Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Help
’I hope what I said had some effect on him. Good luck to him.’
Andre watched Quint’s retreating figure and shook his head.
Although his teacher had said there were no Magical Beasts in the Secret Realm on par with an Official Wizard,
there were sure to be plenty at the High Level Wizard Apprentice stage.
’If Quint can find a place to hide, he might have a chance of survival.’
’But if he insists on exploring, the odds of disaster will skyrocket.’
’Time to keep searching!’
Andre continued onward. He walked until nightfall before finally making his first find of the day.
But upon discovering his prize, Andre found himself hesitant to claim it, for a Magical Beast stood guard.
The guardian was none other than the very same Forest Water Python he had seen upon first entering the Secret Realm.
The Forest Water Python had coiled its hundred-meter-long body, its gaze fixed on the flower before it. Its jaws were parted, an azure tongue flicking in and out periodically.
’Dragon Breath Grass... Legend says it grows on the corpse of a Giant Dragon after its death, representing the dragon’s very Soul. A single mature stalk can guarantee a High Level Wizard Apprentice’s promotion to Official Wizard. It’s worth tens of thousands of Magic Stones!’
Andre gazed at the stalk of Dragon Breath Grass, deeply conflicted.
The Dragon Breath Grass was already in its final stage of growth. It just needed to flower and seed; once the seeds fell, it would be fully mature.
If he could get his hands on this Dragon Breath Grass, take it out of the Secret Realm, and sell it,
he could save at least a third of the resources needed to become an Official Wizard. Or, if he found himself unable to break through, he could use it himself.
’But this Forest Water Python is a huge problem. None of my abilities can break through its defenses. This nearly mature Dragon Breath Grass is right in front of me, and I can’t get it.’
Andre watched for a moment longer, his heart filled with regret.
’It’s not entirely hopeless, though. If the Forest Water Python goes out to hunt like it did before, I could use that window to take the Dragon Breath Grass.’
’The catch is, I’d have to escape its pursuit, and that’s far easier said than done.’ freёwebnovel.com
A Forest Water Python’s tongue is extremely sensitive to scents in the air.
The books said its tongue could distinguish over a thousand different scents.
’If I want to fool the Forest Water Python, my only option is to be like Quint and find a place to conceal my presence, then hide there until the Token transports us out of the Secret Realm.’
’I’ll just look for something else. It’s a great treasure, but I’m not fated to have it!’
Andre turned and started to walk away.
This stalk of Dragon Breath Grass just wasn’t meant for him. But as he turned to leave, a rustling sound came from behind him.
The sound immediately put Andre on alert. The Forest Water Python had discovered him and was giving chase.
Andre hastily cast a Gentle Wind Technique on himself, then pulled a Wings of the Wind Witchcraft Scroll from his pack and tore it.
The Power of the two spells sent Andre’s Speed skyrocketing.
But even so, a massive wall of water slowly rose before him, blocking his path.
Andre was forced to a halt. Just as he was about to turn, the Forest Water Python arrived behind him.
But the Forest Water Python showed no intention of attacking. Instead, it opened its jaws and offered Andre a clump of earth.
Nestled in the clump of earth, Andre saw the nearly mature Dragon Breath Grass.
’What is it doing?’
Andre watched, completely baffled by the Forest Water Python’s actions.
’Is it planning to swallow me and the Dragon Breath Grass together? Use me as food for its own growth? What’s going on?’
Just as Andre’s mind was racing with wild thoughts, a young, immature voice sounded in his mind.
"Human. It’s you."
Andre panicked for a moment when he heard the voice, but then he realized it was the Forest Water Python in front of him that was speaking.
"Human, I need your help."
The Forest Water Python had begun to communicate with Andre using Witchcraft.
"My help? What could I possibly do to help you?"
Andre looked at the Forest Water Python with a sense of helplessness. He was just an Elementary Wizard Apprentice; how could he possibly be qualified to help the creature before him?

The Forest Water Python’s voice, stumbling and hesitant, echoed in his mind again, repeating the same phrase.
"What are you talking about?"
Andre didn’t understand why the Forest Water Python had sought him out, or how it even recognized that he was human.
"Every so often, humans like you enter this Secret Realm. You take away my kin who have reached maturity, but they never return."
The Forest Water Python’s body writhed continuously as it nudged the Dragon Breath Grass closer to Andre, practically shoving it into his hands.
"So, what is it you want me to do?"
Andre blinked. The Forest Water Python hadn’t answered him directly, instead steering the conversation toward the Magical Beasts previously taken from the Secret Realm by the academy. This left Andre struggling to understand its intentions.
"It’s my child. Its Bloodline has mutated, and it cannot hatch in this environment. I hope you can bring it into the world."
Seeing Andre ask about its intentions, the Forest Water Python slithered about. A moment later, it curled its tail around a Snake Egg and placed it before Andre.
"This is...?" Andre stared at the Snake Egg, wracking his brain for any mention of it in the books he had read about Magical Beasts. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t find a match for this type of Snake-type Magical Beast.
"Why me?" Andre looked at the Snake Egg, then asked the Forest Water Python after a moment’s hesitation.
If the Forest Water Python simply wanted to get its child out of the Secret Realm, it could have just consumed the Dragon Breath Grass and advanced to become an Official Wizard.
At that point, someone from the academy would have come to take it out of the Secret Realm.
But the Forest Water Python’s current actions left him completely baffled.
"Because you are different from the others. You are a descendant of the Lord. The Lord’s Bloodline flows through your body. You carry the Lord’s scent!"
The Forest Water Python’s words struck Andre like a bolt of lightning. He never imagined that the first being to discover he was a Divine Descendant would be a snake.
"You’ve seen my ancestor?"
Andre took a deep breath and asked cautiously.
"No. But all of my kind born here know of the Lord’s existence from the moment of their birth."
The Forest Water Python’s words left Andre so stunned he could barely stand.
’Does that mean... my ancestor could still be alive?’
’How is that possible?’
’But if it’s not possible, how could the Forest Water Python have recognized my ancestor’s scent on me?’
’It could only have smelled it if it had encountered something belonging to my ancestor... but that’s impossible!’
’All of my ancestor’s belongings were taken by those three Great Wizards. There was nothing left, was there?’
