Chapter 1202: Chapter 1202: Return from Death

Scarlett Yates stared blankly at him, as if utterly shocked, unable to say a word for a long time.

The man smiled slightly and added another portion of food to her plate with his chopsticks, "If you like it, have some more. My chef here is quite good, and I think these dishes must suit your taste."

It wasn’t until then that Scarlett noticed the table was filled with dishes she knew all too well.

These were merely ordinary home-cooked dishes, but ones she had been eating for over a decade.

Each dish, she could never forget.

The spread of dishes on the table was exactly the same as the New Year’s Eve dinner she had every year as a child.

But what shocked her most wasn’t the identical dishes; it was the mapo tofu just now, which tasted exactly like what she had before.

The replication of the dishes was not surprising, as these were not difficult banquets and anyone with some cooking skills could make them.

But to recreate the taste exactly, without the slightest difference...

"Who on earth are you?" Scarlett looked at the completely unfamiliar face before her in shock, her heart racing faster and eyes widening, "How do you know what dishes our family makes for New Year’s Eve dinner every year, and these flavors..."

She suddenly lowered her head, picked up the chopsticks that had fallen onto the table, and took a few bites of the nearest dish, her face showing even more astonishment. Then, she helped herself to several dishes in quick succession. The more she tasted, the more shocked she became.

Looking up again, she gazed at the man with disbelief, "The taste of these dishes is exactly the same as the ones made by a relative of mine."

Dishes can be replicated, but the taste, it cannot be replicated.

No matter how closely duplicated, there are always differences; it can never be exactly the same.

Scarlett suddenly realized there were things she hadn’t noticed before.

Aside from the completely unfamiliar face, this man had many things about him that were familiar to her.

But just because she saw that unfamiliar face, she immediately categorized him as a stranger.

If... if that unfamiliar face were replaced with the one she knew best...

Scarlett’s heart began pounding wildly once more, her fingers trembling uncontrollably as they rested on the table.

She bit her lip, her breath halted several times, muttering in disbelief, "Impossible, you can’t be him, but these flavors, if not made by the same person, could never be exactly alike."

She seemed a bit incoherent, but the man understood what she was saying.

"Scarlett, even now, don’t you know who I am?" The man smiled at her; this time, his smile was very gentle, utterly different from the cold and rude attitude he had earlier.

The sharp gaze in his eagle eyes was replaced with a gentleness and affection, making his otherwise ordinary face much more vivid.

Scarlett stood up in disbelief, her voice trembling, "But... but weren’t you in a car accident?"

The man... this time it should be clear who he is, and she should call him by his rightful name, Noah Yates.

Mother Yates is named Autumn Spencer, and Father Yates is Noah Yates.

Scarlett’s feelings at this moment can only be described as shock, but that still doesn’t suffice.

She looked at Noah Yates with incredulity, finding this entire situation beyond comprehension.

Who has ever heard of a dead person coming back to life? And someone who’s been dead for over a decade?
