Chapter 113: Chapter 113: JACOBS POV.
Chapter 113: THIRD POV.
The sea was so massive, and while i wasn’t exactly fragile, The thought of me being lost, hungry, or hurt made her stomach tie itself into tight knots.
’Don’t worry, it won’t be long now till we find you... I promise,’ she thought, clenching her hand into a tight fist over the railing.
Her emotions flared up momentarily, a small spark of magical energy causing the water near the side of the ship to bubble for a brief second before she forced herself to calm down.
She had to stay focused.
"Oh, I almost forgot," a look of sudden realization emerged on her beautiful face, her eyes widening slightly as she remembered a very important passenger they had left behind in the water.
She turned around and walked back toward the center of the deck, flicking her white wrist through the air. freeweɓnovel.cøm
Right after she made the gesture, the young sea cow, completely covered and protected in a floating glob of sea water, was lifted out of the sea and brought gently onto the wooden deck, hovering just a few inches above the floorboards.
The little creature looked around with wide, curious eyes, totally unbothered by the magic.
"I need a container," she told Douglas, pointing a finger toward the floating ball of water.
The animal couldn’t just hover in the air forever while they sailed toward the port town.
"As you command, your ladyship!" the captain said in a highly flustered manner, nearly tripping over his own boots as he yelled down to his crew. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
It seemed that even now, after watching her clear an entire deck with one wave, he still couldn’t get over how incredibly skilled and powerful this woman truly was.
Well you shouldn’t blame him since even I felt like that in the past.
Though to the pirate, I bet it must’ve seemed strange that she could control the sea with a wave of her hand, yet she was worried about a small sea animal.
"You heard her ladyship! Get a barrel, now! Stop that mopping and move your lazy legs!" he told the two men who were currently working near the main mast.
"On it, Captain!" they said in unison, dropping the mop into the bucket with a loud splash.
They both quickly scampered below deck into the dark storage rooms, eager to fulfill the order.
They returned right after, puffing and panting as they rolled a large, empty wooden barrel across the deck, stopping it right in front of Persephone.
Skinny reached out and carefully opened the heavy wooden lid, and then the both of them stepped back several feet, giving Persephone plenty of room to work her magic.
Persephone didn’t waste any time. With a gentle lowering of her hand, she placed the young sea cow, along with the protective glob of water surrounding it, right into the large wooden barrel.
Fortunately, the creature was still very young and small, so it fit into the deep container perfectly, the water filling the barrel right up to the brim without spilling over.
Seeing it bobbing its small head up and down in the wooden tub, splashing a few drops of water onto the deck while staring up at her with a highly delighted look in its dark eyes, Persephone couldn’t help but smile.
The small, warm expression softened her face completely, making her look entirely different from the fierce warrior she’d been moments ago.
" I’m glad you like it too."
She reached down, gently patting the creature’s smooth head with her fingers.
" It won’t be long now before we find your friend, alright." She said.

I stepped out of my cabin on the ship, but the moment I emerged outside the door, I was surprised to see Flounder standing in the corridor outside what I presumed was the princesses room.
He was leaning against the wooden wall with his arms crossed over his chest, acting like a guard who hadn’t slept in days.
His face was tense, and he looked up the exact second the hinges of my door made a sound.
It was high noon since I ended up waking late.
The day prior had been a bit draining on my mind, causing me to sleep right through the morning.
Ok, maybe that was I lie, since Priscilla didn’t come to wake me today, I decided to enjoy myself a bit.
What could I say, when opportunity knocks at your door, what should you do other than just accept it?
We’d already reunited with the warship last night and we’re currently on it, rather than the First Hornet.
The massive battleship was much more stable, its thick wooden walls barely moving despite the heavy waves outside. The perfect vessel if you loved long naps like I did.
For safety and personal reasons, I reserved the entire floor for only I and Rebecca’s people.
I didn’t want random people walking past their doors, and I certainly didn’t want anyone overhearing the sensitive political secrets we had just stumbled into.
The saved captives could stay on the floor below this one, where there was plenty of room, beds and hammocks for them to rest, while Priscilla naturally stayed above deck.
She preferred the open air, the wind in her white fur, and the ability to look out over the sea from the high captain’s quarters anyway.

Alright, so back to the present situation.
The moment I stepped out, his gaze landed on me and his expression soured a bit.
His mouth twisted into a small scowl, and his eyes narrowed as if the very sight of me was ruining his day.
’What’s up with him,’ I thought to myself, feeling a wave of annoyance hit me.
I really didn’t understand what sort of grudge this idiot had against me.
I was the one who had pulled him out of the sea, stopped him from drowning, and given him a safe bed to sleep in.
If anyone had a right to be angry, I should be the one holding the grudge after everything he did in the original story.
