbles in it to some extent.

"At least half of all accomplishments in the Wizard World are related to Demon Pattern Study. Do you really think many Wizards can claim to have thoroughly mastered such a vast and complex field?"

Selena rolled her eyes at Andre. She didn’t want to talk to a freak like him. It was just too infuriating!

"So, do you have a way to make these Mixed-blood Dragon Beasts scatter? If not, I’m going to continue my search for an Earth Elemental Bear cub."

Andre gestured toward the Mixed-blood Dragon Beast Tribe before them, posing the question to Selena and the other three.

Hearing his question, all four of them looked troubled.

They did have some life-saving treasures from their elders, but those were meant for dire emergencies—not for a death match with a horde of Mixed-blood Dragon Beasts.

For a moment, Selena and the others were at a loss.

Seeing that none of them were speaking, Andre gave a dismissive wave and started walking away.

He was off to find his Earth Elemental Bear.

Selena’s expression grew even more troubled as she watched Andre walk away.

"What can we do to make these Mixed-blood Dragon Beasts split up?"

The four of them exchanged glances and began to search through their belongings. But even after turning everything inside out, they couldn’t find anything that would make the Mixed-blood Dragon Beasts split up.

"The only way to get them to disperse is to lure them away with something that can enhance their Giant Dragon Bloodline."

Selena said, her face wrought with worry as she continuously massaged the bridge of her nose.

For the powerful families backing Selena and her companions, such items weren’t hard to come by.

But they didn’t have anything like that on them at the moment.

They hadn’t known they would run into a Mixed-blood Dragon Beast Tribe before entering the Secret Realm, so they were completely unprepared. With no other choice, the four of them had to keep brainstorming.

Andre hadn’t gone far after leaving Selena’s group. He stopped and affixed several Witchcraft Scrolls to a few nearby trees.

Once the Witchcraft Scrolls were in place, Andre moved deeper into the jungle, then cast a spell to activate them.

The moment the Witchcraft Scrolls activated, a series of images materialized before Andre’s eyes.

In these images, the movements of both Selena and the Mixed-blood Dragon Beast Tribe were perfectly clear.

’I’ve provided a precious enough treasure. Now we’ll see if you can actually obtain it.’

As he thought this, Andre took out his Servant Bag and released the creature within.

The moment the creature was released, it pounced toward Andre.

"Alright, alright. You’re hungry, are you? I’ll feed you right now!"

Andre placed a hand on the creature’s head, stroking it gently as he began to prepare its meal.

Hearing Andre’s words, the creature quieted down, though its paws kept waving impatiently as it waited to be fed.

Andre took a piece of Honeycomb from his Storage Ring and stuffed it into the creature’s mouth. Seeing that it was getting honey, the creature immediately chirped with delight.

However, being so young, its cry lacked any sort of majesty and was instead utterly adorable.

"Go on, eat up!" Andre pushed the Honeycomb into the creature’s mouth, and it immediately hugged the treat and began to gnaw on it.

If Selena and the others were to see this creature, their eyes would pop out of their sockets. It would also expose Andre’s lie.

For this creature was none other than the Earth Elemental Bear cub Andre had been "searching" for.

However, the Earth Elemental Bear cub Andre had found was somewhat different from the ones recorded in books.

Normally, Earth Elemental Bears are born from the breeding of adult specimens.

But according to research in the Wizard World, the most primitive Earth Elemental Bears didn’t possess a Magical Beast Bloodline.

The most primitive Earth Elemental Bears were magical creatures whose bodies were composed entirely of Earth Crystals.

This difference was tied to the very origin of the Earth Elemental Bears.

Earth Elemental Bears originally gestated in worlds rich with the Earth Element, making them a type of Elemental Creature.

This is why a newborn Earth Elemental Bear possesses Power comparable to that of a Giant Dragon or a Giant. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

However, Earth Elemental Bears aren’t born so powerful; they grow into their strength over time.

A newly gestated Earth Elemental Bear remains in its birthplace, venturing into the outside world only after it enters its growth period.

During this process, the Earth Elemental Bear continuously absorbs Power from the earth to fuel its own growth.

One could say that every primordial Earth Elemental Bear is a favored child of the earth itself.

It was by a stroke of luck that Andre had discovered this particular Earth Elemental Bear cub, born right here in the Secret Realm.

He had used the unique attraction of his own Bloodline to draw the cub to his side.

Upon inspection, Andre discovered that this cub had already been living in the Secret Realm for several hundred years.

An ordinary Earth Elemental Bear would have matured long ago in that amount of time.

Yet, when Andre found it, it still had the appearance of a newborn cub.

Andre had taken a book about Magical Beasts from his Storage Ring and cross-referenced it to be sure. The cub he now held was one of the most primitive kind.

But due to the unique environment of the Secret Realm, this little fellow, despite being hundreds of years old, hadn’t grown at all. It looked exactly as it had the day it was born.

Realizing this was an opportunity that might never come again, Andre used his own Bloodline to gain the Earth Elemental Bear’s acknowledgment, successfully winning it over.

As for how a human and an Elemental Creature could communicate via their Bloodlines, he had to thank the mouthful of blood his ancestor had coughed up before dying.

Over three thousand years, that blood had spread evenly to every corner of the Secret Realm.

The forests, the rivers, the soil, the Magic Plants, the Magical Beasts—every single thing and creature native to this Secret Realm contained a trace of that Divine Blood.

This also explained why Andre’s own Power hadn’t increased significantly after he fused with that drop of Divine Blood. The Power within the blood had been so diluted and scattered by time that it was barely recognizable.

While it still retained some of its original essence, its actual Power was minimal.

’Go on, fight over it. I’d love to see which of you manages to get your hands on that Dragon Transformation Fruit Tree.’

Andre would periodically pop a piece of Honeycomb into the Earth Elemental Bear’s mouth, and occasionally even a Magic Stone, to accelerate its growth.

All the while, his eyes remained glued to the Witchcraft projection.

Meanwhile, Selena and her companions were still trying to figure out what exactly was being surrounded by the Mixed-blood Dragon Beasts.

But no matter how they tried, they couldn’t get a clear look at the object’s true form.
