Slimo walked over to Enki and got on his knees.
"Enki, please make me another pair of those glasses. I’ll do anything."
"What happened to the other pair I have you?"
"Well, they sort of... combusted."
"Combusted?"
Enki magically pulled out a pen and notebook.
"In what way?"
"Where did you get that?"
"Do you want the glasses or not..."
"Sorry. I looked at Lidia and the glasses seemed to break after reading her information."
"Are you trying to tell me my glorious item broke with a simple glare at some text?"
"Exactly. Maybe you aren’t the greatest enchanter after all... Just forget I said anything about the glasses."
"I see what you’re doing, and it’s working! I’ll make your damn glasses and I’ll make them unbreakable!"
Enki turned around and started fumbling with many things in his robes. Some people tried to look and see what he was doing, but it was as if a strange barrier was made so no one could see what he was going. After three moments, he turned around and presented Slimo with a brand-new set of lenses made out of a strange alloy.
Slimo picked up the glasses and looked at them.
"What’s changed?"
"It’s better."
Slimo nodded his head and put the glasses on. First thing he did was look at Lidia. The same text appeared next to her like usual. However, the glasses didn’t so much as crack, even after looking at her for a long time.
"They’re perfect. Is there a new drawback?"
Enki twiddled his thumbs.
"Oh, nothing you should be concerned about... I think."
Even though Slimo wanted to question him, he decided to remain silent and look at the group.
"Alright everyone, line up! I’m going to give you a paper that describes your Zalo, its description, and your weakness. All of you must memorize it before we start your training, especially your weakness. Any questions?"
Steel raised his hand.
"There is no way your question is relevant. Am I wrong?"
Steel put his hand down.
"That’s what I thought. Everyone, line up so I can write you your paper and hand it to you."
Everyone around him started forming a long line. Using his glasses, Slimo began to write the marks that appeared next to every single person in the noble clans. Every time he finished, he would hand the paper over to the person so they could study it. First up was Bart. Slimo quickly wrote down his paper and handed it to him.
Name: Bart Rose
Zalo: Strengthen
Zalo Type: Rend
Zalo Description: This user can strengthen objects beyond their normal limitations.
Threat Level: Infant Beast
Weakness: Their Zalo is non-combative.
Bart read over his paper and nodded. Next up was Serena.
Name: Serena Rose
Zalo: Heat Amplification
Zalo Type: Rend
Zalo Description: This user can increase the heat of anything around her, even the atmosphere itself.
Threat Level: Elder Beast
Weakness: Their Zalo is non-combative.
Soon after, everyone started getting handed their papers and read their weaknesses with curious expressions.
Name: Lucy Rose
Zalo: Iron Creation
Zalo Type: Rend
Zalo Description: This user can create iron anywhere and anytime they please. This iron created can be made much stronger than regular iron depending on the amount of energy put into the creation.
Threat Level: Elder Beast
Weakness: Making iron takes a lot of energy from the user. Stall the battle as long as possible. High heat may melt the iron.
"It’s a good thing Zoey is my friend."
Name: Abby Rose
Zalo: Object Regeneration
Zalo Type: Rend
Zalo Description: This user can regenerate an object from any broken state. Regenerating the object strengthens it.
Threat Level: Infant Beast
Weakness: Their Zalo is non-combative.
"I always knew I would be a support-type. I wonder if there’s some way to make my power more offensive?"
Name: Luna Katra
Zalo: Freeze
Zalo Type: Curse
Zalo Description: This user can freeze anything they touch.
Threat Level: Beast Deity
Weakness: High heat can melt the ice. The ice will shatter easily when someone is frozen.
Release: Instantly freezes what she is touching and everything connected to them.
Instead of saying anything, Luna simply nodded at her paper.
Name: Gabriel Katra
Zalo: Size Manipulation
Zalo Type: Curse
Zalo Description: This user can grow as large or small as they want with little limitation.
Threat Level: Beast Deity
Weakness: When large, they are easy to attack. When they are small, it is best to destroy the area around you to see them easier.
Release: This user can explosively push their power beyond its limits, becoming either insanely large or infinitely small.
"Maybe I should be small more often. And since when did I have a release power."
Name: Harold Katra
Zalo: Speed Enhancement (Self)
Zalo Type: Curse
Zalo Description: This user can move extremely fast.
Threat Level: Beast Deity
Weakness: Destroying the area around you will make it harder for the user to move. Limiting the users speed as much as possible is the only chance you will have at winning.
Release: Explosively increases the speed of the user for a short time. However, the user’s body may not be able to handle the strain.
"Does that last part mean I’m too powerful for my own good?"
Name: Lee Katra
Zalo: Density Manipulation.
Zalo Type: Blessing/Rend
Zalo Description: This user can manipulate the density of people and objects.
Threat Level: Elder Beast
Weakness: This user does not have a combative power.
"You were the first person I have ever seen have a mix of power types. To be honest, I don’t know if that means you’re a special case or if it has always been possible for someone to do."
Lee read over his paper once more.
"I see. I promise I won’t let you down if I’m really that special."
Name: Steel Katra
Zalo: Sharpened Body
Zalo Type: Curse
Zalo Description: This user can cut anything they want with nothing but their body.
Threat Level: Elder Beast
Weakness: If you keep your distance, there is no chance this user can harm you in any way. The sharpness of their attacks isn’t honed highly yet. Take advantage before it’s too late.
"Can I just cut my weakness off myself?"
"Please don’t try that..."
Name: Bo Katra (Perve)
Zalo: Invisibility
Zalo Type: Curse
Zalo Description: This user can turn invisible.
Threat Level: Beast Deity
Weakness: Have a special charm to help you see him or listen carefully to their footsteps and breathing.
"Hey! Who the hell wrote this on my paper?!"
Slimo ignored him and passed out the next one.
Name: Zoey Katra
Zalo: Flame Creation
Zalo Type: Rend
Zalo Description: This user can set anything she wants on fire. Strangely, she is not terribly affected by her own flames she creates. This user can coat themselves in their flamed as an armor if they wish.
Threat Level: Infant Monster
Weakness: Using a high concentration of water will douse their flames. This user appears to have a hot temper.
Release: This user can explosively unleash an inferno of flames that can sear a large area.
"I don’t have a hot temper?! What kind of bullshit is that?! Tell them Serena! Tell them this is wrong or I’ll get mad!"
Serena simply looked at Zoey speechless. Slimo was about to hand out the papers to Squabee and Sarah, but they held up their hands.
"Enki helped us learn everything we needed when we were training. I really appreciate it though, Slimo."
That left only two people who hadn’t received their papers: Maria and Jacob. Slimo hesitantly handed the papers over to both of them.
Name: Jacob Vice
Zalo: Root Manipulation
Zalo Type: Rend
Zalo Description: This user can control roots to grow or shrink whenever they want.
Threat Level: Infant Monster
Weakness: Avoid getting caught by the roots. The roots only grow with a verbal command of the user.
"So, I really am a bastard son of the Rose Clan..."
Maria began to read hers.
Name: Maria Rose
Zalo: Strength Amplification
Zalo Type: Curse
Zalo Description: This user can greatly enhance their strength beyond human limits.
Threat Level: Elder Monster
Weakness: Don’t piss them off. If a fight is unavoidable, aim to throw them off balance or weaken them in some way.
Release: This user can explosively strengthen an attack or their body. Attacking with a tremendous amount of power may damage the user.
[Born Leader]: This user was born to lead an army into battle. Anyone who follows their command is strengthened.
"Well, I expected this to be as much. I wonder what this power is at the bottom? Did I always have that?"
Lidia and Slimo watched both of them grab their papers and walk away. She whispered over to Slimo when they were out of ear shot.
"Do you think that was a good idea? Hiding so much information from them?"
Slimo cleared his throat before speaking.
"I think it was good in Jacob’s case. I purposely gave Maria a small bit of insight into her powers so we can all hopefully become more strengthened if she decides to lead us."
"When will be the time to finally tell them?"
Slimo remained silent for a few moments.
"I’m not sure, but what the Traveler said about them is making me even more cautious. There’s another thing too that has to do with Jacob. I want to confirm my suspicions before being haste."
Lidia looked at him worriedly. Slimo noticed and eased his shoulders a bit.
"It will be okay. However, I really need you to start preparing to cleanse corrupted minds just in case."
