Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Radiance of Divine Power

In the middle of the night, Andre groggily opened his eyes. A golden light flashed before him, pulling him out of his Meditation Technique.

"Is this the glow of Divine Power?" Andre stared at the golden light before him, an indescribable feeling rising up within him.

He had clearly never seen this golden light before, yet his body felt an incredible familiarity with it. It wasn’t until the Chain of Hatred loosened once again, revealing a fragment of information, that he learned what this golden light was.

’The Divine Power left behind by my ancestor... After 3,000 years, and being refined by Witchcraft, a portion of it still remains. Just what level did my ancestor’s Power reach?’

Andre grinned and, following the information passed down through his bloodline’s knowledge, absorbed the ball of divine light into his body.

After the divine light entered Andre’s body, it began to circulate within him, remodeling his physique.

Throughout this process, the golden light grew dimmer and dimmer.

When the final transformation was complete, the golden light vanished.

Andre summoned the System to check his status.

’This ball of divine light didn’t just assimilate with my body, it also added something special.’

Andre’s gaze was fixed on the two columns: Personality and Ability. freewebnovёl.ƈom

Both of these entries had originally been marked "Pseudo." Now, that prefix was gone, replaced by the word "Fragmented" and a progress bar.

This meant he had officially embarked on the path to becoming the Lord of Truth.

But looking at the progress bars, Andre felt he probably wouldn’t be able to complete this journey in his entire lifetime.

’Progress measured in hundredths and tenths of a percent... When could I possibly max them out?!’

Still, a progress bar that moved was better than one that didn’t move at all.

Andre took a few deep breaths to calm himself and resumed his Meditation Technique.

This time, however, no golden particles drifted toward him.

In the morning, Andre was awakened by the sound of birds. He put everything from the tree hollow into his Storage Ring, shouldered his backpack, and activated his Eye of Truth to scan the surroundings. ƒrēewebnovel.com

After confirming there were no Magical Beasts nearby, Andre carefully peeled the few Witchcraft Scrolls he had stuck to the tree hollow, rolling them back up together.

These few Disguise Scrolls were reusable, and it was better to keep them unless absolutely necessary.

After emerging from the hollow, Andre climbed down the tree. He began to move through the jungle, using a Recording Crystal to document what he saw.

He hadn’t gone far before he discovered another group of Magical Beasts.

But this group of Magical Beasts, though they noticed him, did not attack. They were preoccupied with their own business, for they were a swarm of Iron Ants.

At that moment, the swarm of Iron Ants was carrying food they had found back to their anthill, paying no attention to Andre, who was not far off.

Watching the orderly swarm of Iron Ants, Andre still stopped in his tracks, waiting for them to pass by him.

Only after the last Iron Ant had disappeared from his line of sight did Andre continue on his way.

Andre walked for a long time before a chill ran down his spine. He whipped his head around, and cold sweat instantly beaded on his forehead.

Not far to his right was a hill, dozens of meters high, swarming with a dense mass of Iron Ants.

In other words, this hill was the Iron Ants’ nest.

’Good thing these Iron Ants found enough food, otherwise, I would have become their food!’

Andre wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and continued on his way.

Although a single Iron Ant’s combat power was negligible, there was a saying: many ants can bite an elephant to death.

If all these Iron Ants attacked him at once, he would be completely unable to fend them off, even if he used up every last Witchcraft Scroll on his person.

After quickly passing through the Iron Ants’ territory, Andre finally found his first harvest in the Secret Realm.

It was a flower—a Demon Flower!

In the Wizard World, this flower was known as the Laughing Flower.

If a person ingested its petals, pollen, or seeds, they would be sent into a fit of uncontrollable laughter.

But when harvested, refined, and concocted into a Magic Potion, the Laughing Flower could be transformed into a Potion that increased one’s Spiritual Power.

And that was just one of the Laughing Flower’s many uses.

Its most valuable use was to treat certain breeding difficulties in Magical Beasts.

After Wizards discovered this particular use, one Alchemist led the charge, turning the Laughing Flower into a certain... unmentionable Potion.

He took it himself and ended up dying of a heart attack in the bed of one of his Elf lovers.

Later, according to this Elf, after the Alchemist took the Potion, he completely lost control. Even though he was a Level 2 Wizard, he couldn’t restrain himself and was constantly driven by the desire to procreate.

Later, through the Wizards’ analysis, it was determined that the special effect of a refined Laughing Flower was ten thousand times more potent than an unrefined one.

Even the body of an Official Wizard couldn’t handle it. To ingest it, one would have to be a Great Wizard of Level 4 or higher to withstand the effects.

Consequently, the use of special potions refined from the Laughing Flower was restricted to Magical Beasts and forbidden for human use.

Despite these restrictions, the Laughing Flower was still highly valuable, with each stalk selling for over a hundred Magic Stones.

Upon seeing the Laughing Flower, Andre activated his Eye of Truth. After confirming there were no Magical Beasts nearby, he cast the Gentle Wind Technique on himself, held his breath, and dashed over. He yanked the Laughing Flower out by the roots and stuffed it directly into his Storage Ring.

After stuffing the Laughing Flower into his Storage Ring, Andre didn’t stop but continued running forward.

A moment later, Andre heard the roar of a beast from behind him!

’Just as I thought. There was a Magical Beast guarding it, waiting for the Laughing Flower to mature so it could use its power to reproduce.’

’But no matter how closely they guarded it, they never would have expected a mere Wizard Apprentice like me to run off with the Laughing Flower they were protecting.’

Andre ran for another stretch, confirmed there were no sounds behind him, then double-checked with his Eye of Truth. Once he was sure no Magical Beasts were following, Andre finally slowed his pace and continued his search.

By noon, he had found his second treasure. This one was worth over a thousand Magic Stones, several times the value of the Laughing Flower.

This time, Andre had discovered a tree—a tree that was incredibly beneficial for those in the Wizard Apprentice stage.
